食事エリアは2つあり、味は普通なので外に出た方が良い。
お土産は沢山の種類を揃えてます。
美術品の素晴らしさもありますが、スタッフも親切で丁寧。素敵なカフェが2店舗あり、私は午後から行きましたが、午前中から行って位置にゆっくり廻ってもいいかなと思いました。また次回の出張時には訪れたいと思います。デトロイトにきたら来るべき美術館です。

とても広く、道順がわかりにくくて迷うけど、迷ってもスタッフが親切に教えてくれます。
1階から2階はざっと見たけど時間がなくて3階まで辿りつけなかった。。次回の楽しみに取っておこう。
人も少なく落ち着いてみられるのが良い

I literally couldn’t tell you the awe I was in finally going here. I absolutely love and adore soul and blues, and coming here myself (despite the location being local) was in the works for a long time. Firstly, phenomenal museum; I recommend getting your tickets in advance and then showing up for your tour. The tour is lead by one person usually, and you’re in a larger group. So there’s really no pressure to the visit. You’ll learn some neat little facts about Motown Records and see some of the coolest memorabilia ever. You walk in the studios, basically as they were during the peak of Motowns musical presence in Detroit. If you’re reluctant to go, don’t be! Genuinely one of the best hours spent.

This is MOTOWN so there's not much to say because the history speaks for itself. To see and hear about the history in person was a great experience. There are plenty of facts to learn about Motown that will surprise you. To see the original items and hear the back stories is captivating. Viewing the wall with the album covers was interesting because I still have 11 of those albums. The staff was courteous and friendly. The tour guide kept you informed and interested throughout the tour. They are in the process of expanding, so it will become even more intriguing.

So I really wanted to give this place five stars however be aware that it is a very short tour and when they have accomplished their new building I am sure I will be coming back to edit. Our tour guide was very knowledgable and we definitely learned a lot. My aunt who I was there with is high functioning autistic so people sometimes dont notice and I felt like the tour guide was a little short with her. The tour I believe last less than hour and the end of it getting to walk through such an iconic studio is very cool. The gift shop is well stocked and what made this place was the knowledge of the tour guide. I feel that with out her I would have not really learned much and as I said even though she was a little short with my Aunt I will not take away from her knowledge, her enthusiam, and cadence was superb.

Such a historical beauty! The neighborhood is well maintained. While we did not go inside, the grounds were manicured and the staff appeared to be engaged with the customers in a positive way. Side street parking is available, but there may be a short walk on a busy day. Do not park in the funeral home parking lot next door. I admire the work being put into maintaining this historical gem.

My primarily reason to visit was the The Tuskegee Airmen: Two Victories! There is an additional fee for the section and its worth every penny. I really enjoy the section. The rest of the museum is great. The ship are was eerie but insightful.

This place is a hidden jem. The museum is located across the DIA museum, and I'm surprised by how I've seem to have missed this place. The DHM teaches you about the history of Detroit, and how we came about to be. This museum is HUGE, so go with a clear mind, a well fed belly and your walking shoes lol. There's many interactive stations for kids and parents and the museum did NOT forget a single point of Detroit's history. I 10/10 recommend going here when you're in the area alone or with your family!

広いので、子どもが歩き疲れますが、ベンチがところどころにあったり、中に昔ながらのダイナーを模した軽食スペースがありますし、出口付近にプラムマーケット（高級スーパー）のダインインコーナーのようなカフェがありますので、休憩しながら長い時間でもいられるようになっています。このカフェは出口とセットになっていますが、再入場できます。
お土産もかわいい模型やマグカップなど種類が豊富にあるので、それを見ているだけでも楽しいです。

My wife and I took our daughter here yesterday, and we drive all the way down from Traverse. They had a pretty cool Science show, plenty of activities and a game area my daughter loved. All in all the trip was worth it as she did have a blast. The only reason we listed as 4 stars instead of 5 is that there was unfortunately several things closed off at the time and or just not working. That’s said it wasn’t anything to the point where it would prevent me from returning and this really is a nice place to bring the kids.

Oh my goodness — I am so excited to write this review! I used to come here back when it was the Detroit Science Center in the 90s, and walking in brought back so many nostalgic memories. The lights above the escalator coming out of the movie theater are exactly the same — it instantly took me back to my childhood.
I hadn’t been to the Science Center in 30 years, and I had such a wonderful time. The experience was both fun and educational. I loved how many staff members were actively engaging with the kids — teaching them, helping them make crafts, and answering questions. There were so many great areas to explore — from the cave exhibits to the educational zones — and we spent hours there without ever getting bored.
I even decided to become a member because we enjoyed it so much! The only reason I took off one star is because the Halloween light show was a bit of a letdown. We ended up leaving early, and honestly, it wasn’t worth the extra $3 in my opinion.
Other than that small hiccup, everything else was fantastic. A solid 4 out of 5 stars — and I’ll definitely be back!

I grew up taking field trips here but the quality has gone down.
I was pretty surprised that a lot of the exhibits were not maintained. A few exhibits were of space and planets, but we could not enjoy some of the exhibits because the screens were not working.
They do have an interactive play area for kids under 6 in the lower level. This included a water table, costume area, and small bunk bed room. While this was pretty neat, again there were signs of needing maintenance. I’ve been to this museum maybe 3-4 times and I actually do sadly feel like it was a declining experience. While I think this museums nice, it’s in a lovely location and, I’m a big fan of the rotating exhibits, no two visits will be the same. I’m just not quite sure it’s worth the price range it packs as an avid museum goer. Something that I think would greatly improve this museum, is if they had night exhibits. I have booked the MOCAD for my event (higher education institution) in mid-May for the event in mid-September, after hosting there for at least a couple of years. At the end of July, I had reached out to them for scheduling a meeting to go over floor plans and details for the event, and it took them a whole week to reply, where they communicated to me that due to renovation, they would have to cancel my event. Needless to say, with a month a half way from the event, this presented several challenges. In my response to them (which went unanswered), I have asked them whether this renovation had been previously scheduled, as these are usually planned years ahead, and if so, why had I been allowed to book my event, if they knew they wouldn’t be able to accommodate. It also was extremely challenging to get back the refund of the deposit originally paid (after several attempts, it was received at the end of August).
I have been in the events industry for several years now (both as venue manager as a planner), and I have never dealt with so little professionalism and lack of integrity and communication. The least that the venue could have done was to go above and beyond and help me find a substitute venue, but there was very little to zero care about a lost standing client.

Simply put, the MOCAD is an amazing museum that not enough locals or tourists know about.
There is no admission fee: they take donations and have some items for sale that go towards the museum. They regularly cycle out the exhibitions, which are usually from local artists. Each one I see is masterful, and they incite commentary. I'm particularly fond of the viewing room, which always has some cool short film or exhibit that forces you to be present. The rest of the space flows nicely, allowing you to walk through each area confidently and without confusion. It's always clean (even the bathrooms) and the staff are very friendly and chill.
The MOCAD Café is also a delight. You don't need to visit the museum to visit the café, as it's located directly to your right as soon as you walk in, bypassing the museum all together. What an incredible museum this truly is.
We came here on the weekend and were treated to a 10 am tour with Tom. He was so knowledgeable and wouldn't ever hesitate to go into extreme detail, no matter how mundane you may think your question is.
You can do a self guided tour or the guided tour. I'd recommend the guided one because you won't get all the extra tidbits of information if you just do the self guided.
The collection of cars in here is simply amazing. Many Ford's I've never even seen. Learning about the history of the building was also fantastic.
$50 for myself, my wife and son, which I felt was a fair price. Opt for the early tour as only half the building is air conditioned.

This was a great little museum. It was $5 per person to enter if you are not a resident of Detroit or the surrounding area or a member of the Detroit historical society or something. It was worth the couple bucks. They had entire sections of actual boats as part of the building which was so cool. There were 2 short informational films you could watch. Our guide, Angela was wonderful! Loved her. She had a lot of stories and showed us the best way to go through the museum. My partner brought me here as a surprise for my birthday so I don't know too much about the purchasing ticket process, but I know we arrived a little late and the woman in the visitors center moved us up to give us enough time to get to the main house. Shuttles are plentiful if you can't or don't want to walk. We took a shuttle from the visitors center to the main house but then walked the way back. It seems a lot further than it is, but the views especially in the time we went in the year were amazing. The docents were all helpful and willing to answer questions. The estate itself is beautiful. This was an amazing place to visit and we were impressed by how every detail was thought of. The docents were plentiful and full of information and interesting stories about the history of the estate and the Edsel and Eleanor Ford family. Today we were at Greenfield village for the Halloween evening dinner, train ride etc. So todays dinner was cancelled dur to a poweroutage. Some construction crews cut their power supply and it did not come back on until 4 pm. We were really excited to tey the dinner and was sad it was cancelled however we were told they were already working on refunds for the dinner portion of the ticket. We did the train ride and that was fun. The halloween decoration were a bit cheesy and they no longer give out candy. I guess they stopped doing this during covid. They really need to bring it back. They did have several food and drink trucks and sold alcohol; beer and wine. I did not see any liquor. The whole event was relatively expensive but thete were very few activities overall. However there was a large area that was more like a flea market where you could buy alll kinds of things. I kind of felt that i paid to goto a flea market and that the rest was just decorations. If you go, i would definitely go when dark - after 715 pm. Please bring back the trick or treating....

Lots of historic buildings, cars, trains and things to do.
You can check out Thomas Edison's Menlo park, blacksmith demonstrations, other historic demonstrations, but by far the best thing to do is to ride the historic steam engine powered train and also the original model t cars.
You really do feel like you are in the early 1900s and riding in a real historic 1914 Ford Model T is awesome. It's about a 10-minute ride and the driver explains the history and you really feel like you are in 1920. Everything is period correct including the cars, the buildings, the street lights, and even the yellow stop signs before they were required to be red.
You can easily spend hours checking out all of the buildings, photographing the old cars and trains and still not see everything in one day.

I went during Hallowe’en nights and had the time of my life! There were story tellers, shops, costumes, pumpkins in TREES!! They offered a shuttle service before and after which was great for my grandpa. Kind of small. Its definitely worth checking out, but there were so many wedding photographers that it was lowkey crazy. I think it would be better to visit during a week day rather than the weekend (especially if you're not from detroit.) It is a very nice place though, and it is fine to check out if you're in Detroit. I wouldn't make my entire trip set for this place though. It really is like a visit to another country when you walk in, if you stay for a proper period of time even just to admire the wares on display, you'll walk out of the store almost forgetting you're still in the states (at least I did). Every time I turned around I saw something charmingly captivating that I didn't see on my first look. A lot of the items are also very affordable and make truly unique gifts for yourself or others. The staff are the other highlight - amazingly nice and friendly people who make you feel like you've been invited into their home and they are deadset on taking care of you. After having viewed the creative artwork of Shinkel Fine Art for many years at various Fine Art Fairs in southeast Michigan, we scheduled an appointment to visit their studio & showroom and request the creation of custom pieces for ourselves and our children. My wife and I were invited into the gallery by an older gentleman who i believe worked there, yesterday. After looking at all of the beautiful paintings, we spoke with him for several minutes about what they made us feel, and the crazy things that have been happening. We got to pick colors for our Meditation Globe, and while my partner got started on hers, I had a chance to relax and watch. I was on a visitor pass, so I wasn’t creating a piece myself, but it was still incredibly fun to be part of the experience and to see the creativity flowing.
The class itself was led by Oliver, the instructor, and he made the entire experience so much fun. He was personable, funny, and incredibly knowledgeable. I attended on a field trip with my son's school. It was cool for me because i was able to see the character floats and costumes they wore when i was young. The newer generation wouldnt understand it. The event would be much more enjoyable and informative if there were interactive things. Our guide didnt have a mic, so we struggled to hear her. There is not a set walkthru intenerary, so we kinda cross mingled with the other groups and schools. Its a great place, it just needs to be a better "experience", if you know what i mean.

We toured the parade company with our girl scout troop and their families. I had never been to it before so the drive in felt a little more industrial than I expected but they had new asphalt and it was fine. Then figuring out how to get in took a second. The girl in security booth wasn't visible so we drove around the parking twice trying to figure it out. Lol but once we saw her she opened the gate and we were in. Everyone inside was super friendly and kind. Our tour guide had a ton of knowledge and showed is so much stuff. Every time we passed someone working they would stop and have a chat with us.
