ハンピからコーチンへ向かう途中でマイソールに立ち寄りました。時間の都合で滞在は短めでしたが、夜のライトアップされたマイソール・パレスは本当に壮観でした。まるで夢の中に出てくる宮殿のような美しさで、しばらく見とれてしまいました。インドの王族文化を感じられる貴重なスポットです。昼の姿も荘厳だと聞いていますが、個人的にはこのライトアップが特に印象に残っています。おすすめです！
宮殿に電球が張り巡らされていて、時間になった途端に一斉に「バッ」とライトアップされるのは圧巻の見応えがあります。
夕方までは宮殿の中を見学できますが、大量のインド人観光客に飲まれながら回らなければならず、ゆっくり見学するのは難しいです。
宮殿の中は土足厳禁で、靴は宮殿入り口横のクロークに預けます。
クロークから宮殿まで素足で歩きましたが、アスファルトが熱いのと小石が転がっているので、予備の靴下があると役に立ちます。
マイソールで外せない観光ポイントということで行って来ました。
コロナの影響だからか、外国人観光客はほぼ見かけず。
インド人観光客でごった返していました。
日曜日の夜のライトアップもなかなか美しかったです。
日中は宮殿内に入ることができますが(有料) 靴を脱ぐ必要があり、且つ預けなければならないようで(有料、5ルピー)、事前に袋持参、靴を入れることのできるバッグで行きました。

外国人は1000ルピーです。
靴の預かりは無料です。
日中は南門からしか出入り出来ないので注意が必要です。
日中だけしか見てないので、出来れば夜も見たかった。。。普段は日曜の夜しかライトアップしないって事で、残念です。

The front building is an auditorium which is opened only during some occasions ... The actual art gallery is behind this auditorium. It's a renovated old palace wherein the royals of mysore lived when the old wodden palace got burner down....
Tickets are to be bought at the entrance of the complex.

At the ground floor there is the clock collection of the king , ivory artwork , sculptures of the kings and many many big paintings of royals and the events they took part in.... These paintings are very big and old and truely are soo beautiful
Photos are fully prohibited inside the gallery ❌❌❌ so couldn't take any .... Nonethless it was a feast for the eyes
The architecture of the building too is very pretty .... Soo many wooden structures , tall columns and multiple chandeliers... The whole setting is just too aesthetic.
As you go up there's a gallery of artwork by artists of various art schools like Bengali art school etc....
There's a whole section of Raja Ravi verma's artwork .... The highest amount of his art in one place in india ? ..... They are soo large and soo soo beautiful ... Completely mesmerizing!!!! Words could not describe how surreal the paintings felt when seen in real life.
There are many other artwork of various artists ... In another floor there's a whole room of wooden structures which are ornatley carved. seating , cupboards and many many more ...very royal in elegance ...
Another room is filled with various objects of royal patronage like corals, royal utensils like glassware and many more
In last floor there's a room filled with board games of olderm times and musical instruments used and preserved by the royal family. The room is completley wallpapered which makes it look soo beautiful.
All in all... The place is heavily underrated as not much crowd was present when we visited ....
It's truely a gem of a place.... A gallery of royal opulence and elegance of the highest order.. loved it through and through !

I had the privilege of visiting the Mysore Sukhavana Avadhootha Datta Peetham SGS Ashram, and it was a profoundly enriching experience! This sacred ashram is a haven of peace, tranquility, and spiritual growth.

This place is a cash machine for the people running it. The birds in aviaries on concrete floors, no greenery inside at all. Teased constantly by the lush interior of the compound that they cannot freely roam. The publicity they put online is far from reality.

We decided to visit the cafe basis the menu on Zomato but eventually were informed that the menu has changed. Though we were a touch disappointed, were later glad as the ambience here was very breezy (as we were seated in open) and the weather, pleasant. The menu though had changed, was interesting. The ambience... seating outside is preferable based on the weather. Outside seating comes with a caution... the area also is a smoking zone.

Anand sir is a talented artist who is very dedicated and hardworking. I was in India only for few days and really wanted to learn and take home with me a Tanjore painting. Given the short amount of time, when I enquired at few places they didn’t agree that it will get completed. I’m so glad to have found Anand sir as my guru. From the beginning till the end, he spoke positive words, and was flexible to teach me with more hours per day. He is very patient while he teaches and explains it in a way that is easily understood. Even his wife is very friendly and equally knowledgeable. Each piece of art he creates is so unique and on par. Every minute details are defined. Two of us even got lucky as he took us on a tour to mysore palace to explain about the old Mysore paintings exhibited too. If you are looking to learn Mysore or Tanjore style painting look no further!
