It was delicious, all homemade, and the scones were served warm and fresh which is how it should be! I really enjoyed my first stay and was glad i could book it again for this trip. It’s really well located in the scenic part of Lincoln near the cathedral, there’s lots of shops, restaurants and bars near by. Hotel is perfectly situated near the square up steep hill with only about a 5 minute walk to the local pubs, castle and cathedral. The service was mid at best, they never came to see if we needed anything and when we requested more water for the table they forgot it. They also never asked us how our food was when we were paying. That sadly was not the case. The first order arrived the next day and was well packaged. Coffee was lovely and fresh. However, the second weeks delivery of my weekly subscription was nearly a week late and whilst it was rectified pretty quickly, there were no apologies - just "I'll look into that and get back to you. I expect a weekly subscription service to arrive on the same day every week, unlike monthly where you buy in larger volume and a day or two late doesn't matter as much.
