I lived there for 9 days with my niece and eight year old son. The location of the boat and surroundings were so serene, one could just sit there for hours and soak it up. This houseboat is perfect for female travelers, solo female travels and small families with little kids as there is plenty of space for kids to run around and have fun as opposed to bigger house boats where one is mostly restricted to their room and living space and decks are to be shared with other travellers. Shabbir bhai was such a nice host and he kept special care of us in terms of security, travelling, shopping etc. And the home made food that they served, I absolutely loved it. Anyway back to the topic, we were finally given the the room at 5 PM. someone was already staying in it 5 hrs into our booking…reality was they gave our rooms to someone else and then whatever they found that was getting available at that time, passed onto us. Though liveable, it was nothing like the pictures…no lake views, it wasn’t even a boat, they sent us in the very back somewhere and the guy said this is the best they had. Remeber that 100 things in the facility, what a nice joke. Even the 2 water bottle in the room was used and empty. Beed sheets weren’t replaced. And they guy never picked up the phone, when we were suffering with thirst. There is only two very basic dinner options both with overly inflated price. I was even charged for sikara back to gate after checkout. I’m tired, If I was not on a vacation, I would have written a whole book called Scam on Dul Lake. Save yourself, just book something else. The huge lawn and porch are great to let the kids run around wild. The hall cum dining area is fantastic to let the kids unwind at night and the adults enjoy a great conversation. The gas heating was great at times of electric outages. The rooms were very well appointed and kudos to the acrhitect again. I am not putting up my own pictures since the ones already up do it justice. Its got enough blankets and linen to keep your comfortable. The electric blankets on the bed were the best and our kids didnt face any issues with sleeping. The kitchen is great and the house helps cum cooks are fantastic at serving great food as per your taste. We didnt have an issue with our food requirements for the kids or the oldies and we were very well fed at all times. Would come back during the fruit season and hope to meet Auntyji!
