However whilst our bedroom had wonderful views overlooking the gardens and was very large it was in serious need of renovation/upgrading and was very poor value for money (€360 for the night). The bathroom was very, very poor (I think the room number was 52B ) indeed the bath/shower was unusable as the bath had delaminated to such an extent that it was dangerous and could have easily cut feet etc and it was unhygienic hence we refused to use it. At first the hotel claimed not to have noticed the issue however in subsequent conversations the manager confined that they knew about the problem but because the hotel was full they claimed that they could not get it repaired. Rather than tell incoming guests about the issue they choose to ignore it. To be fair to the manager they did refund €100 off the room cost but even at €260 per night the room was poor value for money as there were other issues included some bad stains on the carpet which were unpleasant and worn out furniture - there is a huge difference between rustic looks VS cheap furniture, fixtures and fittings ! Breakfast was OK although nothing special but maybe they could find some money to repair the chairs that we were sitting on as they had holes in the upholstery ! After climbing 3 flights of stairs and getting to the door still without a key, as there was no signage nor instructions provided on where the keys were. That's when I saw the lock boxes from the window and realised where they were. When I went back down the 3 flights of stairs I found our lockbox already open with 2 keycards. I would have at least assumed it to be locked for security purposes, but no completely unlocked for anyone to take. Once I was back to the door and actually able to enter the room I was disappointed with what I saw. It was mentioned that it was 'newly refurbished' and yet it was a double bed room with only 1 chair to sit in, no wardrobe and nowhere for our bags to go. The bathroom was dated, the toilet unclean and no wifi in the room. It seemed that the 'refurbishments' that they spoke of must have been the too big for the room TV. That's when I actually was able to look at the keycards and see it say 'for safety keep the door deadbolted and if you see anyone suspicious to report them to the police.' After seeing that on our keycards our decision was made, we weren't staying there out of fear for our saftey. I then rang the staff for the 3rd time and told them 'we won't be staying here, we don't feel safe.' We were met with an 'Ok' and then being hung up on. Overall I do strongly implore you to look at it from our perspective. We booked what seemed to be a beautiful townhouse with a view, only to recieve little to no communications from either accommodations until we contacted them. Then we were 'Upgraded' to a sub-par accommodation with no view and a toilet containing a prior guests faecal matter. The fact that it's non refundable adds insult to injury, and makes both accommodations seem like scams.
