I have walked past the shop numerous times and eventually went in recently to buy a hat for a friend's birthday. The hat shop is across Hepworth Arcade to the clothes shop but run by the same people.
A very friendly lady helped find the right hat, a trilby with a feather in the silk band. There were several sizes of the same hat for all size heads and could be ordered if not in stock. I could pay cash or card and nothing was too much trouble.
Definitely worth a visit. The clothing shop across the arcade had new vibrant colour clothes downstairs. Upstairs is very good quality preowned clothing from America.

Ive bought so many items from here including jeans, jumpers and tops of which I absolutely adore and have had many compliments on. I had the pleasure of discovering a refreshing new concept of vintage clothing, within the high street shops. Poorboy Boutique sits between the retail giant, Primark, and a cluster of other independent retailers, as well as Topshop, River Island etc, within Princes Quay.
The staff were really welcoming and helpful , which made a nice change. There's a large and varied choice of vintage clothing for men and women and I struggled to decide what to buy. I ended up getting a great Ralph Lauren shirt with a pair of Levis 501 all for under £50!

These guys saved my wedding! I went to them for a bespoke shirt to be made as I wasn't going to find a shirt anywhere that fit me with the body shape that I have.
My now wife emailed them to query whether they would be able to do some alterations of the suit I had already purchased but wasn't happy with the fit of at all. The magic they worked on my suit made sure that I felt amazing on my big day.
The staff are absolutely lovely and Gill is an absolute diamond of a woman- all absolutely amazing at what they do. I HIGHLY recommend them if you want to feel amazing in whatever they create for you. My absolute favourite was the beautiful touch of them rebacking my waistcoat with a beautiful pink floral fabric to make me stand out from everyone else who had the same suit on.

There really is no way to adequately express how amazing Dove House and the team within it, are! Everyone, without exception, doctors, nurses, healthcare assistants, physios, receptionists, catering, literally everyone in that building is an absolute diamond. Dad has just had 16 days in Dove House, and passed away there. The care for him, and for us, could not have been any better.
It’s a happy place, believe it or not! Full of wonderful personalities who carry out their jobs with smiles and kindness.

The majority really did a great job, especially the nursing staff and giving us further support to be with my mum. The majority made sure to make us feel comfortable throughout our stay. I can’t praise the staff at the ‘ Welcome Wednesday’ and ‘Friendship Friday’ enough. I took my Auntie who is 95 and has had a very difficult year, losing her husband and sister( the last of her generation)within months of each other. She has been getting lower and lower into a depression that I feared she wouldn’t recover from, she was fed up and had no life, every day was the same as her mobility is very bad. After just a few minutes of arriving, she was chatting about all sorts of things and reminiscing with the other members. Her son also came and everyone was so kind and made us all feel welcome.
Wednesday’s group offered a drink and cake and Friday’s a toasted tea cake or toast which was lovely as my Aunt hasn’t been doing so well at eating lately but she thoroughly enjoyed it.
I have seen no tears since she started the groups which is an incredible feeling and I hope that she will make this a date for her diary.
If you’re interested but not sure if you’ll fit in, please give it a try, no pressure, you can come and go as you please, this could change how you feel about your future.

It’s taken me 18months before writing this status but in late December 2023 my father in law was in need of hospice care, the palliative care team and doctors put a request through to Dove house and we were told there was a space. The nhs staff told us Dove house would call. After 3 days we heard nothing so gave them a call direct. We were then shouted at down the phone, told that under no circumstances should we have contacted them and that IF we in fact were actually on the referrals list then they would contact us and told emphatically not to call again then hung up on. There was no compassion, no care and certainly not even an ounce of politeness.
Marie curie stepped in and offered us so much support at home, we cannot thank them enough. We never did receive the call from Dove house.
As a family now we will not donate to this charity and also wonder if that’s the care given at the first point of contact then what is the rest of the charity like!
