From the first point of contact (from Australia) I encountered respectful and helpful service. When I arrived at the guest house it went beyond my expectations. The start were very attentive and the place was a sanctuary. Some people mention the location but I was pleased that it was in a residential area a little out of town. It meant that the nights were peaceful and it was easy to escape the intensity of town. My room was sumptuous, the food was delicious and I would happily stay for a month getting massages and enjoying the ambience. I will definitely be back. Mukesh and his team were perfect hosts. We were a group of 4 staying in three spacious rooms which were all impeccable clean and well maintained, equipped and looked after. We stayed at Isaioli room in ground floor. It looked exactly like the listed pictures with all modern amenities yet in a heritage kind of house. They try to be environment friendly. The property itself is 250 years old, and yet it is so well-maintained. As a Bengali, the structure reminds me of the traditional, old affluent family homes of North Kolkata that are famed for their Durga Puja festivities. The thick walls and high ceilings of the house provide a natural cooling which is quite necessary as the heat in Pondicherry can be pretty brutal. I sadly had to work two out of three days that we were here, so I spent most of the day on the well-decorated terrace under a hut, attending meetings on the high speed guest wifi while my parents went on the trips suggested by the owner Simon. He was a great help and one of the reasons we had such a wonderful experience.
