We booked a Superior Balcony Room for one night. Check-in was very friendly and quick, and we were walked to our room by the receptionist. But the view in person was even better! The rooms are wonderful and romantic, the staff is more than heartwarming and did everything they could to make our stay wonderful. It is a very historic Hotel, if you like that kind of thing it would be interesting to stay there. However, the room seemed overpriced it felt dingy and dark and was too hot. She wasn’t at the desk when needed and had to be found elsewhere laughing and chatting. Lovely seating area in reception. It felt like a country pub. Rooms were clean and functional. Staff were helpful (needed a taxi into town). The breakfast was fair but other things like mushrooms, tomatoes hash browns and fried eggs would have been good (I only say this as one of the party of five cannot eat scrambled eggs (dairy intolerance) and does not eat meat, so had a very limited choice). The room is a decent size for the price. Breakfast was underwhelming they were understaffed it seemed like with getting food then having to wait 15-20 minutes for cutlery. Then they ran out of certain food items once again a long wait, on a weekend I would expect it to have more staff to make the whole operation run smoothly. From the initial call with Louisa we knew we had book her, she could just see our vision for the day straight away and we got on so well. Louisa went above and beyond what we expected, and on the day it was like she could read my mind, moving props and details around the barn, so we made the most out of them. We had to do a change around to make the ceremony room into the evening dancefloor, and Louisa took care of everything. We did not have to stress about anything on the day, we completely trusted Louisa and the whole day went so smoothly. We wanted to plan the wedding ourselves, so we just had Louisa for co-ordination, but booked her for set up the day before, the day itself, and to help clear the day after. Louisa also came with us for a venue visit and had a few catch ups with us along the way with our photographer, and just to check in with our planning. Since the wedding we have had so many of our guests say our wedding was the most relaxed wedding they had ever been to, and we completely credit Louisa for this, allowing us and all of the guests feel so relaxed as everything was taken care of. We had a fusion Hindu-English wedding with 2 ceremonies in one day, 2 drink receptions, a sit down meal and party.
