Original, intriguing place with meditative, spiritual music and decor to have vegetarian /vegan cuisine. We ordered the wok dish, it was well presented and tasty. Falafel was a bit hard to chew, and they could have been more generous with the portion and especially the sauce, but still, overall, it was a great dining experience. I've been to Antiqua but twice. Since my first experience at Samsara, i will always go to this restaurant when I am in town. I went once at the end of July and once in August this visit. This is a wonderful vegetarian restaurant where you can have most items prepared vegan as well. Went here twice, once for a fresh ginger juice to help my soar throat and again for brunch. I really enjoyed the vibe here. All the staff were kind and the clientele all seemed nice and friendly too! The breakfast was so worth it, really enjoyed eating this meal! Would definitely recommend it to other solo travellers. So I’ve been to Hector’s twice in the past three days because I really love it there!! The sandwiches are really good and fresh - I’m thinking they maybe bake the bread in house? I tried the roast beef sandwich on my first visit and the Don Corleone on my second. Both delicious. I also had fries when I went yesterday and the fries SLAPPED. The decor/ambience is super cute. I sat inside both times because the parlor area is so cute to me. The waitstaff is super friendly and welcoming and I feel comfortable bringing my laptop in to work. The playlist also hits- I love it! Additional plus - the bathrooms are really clean and well-kept. Hector’s has quickly won a place in my list of Antigua go tos. Minor ding - the cinnamon roll looked amazing on the menu but when I ordered it to try, I didn’t love it. I would’ve wanted it fluffier and softer (I did get it warmed up) with more of a moist icing than like dried crackly icing. But it’s all good there’s so much other stuff on the menu to try (the burger looks amazing) and I love the vibes there so I’ll definitely be back!!

I ordered Ardeche from Louis Latour the waiter wine service was so off he looked like he never poured a glass before. I had also to ask for an Ice Bucket. Wine was good at least. Waiter service lacked details he was using the wrong hand from the wrong side to take or give us our plates pushing us to our chair no one ever came back to fill our glasses wine or water. The waiter then told us if we wanted dessert because the kitchen was about to close while there was still at leats 20 person in the restaurant which is pretty rude. We refused feeling pushed. We had to ask for the bill 30 minutes after nobody came to check if we were ok. The bill was already prepared we asked if it was possible to split and it wasn’t. Look, I’ve been in restaurant industry for twenty years now, I’m working in one the 50 best restaurant in north america, as much as I’m humble, I know a lot about restaurants and étiquette. We payed 3500 quetzal for the meal. At this price point I expect still water to be included, they charged us 180 Q for 3 bottles of luke warm Evian water. Overall the experience was a disappointment. Food was good but not exceptional for the price range and service was just bad. We felt judged, I know we weren’t dressed in suits but we went there in the Idea to live an experience as all the other guests. Don’t judge the book by it’s cover. If you are asking yourself question, you can get a lot more satisfaction going in small authentic restaurants than this place. Service is horrible even if the food is ok.

The food was honestly so so delicious to the extent that I’m here writing this review 4 days later after already coming back home from vacationing there. I ordered the baked eggs and it did take a little longer to get but it was extremely flavorful and delicious. The hot chocolate was creamy and the waffles were fluffy. I 1000% recommend!! The people who run the place are extremely friendly and kind, the service is outstanding and the food is incredibly delicious. The fresh squeezed mango juice was a revelation.
