Absolutely excellent, especially considering the cost. Rates to play are very reasonable here and the course is without question one of the nicest in the springs.
It's a really pretty course with lots of mature trees and great views of the mountains. Don't forget to pause and appreciate the views, hole 8 is one of my favorites.
Not exactly challenging, but not boring. I played here 10 times or so this year and enjoyed it each time.
Course is kept in pretty good condition. The bunkers have plenty of sand and the fairways are well kept. The greens were in excellent shape all year - though right now (September) they've taken a big hit. In past years, they played extremely slow with very little break, but this year they had good speed and provided enough of a challenge to keep it interesting.
Practice-wise, their chipping green is great and had a sand trap, and the putting green is solid. Driving range isn't great (more below)
I chose a 4 star here instead of 5 only because of the following:
- driving range is mats only, and many of the range balls are so old they don't have dimples left. Plus, the cost ($8) for a small basket is steep for the 25 balls you get. The other sizes are more reasonable but this isn't the best place to hit the driving range if you actually want to practice. Cherokee Ridge is nicer and costs less with grass surfaces, or Pine Creek is similar cost to Patty and has grass as well.
- they have some silly rules that negatively impact the experience. 1 is the fact that there are no martials, so pace of play is often slow. Expect a 5 hour round, sometimes more. 2 is their rules on rain checks. We got rained out after 9 holes and they wouldn't give us a rain check on the back 9 despite the course being closed. Even if you only played 1 shot, once you tee off they won't do rain checks. A
- lastly it's tough to get a good tee time, but that's really just a reflection of how great of a course it is. It's hard to justify playing somewhere like Pine Creek for $120 when Patty is in better shape and costs half.

We went to swing clubs at the range and blow off the steam of a long week.
A couple of buckets of balls is super affordable and you can grab drinks and snacks in the shack next to the range.
It’s such a chill way to hang with my husband, enjoy the beautiful views of the Rocky Mountains, and work on your swing. It’s one of my favorite day date destinations.

Located close to downtown. It's great for a quick 9 and lunch or dinner. Dining is available borh in and outside. Great for meeting people and some of the best sunset mountain views. This is not one of the technical courses in Colorado Springs but for a relaxing social setting its perfect. . Its an open layout with forgiveness on the sides. The greens are great and can be deliciously tricky. Love the vibe and fun people that play here.

Had a great experience, it was my first time playing here visiting from out of state. The starter was friendly and helped me read the course and greens while I waited to play. We’re gonna call this the country club of the area. The course layout itself was really good and a little challenging.
Now for the cons.
The fairways are rough with lots of patches, the roughs are definitely gonna be a rough.
Tee boxes need to better marked and treated with a lot more attention.
Do not forget your score card the carts didn’t have them but they are inside when checking in.
The cart paths are run down, and bumpy.
The signage for showing the next hole as no markings. Had to look and search for different holes and spend time looking for the next tee box.
For a quick round and if you don’t mind the course being a little run down and older the money wasn’t bad.
Layout was good, but course needs some maintenance.

I really, really enjoyed this course. Would be 5 stars if it wasn’t for the fact you have to hit off a mat on hole 10. I thought the greens were in exceptional shape. The course was well maintained overall and clearly had been given some good love recently. I found the clubhouse to be charming in a nostalgic way - I found myself wondering how everything looked in its heyday. The surrounding area is…rough…but you wouldn’t really know where you’re at because of how well the course is hidden. Definitely will be back. COS is hurting for good public courses and this one deserves to have more folks play it to bring it back to life.

If you enjoy playing golf for 6.5 hours then this is your spot. Course on the week days are decent. Not too bad of a wait except for twilight rounds. However the past 2 weekends have been awful. I am fully aware that this is a municipal course and times are going to be a bit slower. However, the club house had two groups ahead of mine that simply could not keep up and course marshal was no where to be seen. Then they allowed another group to start on the back 9 ahead of us making the turn which increased wait times even more. I waited no less than 20 minutes to tee off on each hole and the second shot. It’s a public/municipal course but it needs to be managed better. Multiple players were forced to leave the course early simply because it was too long of a wait. Price is a bit high for the course too. Bar/restaurant are great. And staff is friendly

I JUST started golfing. I had literally never played a single hole on a golf course until yesterday afternoon.
I had been to Valley High one other time to use the driving range. My buddy and I asked the staff when a good time would be for people who don't know how to golf to get on the course and take our time. The gentleman said when it starts to get cold and on week days. So we chose a Tuesday afternoon on a 45°F day. There was NOBODY else there but for a few pairs well ahead of us on the front 9, and 1 pair was set for tee time at 3pm. We let them go ahead of us from the start.
Everything was peachy. We started at 2:30pm. We were getting to the 7th hole at about 4:20pm when the cart guy came barreling down the fairway to tell us we were taking too long and to HURRY IT UP. I told him this is quite literally my first time golfing, so it's not going great/quick. He made some snarky remarks but, he backed off a bit. He still insisted that if we take 4-5 shots and don't make it to the hole, to move on. Now, it's on me for not checking what time they close up at, but given this is my FIRST TIME on a golf course, I would've appreciated some patience and courtesy on this gentleman's part. We were having a great time, and really making MUCH better time than I had expected until he came down on us. We got the cart back to him at 5:02pm. As we were driving out of the parking lot, we saw another pair on the back 9 taking their time. Who knows if he gave them as hard a time as he gave us, but this interaction really put a damper on my first day of golfing.
That guy needs to chill. I feel all he needed to do was let us know that he'd appreciate if we got the cart back by 5pm. We would've moved along and done that for him. Instead, he held us up to tell us how we're taking too long.
Aside from this, everyone inside has been pleasant and very helpful.

Good course overall. Felt very rushed by the people behind us as they wanted to start earlier than their tee time so we did not get to actually enjoy the course. People in front of us were taking their time and eventually cussed at us for waiting on them. Stuck between a real pickle the first three holes and eventually left early. DON’T WAIST YOUR TIME OR MONEY. To begin with the good. The greens and fairways were in good condition. The bad was it’s extremely expensive for what it is. Paying $120 for a round I expect friendly staff, top of the line carts, great practice facilities, that’s not what I got. The staff was extremely rude and condescending. I went with 4 golfers and a kid, which I approved before we booked. They made us pay for the kid to be a golfer and rent clubs. They then made us split up because we were “5 golfers”. I tried to explain the kid might hit a couple balls but he wasn’t actually playing. That changed nothing. The carts were really basic as were the practice facilities. Practice balls not included. Outside the narrow fairways were just huge amounts of 3ft tall weeds which I feel like is just because they done want to take care of it. The sand traps are were terrible having mud and very little sand. There was a crazy amount of water all over the course and it hadn’t rained. There was also a lot of construction which is just an eye sore. Go to any other course.

I'm going to give an honest review of this public golf course. So the greens are in decent shape that's about all that's in decent shape, although the tee boxes are okay. The grass height in this place is just willy-nilly with how they cut the grass.The grass in the Fairway I'd say is at least an inch longer than it should be, the second cut is at least three inches longer than it should be, which makes it easy to lose your balls from just right off the fairway, which for a course that charges in excess of $80 per round kind of crazy. There's basically mounds of grass from cutting everywhere on this course..all over the fairway, on the fringe of the green, everywhere making it close to impossible to play your ball where it lies. Updating this review following my round on 4/29/2023. I was hoping that avoiding this course for a year or so would give them time to get it back in shape, but this hasn't been the case. I honestly can't believe they are still in business with how poorly managed the course is. PLEASE see the attached photos of one of the fairways we played on. This is pretty much what the entire course looks like. No grass anywhere, potholes, sinkholes, massive piles of dirt and debris, it's honestly insulting. We paid about $65/person, and in hindsight, anything more than $20 was a ripoff. It's such a shame because it's such a good course in terms of layout, but the course is so mismanaged that it'll probably be replaced with a neighborhood in a year or two. This is the last time I'll ever play this course. Farewell!

This used to be an incredible course, but now it is absolutely one of the lowest quality golf courses I've played in my entire life, and that's not an exaggeration. I gave it a couple chances this season, hoping the conditions would improve, but they haven't, yet they are still charging nearly double what you'd pay at other PRISTINE local courses like Patty Jewett or King's Deer. The horrendous quality and the sky-high prices are probably why it's the only course in the city that you can get a tee time pretty much whenever you want - because nobody is booking times here anymore. Honestly, I'd be surprised if this is even still here in a few years. For what it's worth, I have had good experiences with the staff here, and the course itself is great in terms of layout and views, I just wish they would take care of it, or stop charging out the wazoo. It's a damn shame.

It’s a nice course. We were able to play by ourselves but waiting for others in front of us was such an annoying experience. It rained as well for a good 5 to 10 min when we were there and the little bridges helped. There were a lot of walkers as well which made golf time much more longer. This could have been the worst course i have ever played. Not only do you tee off of dirt, cigarette butts, and weeds, but you can’t see the fairway if it’s 5 yards in front of you. Great course for the cost and my go-to place for practice. Grass driving range that's always in good shape, practice area with sand trap and chipping, and a large putting green. Greens here are in good shape most of the year, and they're challenging enough without being overwhelmingly difficult.
They only have one 9-hole regulation course, but you can play it twice off of different tees if you really want to get 18 in. Personally, I just like to play 9 holes. Course is fun, not too challenging, it's your standard municipal course.

Cherokee Ridge is such a great spot to play! The Par 3 is always a blast and usually in really good shape, and the regulation 9 is just as nice. I play here a lot with my son and we always have a fun time. The staff is super friendly, it’s easy to book a tee time online, and they’re flexible if plans change. Well maintained course; however, the wife and I went on a Tuesday for our first round there and were surprised to find out that both women’s and men’s leagues were playing that day. Our 9 hole round took us 4.5hrs to complete. EXTREMELY backed up play…and the players behind us were sitting on our tee box as we were teeing off…didn’t give us any respect/space. Why not just block out the day and let the leagues play? Wasn’t told starting play was on the 10th hole either. A few days prior I called in to see if certain wedges were available and was told no, only to find out they actually were available and in stock. We got a bucket of balls to hit before our round—ball box was locked mid-day. Had to wait for an employee to open it up, then he locked it again immediately after retrieving our bucket…weird! The Broadmoor is a historic and beautiful Golf Club which features 2 18 hole tracks.
The fairways and greens were in immaculate condition even this late in the year. Staff was very friendly and the food/drinks were great.

We play the West and East every year but I have to say that playing the West was nearly impossible due to the super fast greens. It was windy and very dry with no rain for several days and they were as hard as rock. Pool table is an apt description. And each one had a false front, or a dome, or dropped away from the mountain. Not the time to play this course. We played this past weekend and there's major renovations going on with the irrigation system that caused them to close half of the East course and enforce an 11am shotgun start to get all groups teed off. There was a temporary green in the middle of the fairway and a makeshift tee box in the fairway that sat on a downslope. There was also several greens that were covered in debris that made putting a nightmare on already difficult greens. All of these issues should have been disclosed and maybe play offered at a discounted rate, as this was not the expected Broadmoor experience.
We made the best of the conditions and enjoyed the beautiful scenery and wildlife roaming and sleeping around the course. Will look to come back next Summer when the renovations should be completed and both courses should be fully open.

Contrary to earlier review, the Kissing Camels Grille is open to guests staying at the Garden of the Gods Resort, a very upscale resort overlooking the Garden of the Gods. WOG is where my love for golfing started! I’ve been golfing here for almost 4 years now, and my husband has been since high school. This is a great par 3 course for beginners and experienced golfers alike. It’s 9 holes along Sand Creek with 2 par 4 holes. You don’t need a tee time to play, it’s just first come first serve. There aren’t carts but you can rent their E-golf bikes for $16 and they are SO fun! I used one up to 38 weeks pregnant (was unable to walk the entire course with my bag at that point lol) and it was a blast!
They host a lot of different events like a Halloween party with food and activities for kids, plus various scrambles throughout the summer. We played in their Cinco de Mayo scramble this past May and though we didn’t come close to winning, we still had a lot of fun, haha!
One of my favorite events is Ladies Night. It runs May-September on Tuesday nights. For only $25 you get ~1 hour of instruction with a golf coach, then you play 9 holes. When you’re done with your round the staff provides dinner and one adult beverage per person. It’s a great escape for moms like me who need a break, and it’s always fun to meet and play with other women who golf, too! My only complaint for the 2024 season was they didn’t have someone on the first hole making sure the ladies groups stayed together. So we’d have groups of men get in between our groups and cause issues. This is annoying because then the kitchen is waiting on the last ladies group to finish and it screws up their timing. Plus the ladies want to eat together! One example: one night there was a single guy, then a group of 2, then even a group of 5 in between our groups. It was painfully slow and a lot of them would hit and play multiple balls even though we were waiting. The single guy even turned around and told us to stop talking because we were distracting him (and he was terrible… like don’t be like that when you’re not even good, bro!). So I’d love if Bobby could be out there next season to make sure we’re taken care of during our round.
WOG also has Glow Golf on Friday nights throughout the summer and it’s SO MUCH FUN. They give you glow in the dark balls to play with (I recommend buying extra on Amazon because if you lose it—and you likely will—it’s pricey to get another). It begins when it gets dark obviously, and you can play until midnight when they close. The range is also open til midnight every night!
My husband and I both have taken private lessons there from a couple different instructors. I’d highly recommend Ray! He’s professional and has a gift for explaining golf in a way that just clicks. He fixed my grip, taught me all about the importance of tempo, helped me hone in on my distances with my irons, taught me how to chip accurately on a slope, and helped me correct a wicked hook I had in my drive. My short game was so terrible for the longest time he’d poke fun about it (oh yeah, he is also artful with the sarcasm and has a great sense of humor, which I love haha), but even my short game is on point now!

Great staff all round and the pro shop has a lot to offer. The food was great both times I've ate here and the bar always was on point. This place really offers the most when it comes to playing golf: driving range, practice green (for chipping and putting), unlimited putt putt, golf simulator, glow golf on Friday nights, and then a fun but challenging par 3 course with the exception of 2 par 4's. This course is very open and above ground with a lot of zigzagging holes. The foliage can be pretty thick in places, making losing a disc rather easy (especially holes 8, 10, and 16). Overall this course at Rampart gets good marks for some distance shots and easy to find start points. However I believe the baskets would be more easy to see if they were white instead of blue. White showing baskets can be seen better with the dark brown backgrounds we have. You shouldn't have to play hide and seek to find the baskets. The second hole is a problem trying to locate. Not a problem if white in color. The baskets at the Cottonwood Course are white and make a huge visual difference! This course as any one who plays it knows is difficult in windy conditions. Had the opportunity to play here last weekend and to be honest I was pretty disappointed. The carts were old and had no GPS, the cart paths were tore up and the tee boxes were in need of a trim. The greens were in OK shape but they had recently been punched so it was like putting on a Plinko board. It would have been nice to have the clubhouse staff let us know that.

We were staying two nights at the fam-camp and decided to go golfing. We did the blue course as the silver course was under weekly maintenance. The pro-shop to check in is actually downstairs. The staff was friendly and the guys did a great job explaining to my youngest about his rental clubs. The greens are well kept and over all the 18 holes was fun to play. The cart girl caught us when we tee'd off and around the 12th hole, for drinks and snacks. Plan accordingly if you have an afternoon tee time with the cart girl as the club house closes the food and drinks around 5.

Course is beautiful and decently kept. My low review has to do with the staff in pro shop as well as pace of play.
I am a veteran with a disability rating, but was charged full price for my tee time. When trying to show my disability rating they refused, BUT had no problem accepting that information from another player in my group who checked in a bit later. I hope it wasn't prejudice but I did feel I was singled out for one reason or another.
As for pace of play. It took us near 5 hours for 18 holes. Even with the ranger driving through, and "enforcing" time. We were stuck behind 2 groups through all 18 holes.
I would like to play this track again, and update my review rating but I am hesitant because of these forementioned reasons.

This course was in decent shape for a military base. We played the silver and it was pretty challenging. The clubhouse was nice but it took far too long to get one hot dog. I also did not like discovering what looked like a bathroom building was actually an outhouse on the course. The turnaround at 9 was just a toilet building (thankfully not another outhouse) but no clubhouse or place to get food or beverages. The temp was about 85° on the afternoon we played and we saw the cart girl only once in 18 holes. So no drinks delivered by anyone or available during 18 holes. I can say I played it but I see no need to return. I’ve played much nicer courses for $60.

Friendly staff, and the course is marshalled, which helps pace of play. I played during the week, and it was not crowded at all. The course is very walkable, with no steep inclines of any sort, and very short distances from green to the next tee. Played in July, so whatever wasn't watered was brown and hard, but the tee boxes, fairways and greens were in excellent shape. Such an adorable location nestled in the wooded areas near the broadmoor neighborhood. This little country club is seriously amazing. The staff is excellent. AND its kind of the perfect quiet location for an epic colorado springs wedding. I am a Colorado Springs wedding photographer and I had the honor of photographing a wedding here last summer.
