肝心の食事の方ですが、飲茶店なのにワゴンが少ないのか中々テーブルに来ません、早めに食したい場合はオーダーするのが良いかと思います。
味は可もなく不可もなくですが美味しい方かな？

本国にはこのようなデザートが有るのか未確認ですが、美味くいただきました。

チャーハンとなすの炒めものを注文。チャーハンは味が薄く、なすは油っぽすぎて、食べにくかったです。オススメのメニューがあるみたいなので、今度はそちらを食べてみたいと思います。

One of the best authentic Chinese restaurant in the area. We no longer going to Chinatown due to bad traffic and parking conditions. This place has a huge parking lot, next to a Asian grocery store. It’s perfect for going for Dimsum and also do your groceries after.

China Pearl is a special place. It’s a cut above the rest for any dim sum restaurant I’ve encountered in the Boston area. If you’re visiting on the weekend, they have cart service dim sum until about 2:00pm. Sometimes there’s a line, but it tends to move fairly quick. I’ve never waited more than 15-20 minutes even when they were very busy. The earlier you arrive, the better. The people working here are incredibly sweet and hard working. It’s a big restaurant that’s pumping out a lot of food and it’s always crowded on the weekend. The food is always fresh and absolutely top notch. The owners are very hands on and you can see them helping out in so many places in the front of house. They treat everyone there like family and it’s a heartwarming experience every time. They’ve even accommodated me for certain items that sell out early by suggesting I call to have them hold a few of my favorites to the side and have come through for me every time. They also accommodate our special requests for kitchen items that aren’t on the carts. I can’t say enough great things about the kind of experience you’ll have at China Pearl. This is a must and absolutely the highest quality dim sum you can find near Boston.
Some of my favorites include char siu bao, chicken feet, sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaf, egg custard pineapple buns, sweet tofu pudding, beef chow fun with gravy, sesame balls, rice roll with fried dough, salted egg steam bun, salty dumpling “football”, and siumai. There are frequently items that roll up on the carts that aren’t on the menu and that I’ve never seen before which is always a nice surprise and adds to the excitement of coming here.

The food itself is decent and some items were really good, though you certainly could get better dim sum elsewhere in Chinatown. However, this restaurant is super suspicious and provides poor service.
Price per item is high, and **the prices are listed nowhere inside the restaurant that we saw and the itemized receipt showed every single item was charged higher than the website said**. I'd love to show our receipt, but **our server chased us down as we left to take back the itemized receipt** and the customer copy was not itemized, just showing the total. Speaking of, instead of receiving a check then paying, **I only ever received a check with the total after I paid**.
On the website, the medium dim sum is listed at $4.15 to $4.65 per order; we were charged $6.50 per order we had. The Large dim sum is not listed on the site; we were charged $7.25 per order. The Kung Pao chicken listed at $16.45 was charged as $18.99. The tea is listed as a complimentary inclusion; we were charged $6 for one small pot. We certainly would not have drank the tea if we knew it was an extra charge instead of complimentary, which it is advertised as.
These overcharges took what was supposed to be a $45-50 ticket into over $70 pre tip!
As for the service, the ingredients are poorly communicated to the customer. We asked for an order of pork dim sum and asked specifically for one without shrimp, but received a order of pork and shrimp dim sum. My wife is allergic to shrimp and had to drink a large serving of water to breathe freely after consuming one dumpling.
All in all, even if the food was the best I ever had, I'd stay away due to the shady practices and poor service.

We’ve been loyal customers of this dim sum restaurant for many years. We visited again today and the food was still delicious, as expected.
However, we had a very disappointing experience when it came time to pay. We paid our bill and left a cash tip, as we usually do. A staff member came over to count the cash and told us the tip wasn’t enough, pointing out that the “suggested tip is at least 15%.”

A rare full-service spot for a hearty Chinatown breakfast.
For me, there’s something special about starting the day with a hearty Asian breakfast, and this spot is one of the few places in the city—let alone Chinatown—that offers a full-service experience. I like to come here once in a while, especially on holidays, and even as early as 8am, this place could get busy.
Like many Chinatown staples, the menu here is extensive: huge selection of small plates, from dim sum and dumplings to rice rolls and more. Each visit, I try to get something new, and so far, the fried turnip cake and deep fried spareribs were my favorites. Other classics like the Xiao Long Bao and Duck Noodle Soup were solid and on par with the popular spots nearby.
However, the bakery section has been a bit of a miss. While the egg tarts are great, the other pastries and cakes were subpar. The cakes have an unbalanced ratio of bread to cream, and the tarts sometimes taste like they’ve been sitting for a day or two.
Nevertheless, Great Taste will always be one of my go-to spots in Chinatown. There’s something irreplaceable about a hearty Asian breakfast, and this place delivers that in spades.

Started with fresh hot tea, iced water, and the standard chili oil and mustard. Wait staff were attentive and professional.
Dim sum was hot and tasty off of the carts. The shrimp dumplings, sticky rice, pork shumai, and custard buns were favorites among the broad selection of dim sum.
The Singapore fried rice noodles were colorful and vibrant with its shrimp, meat, and vegetables. Leftovers were a tasty late night snack several hours later (and the flavors seemed to have soaked in and made the dish even richer).
Note: This seemed to be a comprehensive remodeling effort. Aside from the main dining areas, the restrooms had new fixtures with a clean look too.

We came here on Sunday morning, we didn’t need a reservation, but it does get busier during lunchtime. It’s your traditional family cart style where you can pick whichever dish you like. The quality is OK. Most of the food is kinda on the soggy side, but it does fixate the dim sum craving. Patty, the manager, reached out beforehand to make sure everything was set and that we’d be comfortable. The restaurant was so accommodating — we brought in a cake and balloons, and they couldn’t have been more welcoming.

Place is solid, on the better side of dim sum restaurants that you will find. Food was fresh and the variety was pretty good. Maybe did not have some of the really oddball things you'll find in other places but we may not have been there at the "best" time for that (which is usually the most jam-packed, which I understand).

This was one of the worst Chinese restaurant experiences I’ve had in the area. The dim sum was decent, but everything else fell flat. Service was abysmal — the servers were loudly playing cards in the corner and seemed uninterested in assisting diners.

I went there for brunch. I got there right when they opened and I was the first customer. They were out of their signature shrimp toast which is really why I went but it’s alright. Then I proceeded to order half the menu. MUST GET: tea ribs, papaya salad, mussels. They were all so innovative and delicious. The papaya salad is very authentic to something you would see in Thailand and is an excellent example of introducing people to authentic Thai food. The dumplings were complete raw on the inside and burnt in the outside when u got them, I told the server and they took care of it and apologized and they were pretty shocked how raw they were, as was I. The flavor was not good either in both of the dumplings. The carrot cake is one of the best I’ve ever had, moist, cream cheese forward, and not overly spiced, 10/10. I also got the Dark Wuyi oolong tea which was wonderful and generous. The ambiance was not great, the bus stop is about 4 feet from the floor to ceiling windows, full of litter. I ought to try their dinner some time and not sit by the windows. Oh and their wines are good!

We got the pork + chive dumplings, dan dan noodles, Brussel sprouts, and the yuzu cider beer (all of this split two ways was $45 - kind of on the pricer side as well). Ok so I remember coming to Myers and Chang a long time ago post SoWa and really liking it. Cue me 5+ years later with a guest in town and deciding to take a chance! Unfortunately, it was a bad gamble. I should have listened to the other reviews! We ordered four items to share for two people (what they recommend), and the only pro is that it was definitely more than enough food. We got the hakka eggplant, the wok charred udon with tofu and bok choy, the tea smoked pork ribs, and Thai pork lettuce wraps. It was ALL bland and lacking seasoning, so we requested salt, pepper and something spicy, which did help but was disheartening when you're out at a restaurant - we want food not ingredients! My guest at one point mentioned that some of the eggplant pieces didn't just taste a little bland but also a little raw and undercooked. To her, the pork ribs were basically a bland "block of meat" and there was not enough sauce at the bottom to dip it on. The only item that required minimal doctoring to us was the lettuce wraps because it came with a side sauce. (But no veggies? Just lettuce and pork meatballs and a handful of herbs? Sad.) It's also frustrating when this is a fancy Asian fusion place where the rice is not included and is a separate charge because then the food better be good to make up for that! Other issue was the service: I am not blaming our waiter Jake as the restaurant seemed understaffed but there were a few instances where we had to ask multiple times for things or a food item would be dropped off without a chance for us to ask for anything (serving spoons, chili oils or sauces, etc). Multiple times the food went cold because something we asked for hadn't arrived or we had to catch someone's attention to ask for it again. We packed most of the food as leftovers because my plan is to doctor the food and make it much better, and so we went home and ate something else.
TLDR: Think of going to Myers & Chang as paying for an ingredients meal! I'd rather walk to Chinatown and have better food with maybe a less nice ambiance. If you love Asian food and need a blander diet, this is the place for you. Otherwise, steer clear.

Wandered in here late night not sure what to expect. The ordering process was certainly different. Servers were a little chaotic but it seems to work for them. Seems like a get in, get out kind of spot which in Chinatown isn’t at all unusual.
Tried the Mapo Tofu and I was kind of blown away by how good it is. Didn’t expect the food to hit quite like that here. But it’s one of the better versions I have had in a while. Last year we asked a couple Chinatown business owners where THEY eat, and they recommended this place. We finally made it there today and was not disappointed! This place was probably one of the best restaurants I've eaten at in Chinatown, Boston. They were packed, as I heard from other customers they usually are. If you come as a couple or on your own expect that you may be seated at a large table with random patrons which shouldn't be a problem, if you're there to eat you will not be disappointed with the food it was exceptional, diverse and affordable. I wouldn't recommend bringing children here as it is definitely not a place for a slow or fussy eaters. At very busy restaurants in Chinatown the custom is to eat your food and not linger so the next people can be seated. If you prefer slower dining you may want to try somewhere that is not as busy. Most places in Chinatown are not handicapped friendly and have stair entrances only.

I’ve been in the States for 10 years, and this was hands down the WORST dining experience I’ve ever had. The food was bland and forgettable at best, but that was the least of the issues. Please, read other reviews before you waste your time here — people have literally found bugs, hair, and who knows what else in their food.
We arrived around 11 PM and politely asked the server if he had any recommendations. Instead of helping, he snapped back with a nasty attitude, saying, “just look at it yourself, I don’t know.” Extremely unprofessional. The place is a actually in the basement. Neat inside, servers were kind. The menu selection is HUGE. There were 238 items on the menu plus 14 chef's suggestions, so 252 total. Tried the number 2 appetizer, portion sizes were good. Mostly fried food for the appetizer. For $48 and they bring the love eel to the table so you can see and it’s still terrible and chewy it was a shame. :-(. Shangri-La (四川小館) unfortunately is closing, but this review is a tribute this gem of a restaurant, my favorite Chinese / Taiwanese restaurant in all of Boston.
I first started coming in 2003, when I stayed over in the suburb of Boston with relatives one summer. My aunt said there was a restaurant in Belmont, rumors were that it was opened by the former dim sum chef from the Ambassador Taipei Hotel. We went and I fell in love with the food - both the standard dinner menu and the wonderful Taiwanese brunch that is available on the weekends.
Everything I ever got on the menu was absolutely delicious - I could literally order anything and feel that they would do a good job - the food would arrive in a timely manner, piping hot, mouthwateringly flavorful.
My absolute favorite dish here is the Cellophane Noodles with Minced Pork (螞蟻上樹), also known as “Ants Crawling up a Tree”, which is a Sichuan dish of noodles that has bits of ground meat mixed in (the dish evokes its poetic name). The noodles are so-called "QQ" (very chewy with a unique texture), and it comes with general amounts of amazingly spicy sauce / broth. When I traveled through Sichuan, China, I tried to look for this very same dish, but every other version so far has failed to live up to the one at Shangri-la.
The other must-order dishes on the weekdays include Ginger & Basil Chicken Casserole w/ Bone (三杯雞) aka “3 Cups Chicken”, and Fish chunks with Chef’s Sweet and Sour Sauce (糖醋魚條). Typically I also get a vegetable dish such as Sautéed Spinach (清炒菠菜). If there is a bigger crowd, I also try to get the following:
- Crispy Orange Flavored Beef (橙皮牛)
- Oxtail with Brown Sauce (紅燒牛尾)
- Chef’s Tea Smoked Boneless Duck (樟茶片鴨)

This is a mixed review for their food and service.
5 stars: The Taiwanese brunch is fantastic. Really really good pork belly buns, turnip cakes, soup dumplings, beef noodle soup, soy milk, crullers, you name it. The lines that form outside in any kind of weather attest to how good the brunch is.
3-4 stars: For dinner and lunch, they are average. There are a few really good dishes, a few below average, hence an average rating here.
2 stars: For take out, something happens to their food on the way out the door. The vegetables get soggy, the sauces congeal, the oil separates. I'm not sure why, but the take out is exceptionally bad, even if the dish is good if eaten in-house.
The wait staff are super sweet, and yes, as some reviewers have said, no-nonsense when they are busiest at brunch time. Go when they are less busy and you'll see how nice these women are. The owners handle the register and take out orders and are perfunctory.

Always filled with people (locals & tourists alike), rare to find a seat without waiting. So we took the chance to get lunch here. Lunch menu price is acceptable, not the cheapest, at $11.50 per dish plus white rice, no soup nor spring rolls.
Dishes came out lightning fast despite a much filled restaurant, probably within 5 minutes of ordering. Authentic taste, not too oily, and the good balance of savory & sauce. Recommended.

Wife and I went tonight (Friday). We got right in with no wait, which was nice. With it being Friday night, they were busy so the service wasn’t the fastest, understandably.
We got the spare ribs, pineapple fried rice, and traditional Singaporean dish, Hainanese chicken (the whole reason we went). Never having had hainanese chicken, I loved it! Will definitely be back for more. According to another review I read on here, it is very authentic (I personally have no way of knowing if authentic or not). The pineapple fried rice was not spicy, but very tasty.

We have dined here before and have also been long-time fans of their other location in Philadelphia, which we have visited for many years. This is a great place to get some good chinese food in Cambridge,MA. I absolutely loved the pork soup dumplings and chicken dumplings as well. We also got roasted duck and a Tofu dish to try-both were also delicious. Lots of students at Harvard recommend to come here and try the dumplings and they were absolutely right. I found this place on Google maps because I was looking for something that was close by to the Boston South Station so that I could walk over to my train there after eating. I was the only one standing in the restaurant, but still the staff were very attentive, and lovely. I had the popcorn, chicken and the bone battle. I really wanted to love this place as everything on the menu sounded great. The staff were kinda mundane and service seemed unusual slow. Overall a couple of things make up for the place not being top notch in my opinion. We were seated to the table near the entrance to the hidden staff part which means a lot of dirty dishes etc were carried past us. The xiao long bao were tasty overall but the dough structure wasn’t as good - it was almost try at the top, and the dough was too thick and not as elastic. They didn’t serve bowls to deal with the dripping growth a bit more easily. Also, the sauce they served had too much vinegar in it and it wasn’t possible to mix your own sauce, add spicy sauce etc. The staff were not very welcoming although they were efficient in serving people. Tried a few items, all had an above average rating for me. My 5* worth review is for the Beef Brisket Noodle Soup. The meat was very tender and succulent. Price to dish ratio is average with a lot of their items priced higher, but also they have a very nice ambience and the best part is the ease of placing an order per table basis by just scanning the QR code where every individual can add their own times collectively for the table. Definitely worth a splurge for dim sum!
I was sad to see that the China Pearl was closed, so we went hunting for another dim sum spot in Quincy. This is probably one of the best places to go to!
Very open and spacious, with lots of hustle and bustle about. Plenty of free parking in the plaza area. When you go in, you take a number and wait to be seated. You'll notice that it is VERY loud in here, and everyone/everything compensates for the noise level, which just makes things louder.
You can be seated with a small table or a shared table with other patrons.
Once seated, you pick out all of your choices (fantastically labeled with pictures and English on the menu) by circling on a menu with quantity, and everything comes out in batches as they become ready.
You will be served by anyone and everyone; you don't have a dedicated waiter/waitress. It's actually kind of fascinating to see how people just show up, serve your food, and then disappear to keep the internal flow of food and service going. There's even a robot that roams from the kitchen to the front for take-out services. There's no awkward small talk, just straightforward and business-like. Don't take it the wrong way; it's just the culture here and it works. (However, pay attention to how they bring your food and cross it off of the receipt as they go... because with the number of patrons in the restaurant, we learned the hard way that it is easy to have requested items forgotten. They forgot to get us a few food items and a drink, but not a huge deal for us though.)

The savory soy milk was tasty and came with some youtiao pieces in it, but a bit more sour than I'd like compared to other savory soy milk soups I had and didn't have any tiny salty shrimp in it. next time I'd try the sweet soy milk with a side order of youtiao to put in it as many of the other patrons were doing. The Chinese jjajjangmyeon was pretty decent. But I think I personally prefer the sweeter and saucier Korean jjajjangmyeon. The scallion pancake beef roll was kind of amazing. It was a crispy fried scallion pan cake rolled up with tender beef slices. I would 100% get this again. The pork steamed dumplings were pretty basic imo and nothing really out of the ordinary. I probably would not get it again. I was expecting a fluffy meat filled steamed bun/bao type, but the translation of the menu seemed off.
The place is pretty busy and there was a little bit of a wait but they seem to cycle through the tables quickly.

We've only had the weekend Taiwanese brunch here. Food is pretty authentic with a good variety. Some of our favorites here are the soy milk, beef and scallions Xiao bin, and the steamed pork ribs with sweet potato. These are consistently good and well prepared, especially the Xiao bin which has a nice crispy crust. The soy milk actually have a lot of soy flavor and not too sweet. The beef noodle soup is fine but is mostly salty and has no depth of flavor. The filling in the chives pie is decent but the wrapping is greasy and doughy.
Service is efficient though not very friendly. Prices are not cheap for the type of food. We come to this restaurant purely for the food. It's a bit dim inside and furnishings old but relatively clean. Overall, it's great to have this restaurant to get a taste of Taiwan that we miss.

Their salty tofu pudding with fried donut pieces were fantastic! I was surprised they carried this particular soup that's only available at the night market. The entire experience really brought me back home and gave me a nostalgic feel. Loved that the waitress had a Taiwanese accent as well when she was speaking in Mandarin to us.
