Last time we vacationed on the Oregon Coast we ate a Pelican Brewing in Lincoln city. At first we wanted to eat at a more local spot figuring the chain restaurants may not be what we were looking for. The place was quite busy and there was an extended wait but in the end the food was amazing.
This time we were at Cannon Beach and with such a good experience last time we decided to try it again, and again everything was just great, and again there was a long wait 🤣 but that was to be expected.
I had the cod fish and chips and it was delicious. Fish was perfect, not over saturated. Fries were fantastic too and the beer, as always, was great. Kids had clam chowder and I had to sneak myself a few bites because it was incredible too. Don’t think twice, it’s worth the wait, the food is some of the best you’ll find in town.

We stopped in for dinner here while staying in Cannon Beach for the evening. Even though it was a Thursday evening it was very busy and we had about a 20 minute wait to be seated but we enjoyed a beer while waiting.
The atmosphere was nice, very busy and on the louder side.
Our waitress was very attentive.
Our meals in the other hand were mediocre.
My husband had the ahi tuna poke which he said was the worst tuna he has ever had. He also noted that the ginger was over powering. Very disappointed in his meal.
I had a bowl of clam chowder which was good and a side salad which was a heap of lettuce with some almonds. It was difficult to cut the lettuce into manageable pieces on such a small plate. Our daughter had a large salad with a side of sirloin strips that were ok Her friend has the fish and chips which were non descript.
It was not a good dining experience and we won't return. There are other restaurants nearby to try out.

Came here with some friends and family after visiting the coast. The restaurant was busy, but we were able to be seated pretty quickly. Only bummer was that our friends had their dog with us and we were told we couldn't sit outside due to the patio only having one server and being filled up. Poor doggy had to go wait in the car, but otherwise our meal was pretty great. The clam chowder was warm and delicious. Fish and chips were crispy and yummy. What a great experience! We stopped in on a Saturday night, and despite being busy, we only waited 10-15 minutes. The interior of the restaurant is quite large and very welcoming. It feels as if you are eating in a wilderness resort.
The food was fantastic! We started with the clams and oysters, both of which were delicious. It just got better when our mains arrived. The crab ravioli was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. Last, but certainly not least, the staff. Our waitress, Julia, was simply wonderful! She did great at her job, but more than that was her personality. She was extremely friendly and fun, joining in on conversation and playful jokes going back and forth. Just the experience of having her as a server is worth the stop!

Big brewery near the beach. Parking was fine. Was sat down fairly quickly even though it was very busy. Food was good. Fish and chips were crisp and tasteful. Clam chowder was very delicious. We had a late dinner here on the memorial day weekend, we got a table fairly quickly- the service was quick, the ambience is lively and it’s a beautiful brewery. We got the Tsunami Burger and the Crusted Salmon- Both were amazing choices and cooked just right. The burger was juicy and the salmon moist and flaky.
Also got the Key Lime cocktail which came in a decently sized serve was delicious and the only reason I couldn’t order it again was because they ran out of one of the ingredients!
There’s a lot of seating inside and on the patio, so if you have a dog, the patio is dog friendly which is a great plus!

We visited Pelican Brewery in Cannon Beach on a Saturday night as a party of three and waited about 30 minutes for a table, which is probably to be expected on a busy weekend evening.
I ordered the burger, cooked medium-rare, and it came out perfectly — juicy, flavorful, and exactly as requested. The other two in my party had the clam chowder, which unfortunately was a bit of a letdown: overly creamy, bland, and lacking much in the way of clam or potato pieces.

Enjoyed dinner here twice during our weekend stay at Cannon Beach. There was a short wait on Friday night as well as Saturday night, so Saturday we sat at the bar. Service both nights was on point. I’ve always liked Public Coast Brewing, but my visit today was a let-down. My $35 fish and chips arrived with the tartar sauce container melted into the fries, and the fish was so overcooked it was tough and dry. The presentation alone made it hard to want to eat, and the quality raised concerns about food safety.

We were able to enjoy our morning coffee and here at Sleepy Monk Coffee roasters. Although we headed out early there was a long line outside, however it moved at a nice pace. We ordered our coffee and bagels and a yummy orange chocolate chip scone. I tried the special pumpkin spiced latte however it was very light on a pumpkin flavor. Going to this place eas one of the best experiences of the Cannon beach. We got to watch artisans make their masterpieces (the have public glass blowing sessions in the morning - 10am I believe and 12pm). What a lovely experience. I thought there was going to be a live demonstration but I didn’t question its absence. I was captured by several pieces and multiple artists’ works. I walked away with a sea turtle coaster from Alligator Pt., FL because it reminded me of the splendor of the wild Gulf of Mexico and my years spent near those waters. He is a largely self-taught glass artist who has been working for decades in his craft. It's a hot business with several ovens with molten glass going but there is a plexiglass barrier that allows visitors a real close up look to the complete process. The salmon dish was our favorite and what I would get again. The risotto with the halibut was incredibly rich and filling. Be warned. No room for dessert.

This was one of my favorite meals from our vacation to the Pacific Northwest. We were in Cannon Beach for a couple days in August and came here for dinner on a Monday night.
We sat at the bar and were promptly greeted by the bartender. He provided menus and gave a few minutes to decide on drinks and meals.
We shared the Dungeness crab cocktail appetizer and each ordered meals. I had the lemon caper baked salmon and it was very good. The menu says it comes on a bed of onions and I wasn’t sure how that was going to be but it was very small chopped onion and with the dill sauce on top of that it was delicious. I opted for the side of vegetables and it was a generous portion and they were perfectly cooked.
Our bartender was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was casual and easygoing. The lighting was a bit dim but I felt that made it a little more rustic cabin feeling instead of dark dungeon. The place was somewhat full that evening but it wasn’t loud. Prices were comparable to similar seafood restaurants we have been to.
We walked from our hotel but I think there is a parking lot if I remember correctly.

I ordered the baked lemon salmon and calamari, while my girlfriend had the salmon pasta. The dishes looked fine at first glance, but the flavor was underwhelming and the seafood didn’t taste particularly fresh. From getting seated immediately to having an awesome waitress, we had multiple workers ask us about how the food was and they kept our dining experience clean/uncluttered. The crepes are good, but the prices are OUTRAGEOUS. When I say good, they are $8-10 good, max, not $15 good as currently priced. This is a quaint little FREE museum with really interesting local history. I really enjoyed the old photographs from the 1920s with old cars at Haystack Rock and all the history on the offshore shipwrecks. The beeswax shipwreck was particularly interesting. The museum is small and great for a quick stop to check out artifacts from around the area before heading over to Cannon Beach. I stopped to pick up a Goonies doubloon at the gift shop to use in Ecola Park just like they did in The Goonies! It's the only shop in the area that sells them.

We celebrated our anniversary here. It is all about the food, it is like eating at a friends home full of friends and your host is a 3 Star Michelin chef. It is beautifuly noisy and casual to a fault. The Food, The Food !!! Service was excellent on spot. Wonderfull Cocktails. The Chef came out after our meal at the end of service and chatted us up for 10 minutes, what a joy! After 56 years of celebrating anniversaries this was the best meal of them all (just inching out Mama's Fish House).

We stopped in for dinner after wandering up and down the streets of Cannon Beach looking for something that didn't come out of a fryer or off of a griddle/grill. (Nothing against either of those!) We took a peek at the interesting and varied menu and decided to give Castaways a try. We were SO surprised by the quality of the food! I had the Seafood Étouffée and my wife had the Crab Gnocchi. Both were absolutely delicious, clearly created and prepared with love. We found out that the restaurant is chef owned and family operated by people who are passionate about providing high quality food in a place that doesn't require it. On top of that they had a very nice wine selection at reasonable prices. We've already recommended Castaways to others who will be visiting soon and will be back next time we are in town.

First night in town, a Friday in August, made our reservation at 3pm for 5pm for two people. That seemed to be what they had, so make reservations as early as possible. Reservations seem to be important througout town, so keep that in my for best experience. That said, the food was amazing. Sorry no pics, but we had the crab ravioli and the salmon. Both delicious. Also cocktails and wine were great. Our server, a gent who has apparently been there a long time, was very attentive. The decor is a little all over the place, but truly that is the least of my worries. Food and service was wonderful. We would 100% recommend this place and would go again.

I eat a lot of fish & chips in Seattle so I know casual delicious seafood. These guys are doing it right! It was our first visit to Tom's and we reached there before noon. We were lucky to get a parking spot as the parking lots were very limited. There were only a few tables for indoor seating and we were glad to find ourselves a booth table. Ordering was easy as it was self service. We had fish and chips and clam chowder.The fish and chips arrived hot and glistening with that golden crispy batter. The fries were good. The fried shrimp was ok if a bit small of a serving for the price. The Halibut was awful unfortunately. It was overcooked and burnt and very dry. For all the hype that I heard about this place, I was disappointed in what we got. The food was bland and really oily. We tried the calamari and fish and chips; neither dish had much seasoning (if any) and the breading around the fish felt almost as thick as the fish itself! Screw and Brew is actually a hardware store which our friends who live in or have second homes in Cannon Beach actually use quite a lot. The problem was that everything was fried and dripping in oil .. fried fish was nearly 3x the portion we received at Doogers and super fresh meat texture but the breading was super saturated on oil ... so much that after one piece we removed the breading from the other two pieces and had to wrap them in napkins before eating, buffalo chicken sandwich was haauuge and good but again dripping in oil, calamari was inedible it was so greasy .. there was literally 1/8 of standing fryer oil in the bottom of the bowl they were served in, reuban sandwiches bread was saturated in oil ... corn chowder wasnot very good .. really floury... beers and ciders on tap were good and sodas were typical pepsi products. All in all, the 8 of us enjoyed each other but collectively we all took a year off our lives but eating this $250 dinner.

I had better hopes for this bakery, but it was disappointing all around. The staff was mildly friendly and helpful despite an otherwise quiet afternoon. I purchased $20+ of baked goods, but they were all low-quality. I considered returning the box and requesting a partial refund, but did not want to upset the staff.

Here for the rock and it did not disappoint. Toughest part was looking around for parking but there’s some pullouts along the rode. Beach was pretty and a sunset here is breathtaking. I was recently on vacation in CB and stumbled into this adorable bookstore on a walk! I was pleasantly surprised how many science, nature, feminist, and morbidity/curiosity books were available. I could’ve spent hours looking at the selection. I came back the next day after pondering buying a book- I had been eyeing All The Living and The Dead by Hayley Campbell. When I came in to purchase it, Cami and I had a great conversation- and she kindly recommended more morbid reads for me! She was so friendly and kind. We've been coming here for 20 years. Initially, it was because it was the most budget-friendly place for a single parent with two kids who loved pizza... and because they had the best pepperoni slices and triple cheese slices in town.

This weekend, bc we came to celebrate 20 years of coming to Cannon Beach together as a family, and we were treating friends, we decided to splurge by ordering the extra large 18-inch pepperoni pizza to go. They gave us the plates we made sure there was plenty of Parmesan and chili on it and that pizza didn't last very long. We realized pretty quickly we could've ordered two pies bc they tasted so good. We sat out outside and finished off the whole pie in 10 minutes flat.
Then last night for the first time in years the kids and I actually decided to eat in the restaurant because it was raining pretty hard out… and the patio wasn't going to be a tenable option. Server was great and she was quick. We ordered the A'fetta Salad and the Greek Salad. about $11-$12 each -- the ingredients were fresh and the Greek salad came happily loaded with feta cheese while the other salad was well loaded with the different meats and peppers and tomatoes. We recommend the A'fetta Salad if you are hungry.
Then came the pizza slices -- and they were in the oven just a little longer to make the crispy the way we like them and we inhaled the slices in just a few minutes. We were probably out of there in less than 30 minutes which suited us since we had plans and the tab was around $40. Once again a serious gift for our humble family budget.
Service was friendly, attentive, and prompt. It is our tradition to pick up a slice on our way out of town because it's a comfort food when you have to leave one of your favorite places.

Ecola never disappoints. I have been coming to this very establishment for over 20 years now and it has always been a staple in my family. I would argue it has the freshest seafood in town and you can tell from the quality.
They’ve done a ton of work to expand the place and add more seating which is amazing and allows them to accommodate way more patrons. We love the fast casual atmosphere and the fish and chips are some of the best I’ve ever had. Went here twice in our last trip.
I will say the clam chowder has never been my favorite and the bread bowl sometimes could taste a little fresher but all in all this place is a rockstar.

Way cool of a place! Fish caught and made fresh. We actually saw one of the guys who caught the fish eating there, so that was fun to see him both in real life and on the screens they had in there.
We ordered the fried halibut, and one of our orders came with clam chowder and coleslaw. It was all really good! Kinda pricy, but it honestly was worth it.

Food was fantastic, service was excellent especially considering the amount of customers and they got the orders correct! Atmosphere is lively and casual, tables can be a bit smallish but other than it, atmosphere is perfect for a laid back seafood spot.
There are non-fried seafood options, but hardly none on the side item menu, which was a bit of a letdown. As long as you’re expecting to eat heavier for that meal and exercise later, you’ll be good to go! A really nice spot near Cannon Beach! It’s a blend between a restaurant and marketplace with two floors to eat both indoors and outdoors! We got halibut fish and chips along with grilled halibut that came with garlic bread and soup, both were pretty good! One of the best shows/classes I have attended in my life time. I love cooking, love learning about cooking and this class/show was right up my alley. Chief Bob taught us a lot of concepts in the kitchen from wet salt to dry salt, knowing when to use each and learning produce that grows together/ in season work together on the dish. I asked about the artist and then asked if I could take a photo of the artist name in the store. The owner didn’t tell me I couldn’t or objected at all. When I asked about another artist and whet to document the name the same way he was very abrupt and then told me he would give me the artist name and bio then said he felt uncomfortable for me to take a second photo 😣. Sunday before Labor Day My girlfriend and I heard jazz music outside so we decided to pop by. I planned on getting a cider and she wanted a red wine.
However, after waiting on the couple buying wine before us, neither of the two ladies working actually served us. Although it is definitely an older building, we didn’t feel like we were missing anything that we’d otherwise get at a modern hotel, other than maybe a mini fridge to store leftovers and snacks. We have stayed here twice now. What incredible staff! Can’t beat the location. If you are able to walk about a mile or two really can park the car and walk anywhere. Less than 5 minute walk to the beach. The building is old but I believe this adds to the overall experience.
