プランパレ地区の中心に位置するパテック・フィリップ美術館は、時計製造と19世紀デザインの愛好家にとって魅力的な目的地です。かつての時計工房に収容されているこの美術館は、スイスの著名な時計製造業についての広範な洞察を提供しています。

世界三大時計の1つの博物館。コレクションと製造現場をさっと見て回るだけでも価値がありますが、じっくり見て回るなら2時間弱見込んでおいた方がいいと思います。
4つのフロアからなる博物館です。音声ガイドは台数に限りがあります。興味次第で所要時間がずいぶん変わりそうです。

時計の歴史そのものと言って良いぐらいの歴史を持つブランドのミュジアム。膨大な量のコレクション。
残念ながら館内は写真撮影出来ない。
いち企業の博物館としてはかなりのボリュームです。丁寧なことに多くの展示品にオーディオガイド(英語)がついており、気合が入っています。時計好き、アンティーク好きなら行ってみる価値はあると思います。
今やなかなかお目にかかれないノーチラスも簡単に見ることができます。
パテックフィリップの時計が歴史を追ってひたすら展示してあります。最初に4階に上がって、1階まで順に展示物を見て行きます。すごいです。こんな時計があったのね〜って感じ。指輪型とか、鳥かごの裏につけたりとか、扇子につけたりとか、やたら針と星座が付いてたりとか、宝石が散りばめられてたりとか。。ものすごく価値のあるものなんだろうな、ということはわかるんですが、いかんせん展示物が多すぎる！あと違いがわからないくらい似ている展示物もたっくさんある。。私は途中で飽きちゃいました。時計が好きな人は楽しいのかなぁ。ま、せっかく来たし寄ってくか、くらいの気持ちで笑
時計の歴史と、パテック・フィリップの歴史の両方を感じることができます。
大きな構成としては、0Fに入場ゲートがあり、時計技師が目の前で時計のメンテナンスを行うところを見学できます。エレベータ裏にはシアターがあり、来場者はまずそこで時計の歴史を学びます。
その後エレベータで最上階(3F)に登ると、図書室及びパテック・フィリップにまつわる人物の歴史展示があります。
2Fに下ると懐中時計を中心とした、携行時計のコレクションが展示してあり、
1Fに下るとパテック・フィリップ製時計のコレクションが展示してあります。
特にミュージアム建設を記念して作られた複雑多機能な時計は圧巻でしょう。
中にカメラやスマートフォン等は持ち込めず、地下のロッカーに手荷物をすべて預けることになります。
入場料₣10の他に、ロッカー利用のために₣2コインが必要となるので、入り口で両替してもらいましょう。（ロッカー利用代はロッカー解錠後返却されます。）

Je reste mitigé quant à mon expérience. Tout d’abord, le prix de 15 francs pour une visite qui dure moins d’une heure me semble un peu élevé, surtout quand on sait que de nombreux musées à Genève sont gratuits.

We were disappointed by the permanent display at the Red Cross Museum. It was small and a bit disorganized. Some of the descriptions weren’t aligned with the actual displays and we had to search for them. The museum also undercut its own achievements and accomplishments and could have had more displays, exhibits and details on its history, role and responsibilities, etc. We actually went through it twice because we thought we had missed some rooms and/or displays. The audio was automatic in some areas and in others you had to put in the numbers.

This museum is a gem. The building in itself justifies a visit. Also, it has a wonderful cafe in the first floor. The collection is rich and arrange with care. However, the exhibition before entering the collection made my visit a fantastic experience. The room was arranged to make visible the members of the different nations one would find in the main exhibition. Artists and activists from some of the different groups were invited to interact and choose an object from the collection and then tell their experience and reflection. Even if other museums in Europe are engaging in similar processes (all to be celebrated!), the MEG stood up for me and touched me particularly. Visitez l'exposition permanente et vous serez sûrs de vous livrer à un exercice de repentance post-colonial. L'histoire des objets, elle, ne semble guère importante : très peu d'information sur chaque cartel, la disposition des collections donne une impression de méli-mélo (le tout fait passer le musée pour un vulgaire cabinet de curiosité). Récemment, le musée a mis en place le "parcours dialogue" qui permet aux visiteurs d'être informés sur le caractère dit "sensible" de certains objets (au point d'être parfois retirés). Ces derniers, même en vitrine à des milliers de kilomètres de leurs lieux d'origine, n'en restent sûrement pas moins sacrés et il ne faudrait pas chiffonner des communautés à l'autre bout du monde, pensez-vous bien !
Par ailleurs, certaines pièces sont déjà retournées là d'où elles sont venues il y a un siècle ou deux. Avec toujours le risque qu'elles finissent pillées ou détruites (mais a-t-on encore le droit de le dire ?).
En soi, la salle principale (la seule) peut amuser des enfants à la vue de ces artefacts insolites, voire folkloriques, mais pour un adulte (à fortiori, un chercheur), il y a de quoi rester sur sa faim. Je passerai rapidement sur le fait que le café du MEG est davantage rempli que la salle d'exposition...
Pour conclure, j'aimerais faire part de mon indignation quant à la manière dont est tenu le livre d'or du musée. Il ne devrait pas être accessible au jeune public : ce n'est pas un carnet de gribouillage !

The Reformation Museum in Geneva is always worth a visit. This was not my first time here, I had also come before the renovation. Back then, the museum felt very authentic, almost like a time machine that transported you directly into the past. With the renovation, the space has become more modern, refined, and in line with current trends. It’s beautifully presented and easier to navigate, though it perhaps misses a little of that raw historical charm that gave the old version such a unique atmosphere.
One important point to highlight: this museum is dedicated to the history of the Protestant Reformation in Europe. The basement which had videos including black lives matter and Barack Obama's inauguration made no sense whatsoever. It was a bit disjointed. Still worth the visit if you are in Geneva but I wouldn't make a special trip. Go ahead and pay the extra 5 francs to see the excavations of the cathedral next door. Small but very informative and well designed museum. It provide detailed explanations of reformation in easy and simple approach. They have rare selection of objects. The staff were very friendly and helpful. You can get a combined ticket with St Pierre to go up the towers and to the archeological site - well worth it. I like visiting botanical gardens when I go on a city break and this has to rank amongst the best. Beautiful, well tended gardens very much with a natural focus but with more formal gardens too. Lovely meandering paths and water gardens as well as a fabulous set of green houses. Definitley worth a visit. We went twice in one long weekend. We had the guide walk us through the top two floors, explaining the idea behind each artwork - it gave the whole visit such a rich experience. 現役の教会でもあるので宗教的目的でこの聖堂を訪ねることもできるし、上で挙げたような考古学的展示が目的で訪ねることもできる。どちらの点でも大変すばらしい大聖堂だと思う。
