We visited with 2 little kids and had an amazing time! Easy (free) parking on the street running alongside the coastline, easy walk down to the beach. Miles of sand, a lot of it dry and comfy to sit on, then some sections of pebbles, and as the sea goes out, more lovely sand. The beach was clean, though we did find a few bits of litter to pick up on our way out. We were there on a hot sunny day in late July, and it wasn't overly busy, loads of space to spread out and play. We arrived at 10am, and parked easily, though I suspect we'd have been a street or so further back if arriving around midday or later. No dogs on the beach (it may be that they're allowed outside of summer though?), so its safe for kids to play without fear of stepping in anything, or being knocked down by racing dogs. There's a lifeguard station, watching an area for swimming between flags, a splash pad (opens at 10am, kids loved it!), and a large pond for model boats. Adjacent to the beach, there are public toilets (near the Pier Hotel), and while a little smelly, they were fine for beachside public toilets. Outside these there are also 2 taps for rinsing feet etc. Overlooking the beach there is an arcade, an ice cream parlour (absolutely amazing!!) and a chip shop/cafe (chips were good). We also visited 2 days prior when it was raining, and had lunch in the storm house cafe (food sensibly priced and decent, nothing fancy but an easy place to stop in). The rain stopped, and we wandered the beach, toddler throwing stones at the waves, and playing in the drier sand. We had the beach to ourselves as far as we could see! I really don't think I can praise it enough, we had a great time and will be back! It's much more sedate than somewhere like Yarmouth, so if you're looking to avoid huge crowds and masses of people packed onto the beach, it's a superb place to go.

Despite it being a Peak Season Sunday all the queues were very short, just a couple of minutes. A little longer for the big coaster but even that was less than ten minutes. Visited for 4 nights from 3rd-7th November so really out of season. Even though it was off season there was still so much to do and it was not overwhelmingly busy with people. We had a beautiful caravan, wonderfully clean. The team couldn't do enough to help on arrival with ensuring we were happy with our accommodation. We have two small children, 6y/o and 10months, plenty to do on the site with nice parks, indoor soft play, water park, shop, cafe and restaurant. The daytime and evening entertainment kept my 6y/o enthralled with the seaside squad and wanting to come back every day. She actually didn't bother with the amusements as there was too much other stuff to do. Being in the sea front with only a 35 min walk to Yarmouth it's brilliantly located if you want to get out and about too. 100% could not fault our stay and will be booking again next year.

During the evening entertainment this evening, my little girl stood in some human poo in the main marina bar!! We are 99% sure which child did this and who the parents are, but after we cleaned my poor little girl up in the toilets the parents and child had gone, we saw them laughing at the table after we could smell the poo but didn’t put 2 and 2 together until after we clean my daughter up. Her shoes have been put in the bin and she has no shoes for the rest of the holiday. The only thing that was a let down was the arcade you have to put money onto one of there cards to play the games which is very expensive (even more so than normal arcades) the tickets are meant to go straight onto your card. After a couple of days using this we went to check how many tickets we had and none had been put on very frustrating when we had spent so much so we left the arcade the rest of the week. The restaurant and food was nice but for the price you would expect more food. They offer the same menue in the grayling in yarmouth same price double the food so it was worth going there instead. Overall all the staff were amazing and did a brilliant job and the site was brilliant will definitely be back we just won't use the arcade and maybe travel out for food.

We booked direct from Haven, who replied to the original post based on this incorrect information. We booked our holiday direct with Haven and were allocated one of the privately owned caravans at the edge of the site. The caravan was spacious and big enough to accommodate our family (2 adults 3 children aged 4, 2 and 1) and had a nice scenic view or the woodland. However I was very disappinted on arrival. As we arrived we were greeted with rubbish on the veranda going around the caravan which we had to tidy up. The windows covered in bird poo, which seemed to have been there a while (again I had to clean it off). As we entered the caravan we were greeted with a strong smell of bleach suggesting a thoughroughly cleaned van. The shower/toilets were very clean as expected from the smell. However the floor was covered in crumbs suggesting no hoovering. We cleaned up what we could. I then put my 1 year old daughter down to play and noticed not just crumbs but garlic bread pieces and rice under the sofa. We opened a draw to find crumbs that had clearly just been swept into it. I was disgusted at this point. When setting up the travel cot in one of the bedrooms I had to move one of the beds, to discover further filth under the bed. We called and asked for a cleaner, who in fairness came out quickly and was very polite and friendly. Fast forward 24 hours when we first used the oven, to discover a smell. When we opened the oven we discoverd food on a baking tray, left by the previous occupant. Then turning on the tv to find the last chanel watched was Adult Station, which made me concerned what the stains on the sofa were. The double bed was very uncomfortable. The mattress was pure foam which sunk when sat on, like a water bed would. When laying we sunk into it and coild feel the frame of the bed which was very uncomfortable. On our 1st full day we went swimming and I found this disappointing. The water was cold. We had to get out early due to my sons lips turning blue in the water. The changing rooms were basic and didn't seem clean and there are minimal lockers. It was odd you had to take shoes off and leave at reception (or next too). We put ours in our bag but did create a hold up when trying to leave and get our shoes back on in such a tight area On the flip side, the arcade and kids entertainment was good and thoroughly enjoyed. There was a nice park which the kids also liked. The park was a 10 mins drive into Great Yarmouth which had plenty for the kids to do. Unfortunately though due to the cleanliness issues I am unlikely to return here, and would probably not consider other Haven sites either.

Either way it is well looked after and the lifeguards are visible, often out in the sea doing patrols. They use the flag system to let you know where it's safer to swim which is good. Plenty of places to eat and drink all the way along the seafront and fairly priced. Loads of parking nearby, some pay at the meter (or using Ringgo) and some free spots if you're willing to venture further. Atmosphere at the beach was very relaxed and there were lots of people having fun, as they should. It's definitely a well respected and looked after beach. Only thing I felt was missing was that you couldn't go along the pier otherwise it was a thoroughly enjoyable trip.
