This adorable coffee shop caught our eye while strolling the Main Street. Adorableeeee! Super tiny & tucked underneath a charming historic building. You can tell they pride themselves in the attractive inside which was FULLY decked out in Halloween decor. Loved the custom drawn menu sign. Stayed here while attending a group function. This was the host hotel. It is a stately and lovely building with large campus grounds, wooded, easy walking paths and a shuttle to take you into Saratoga Springs that runs until quite late. There is a restaurant/bar on site with indoor/outdoor seating. A golf course, state park, bicycle rental, mineral baths and an outdoor performing arts venue all within walking distance. Our room was ample size, bed very comfortable and bathroom was small but in keeping with the era the hotel was built. The elevator went out briefly at some point but there is a freight elevator to use. The staff and communications were first rate. Overall our experience was wonderful.

I am writing to provide feedback on our recent stay at the Gideon Putnam Hotel. This was meant to be a special anniversary celebration, and we chose your property because of the wonderful experience we had there some 20 years ago. Unfortunately, the quality of this visit did not align with our expectations, nor did it justify the rate of more than $873.96 per night. The Amenity Fee of $30 is really over the top.
Several specific concerns contributed to our disappointment:
• No staff was available to assist with our luggage upon arrival, and the front desk personnel were less than welcoming.
• The guest room was not of acceptable quality: the overall appearance was dark and dingy, the carpet was worn and in need of cleaning, the beds were poorly made, in addition, the bathtub and towels were old and in need of replacement.
• No complimentary bottled water was provided. We were required to purchase three bottles of water at the front desk for $15.
• The dining facilities did not reflect a five-star rating. The dining room appeared dated and in need of a thorough cleaning and updating. Even the windows were in need of cleaning. While the wait staff were attentive and professional, the overall atmosphere was not inviting. In addition, no lunch service was available, and the dinner menu was very limited. The $22 morning buffet was the only option for breakfast.
Given the cost of the stay, the level of service and condition of the property were not consistent with what should be expected. Our visit, regrettably, fell well short of the standards we associate with a property of this reputation and price point.
I hope you will take this feedback under serious consideration, as the Gideon Putnam has the potential to once again provide the welcoming, high-quality experience that guests anticipate.

I was here for a wedding last month. The wedding was great. The food was wonderful and the event space/ceremony grounds were beautiful. But..
My hotel room was a joke. A double size mattress is what they think is appropriate to comfortably accommodate 2 grown adults. The room was so small that the bathroom door touched the mattress every time we opened it. There was literally not enough open floor space to lay down a mid size suitcase.
Not to mention the incompetence of the front desk staff who was unable to follow clear instructions such as “give a welcome bag to every guest” or “don’t take credit cards from guests whose rooms are already paid for.”
When trying to rectify things and make sure nobody was double charged (without bothering the newlyweds) I was only met with disingenuous apologies and no other option but to bother the people who just got married there. Imagine? Creating more problems for former guests when the mistake(s) were made by the lackluster front desk staff. Spend your $ on a place where you’ll at least get a full or queen size mattress.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Gideon Putnam. I thought it was very reasonably priced compared to other places in town during the race season. I loved riding the electric bike all over the park. What a pleasure it was to work with the team at the Gideon Putnam to put together and host my daughters Bridal Shower this past weekend! The Garden Room was a perfect venue with its beautiful, historical vibe. The brunch was outstanding and our server Anne, was incredibly kind and helpful! The Mimosa bar had all kinds of juice options, including N/A and fruit garnishes so everyone had fun creating their personal and pretty drinks! The brunch was so well done and they didn't rush us through it, even leaving all the yummy desserts out for us to graze on as we went through our games and gifts.
From the day that I called, to the day we met to view the room and determine the menus and setup, to our event yesterday - I've never had a smoother, more professional experience! Everyone who came raved about how pretty the room was and how great the food was and I've gotten several texts from people expressing what a lovely shower and venue it was! These folks made me the hero of the day and I can't recommend them to much! They'll definitely be my "go to" from here on out!

Visited Saratoga for the first time and happy we spent it at the Gideon Putnam. Mackenzie and David at the front desk were exceptional in fulfilling all of our needs. Very nice location right in the park. Building is historic and fancy looking but the rooms are really nothing special. The ceiling in our bathroom looks like it had extensive water damage. Stayed for 5 nights in “suite” room.
I love the history behind the property but it’s not a luxury suite standard.
1 old/slow elevator for the whole building and it was stuck (I wasn’t in it) so I used the stairs 4 floors up and down for the rest of the stay. Ha!
Room service was just ok I think the person only made our beds and changing towels. Some days the floors were not vacuumed , trash cans in bathrooms were not emptied.
Had a grab-go breakfast one morning, the host and server were friendly.
During evening buffet banquet, a couple of the older men that works the buffet line were “rude” considering they are working in hospitality business. We were lining up to get food and these 2 men abruptly moving plates, food and warming trays.
Service at front desk was good and prompt even tho they had a system malfunction that prevented us to go inside the room , or checking in incoming guests

My wife and I recently stayed at Saratoga Arms for four nights. We cannot say enough about how great our stay was. The room was a king suite and was beautiful. The staff was incredible. All very friendly and engaging. Everyone was helpful and had ideas where to eat and shop - we had never been in town. The breakfast is wonderful and beautifully done. The location is great too and right on the Main Street for restaurants and shopping. We will definitely go back!

We had a fantastic stay at the Saratoga Arms. The location couldn’t be better—right in downtown Saratoga Springs and walkable to everything. Our room was lovely, and the staff was extremely accommodating when we requested to switch rooms due to some noise above us. They handled it quickly and kindly.

We enjoyed our stay immensely. This historic hotel is beautifully appointed, and is in a central location to walk to sites, shops and restaurants in town. From our arrival to our reluctant departure, our experience at The Adelphi Hotel in Saratoga Springs was flawless. We felt completely welcomed, comfortable, and well-cared for. The hotel is centrally located with easy access to the numerous shops, bars, restaurants, coffee shops on Broadway.
The king premium room was tastefully appointed and spacious, allowing us to move around easily. The in-room bar selections were excellent, and the large bathroom was a true luxury. It offered all the high-end amenities you could wish for: plush robes, quality lotions, shampoo, and other toiletries, separate toilet/bidet area; luxe shower.
Dinner at the hotel's restaurant, Morrissey’s, was superb—the seafood tower and steak frites were highlights. We were grateful to receive a late check-out, which was fortunate because it was genuinely difficult to leave the extraordinarily comfortable bed. I plan to search for a new mattress and bedding that can match it; I enjoyed the best night of sleep I've had in a long time.

We celebrated the first night of our 17th anniversary trip at the Adelphi, before heading to NYC for the weekend. Fortunately, we were upgraded to the "Alabama Suite" at arrival. We were there for a family wedding and our room (306) was affected by loud music coming from a live band for the entire weekend! Our sleep was very much compromised which made for a difficult celebration in what should have been a joyous occasion.
It’s unfortunate that the manager on duty one of those evenings was so insensitive when we contacted the front desk to express our frustration as she mentioned the town’s “ noise ordinance” code that kicks in at 2.00 am. In other words, we had no business complaining until after 2:01am!

We have an annual extended family trip to Saratoga Springs race track or so go to dinner. When we tried to book this year, we were met with much resisitense from many restaurants until we stumbled upon Winston, the assistant manager of this restaurant. Although we did not stay at the hotel this year, many in the group are considering booking there next season. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

We had an incredibly positive experience working with Eliyana and Echo leading up to our big day and they did everything to make sure our wedding reception was perfect. The food was exceptional, the layout of the tent and cocktail hour was so perfect, the entire team working on the actual day of the event were accommodating, caring and ensured every detail was met. The bridal attendant, Donna, was attentive and took care of us and our family the entire day. The whole team treated us so kindly and made us feel so special. For example, later in the night my hair was getting a little sweaty from dancing so I asked the bartender if she had a rubber band (I could have gone upstairs to the wedding suite to grab a hair tie but didn’t want to miss too much dancing!). She literally took her own hair tie off and gave it to me. When I tell you they did everything they could to be sure we were happy I mean it!!! They made our day so fun, stress-free and everything we hoped for and more. Our guests absolutely raved about every detail of our venue including the food, facilities and service. As a bride and groom, you put trust in your venue that they will make your vision come to life and Saratoga National absolutely did that. They took care of every little detail and all my little requests I made along the way. Plus, the venue itself is absolutely stunning. Our honeymoon got canceled due to hurricane Milton and made our reservation yesterday. The hotel is something we would see on our annual trips to Saratoga and we always wanted to stay here. The hotel is amazing. We were able to check in early and upon arriving the nice ladies at the desk upgraded our room when we told them about our change of plans due to the hurricane. The rooms are spacious, clean and have a nice updated and contemporary feel to them. There is a beautiful courtyard in the center of the building where they have water and coffee. After checking in we stepped out for lunch and when we got back we have a delightful surprise! A chilled bottle of champagne, desserts and a beautiful orchid! The owner was so sweet to go out of her way to make this even more special! The hotel itself is very centrally located in the heart of Saratoga next to all of the shops and restaurants. We highly recommend this hotel and we are so happy we decided to come here. We will never forget how truly amazing this hotel was and the owner is one of a kind. We can’t wait to come back on our anniversary!

We had a fantastic stay at the Motor Lodge in Saratoga Springs. The location is as good as it gets. Parking was easy. The bibe is cool casual - this is not a luxury hotel but we didn’t want one. Checked in on Friday (6/6) for a two-night stay and immediately walked back out and checked into another hotel.
Hotel was not clean (in one of the worst ways) and unacceptable.
As someone that has been coming to Saratoga for over 15 years, there are so many other options to stay at and highly recommend looking elsewhere.

I recently stayed at Bluebird Spa City Motor Lodge; I selected it for many reasons, namely its relative affordability compared to other in-city lodging options, its cozy-looking vibes, and for the fact that it is SMACK DAB in the middle of the city.
Upon arrival at 8 p.m. that night, we checked in easily. The room we got - one of the ADA rooms on the first floor - was just what we were looking for: large cozy bed, large TV with ample streaming options, and a large bathroom with walk-in shower. As we really were staying there only to relax and sleep, other hotel necessities certainly weren't necessary - we survived without room service, an indoor swimming pool, and a mini bar, haaa. With that being said, we appreciated the free coffee, tea, and water in the open atrium area!
Pros:
- A bed that was so incredibly comfortable; I haven't slept so well in a long time, wow!
- The large mounted TV came with cable, Hulu, Disney+, et al. It was great to unwind with some of our favorite shows after a long day out.
- Super quiet! I saw some other reviews discussing noise from the atrium, but we heard virtually nothing.
- Regarding ADA bathroom features, there were plenty of grab bars throughout, a walk-in / roll-in shower that didn't leak into the main bathroom floor (Yay! I've been to many other hotels where the roll-in shower leaks / floods the rest of the bathroom floor), and a comfortable shower seat.

- Regarding ADA features in the bathroom, they were ample as noted above. However, there is only one large light in the bathroom and the shower area itself was slightly dark; an overhead light in that area would have made things a bit easier to shower in the evening for my handicapped partner - something for consideration!
- There were only windows in the bathroom + one long frosted window by our door that "looks" into the atrium. It made the room a little TOO dark during morning hours when I would have appreciated a little sunlight...but also made for better sleeping with a darker room, I suppose. Ha!

The Batcheller Mansion is absolutely the way to stay in Saratoga Springs! Located right across from Congress Park, it’s walking distance to a bulk of the big sites to see in Saratoga Springs. We hardly drove, which was a pleasant change from our completely unwalkable hometown 😂
Martha called us the day before our reservation to give us details about check in, which were much appreciated! We checked in and we’re pretty sure we were the only people staying at the inn on that particular night (it was off season in Saratoga Springs), which was SO COOL! The mansion was so incredible and we took lots of time to explore it! There are a lot of articles and historical details around the house to learn its history and Saratoga Springs’ history.
Breakfast was amazing every morning and little snacks, tea and cocoa are left out throughout the day. Martha was always very quick with breakfast, even when we were a few minutes early most mornings and it was easy to “place our order” for the next morning’s breakfast. Emily was our housekeeper on our stay and she was also wonderful, checking in on mornings we requested our room to be serviced to see if there was anything in particular she could do to keep our room comfortable and well stocked.
We stayed in the Kate room, which was huge and wonderful. The bed was very comfortable, the room had a digital alarm clock with a built in white noise machine which was cool. The closet and bathroom are also huge and the claw foot tub was so comfy to soak in after a day of walking around.
If you’re planning a visit to Saratoga Springs, the Batcheller Mansion is the way to go when looking for a place to stay!

This is a sad review to write because we used to love this place. Last October 2024 was our fifth time at the Brentwood. It is unfortunately a shell of its former self. Locked and dusty bar, no campfire, no bikes, no guests vibing together in common spaces, no staff at all!
What happened? Even in the height of the pandemic, drinks were served through the order window and someone was onsite at least part time to manage the campfire, offer you snacks etc.
Not only did none of this occur but it was not possible to reach any staff. The contact number provided in the check-in text was disconnected. Emails sent to reservations went unanswered. The only reason we had wi-fi was because I eventually tried the 2023 password. I was worried when I saw the social media accounts go dark but this was truly next level.

We have stayed at the Brentwood several times and really like the hotel and especially the location. On September 20 we had a confirmed reservation but when we arrived the door would not open. We called the emergency number they provided only to learn by a recorded message that our reservation had been canceled due to an unspecified emergency. They obviously spent a lot of money on their website and having access that led us to believe that this would be a perfect location for our families weekend getaway. Upon arrival, my family of five and three other couples were unable to access the room despite having a code. Each and every one of us tried to call the listed number as well as send emails. My family went for a walk in the beautiful congressman park to see if we would have some kind of response from the management team, however, after two hours, nothing was answered, so we went back to take a video of proof of the inability to access this location.
This place is a glaring red flag in any recent good reviews must be fake.

Brentwood hotel canceled our reservation because the hotel had an “emergency and were forced to close” which isn’t really a big deal however we were not notified they canceled. I only found out because i had called to ask a question and that was what was stated on their answering machine. They still charged for the reservation. While the room was cute and served its purpose, there’s definitely room for improvement. The Wi-Fi kept dropping; not a huge issue, but definitely frustrating. The comforter was dirty, which made me uncomfortable, and there was a noticeable amount of dust that could’ve been easily taken care of with a quick swipe of a Swiffer.
Housekeeping also barged in unexpectedly, I didn’t even have a chance to say I was still in bed. This was surprising, especially since I was under the impression that there wouldn’t be any service during the stay.

I loved living here. You don't have to worry about anything, because everything is taken care of without question. The pool is wonderful. I spent a lot of time enjoying the sun and chilling. It's perfect if you have a dog. The walks are smooth and there are a lot of fellow dog lovers. There are ponds on the property which attracts many beautiful birds. The clubhouse can be used for parties and you can book the theatre which is very cool. We used the theatre numerous times. No need for a gym membership, they have a nice gym. We grilled all the time. The ladies who ran the place were lovely to deal with. I lived in 2 other apartments in Saratoga, this one was well worth every penny with all of the amenities and the clean lifestyle. We first lived in the one bedroom for 2 years, and then upgraded to a 2 bedroom when we had a child. If we didn't move away I would still be there. I can only recommend the Paddocks! It was a wonderful chapter of our lives living there. 🥰

This place is pretty awesome. They don’t mess around when it snows. Plowing, putting down salt, clearing walkways. The maintenance guys here put in work! They’re very friendly too. Front office is great. This is just a cool place to live because you are not going to have those little quality of life issues you have at other apartments. Also, the lawns here are immaculate. They maybe water it a little too much. In the summer, lawn care comes 2 to 3 times a month. Yard looks like a baseball field when they’re done. And this may be neither here nor there to you, but if you like frogs, you’re in luck. We have lots of frogs in the summer.

The Paddocks is a wonderful place to live! I have been here for over two years and plan to stay as long as my lifestyle permits. The office staff are wonderful, friendly people who will help with anything you need. If you call for a repair they are there the same day. If you are a single woman I highly recommend this place since it is safe and quiet. Families will love it too since there is so much to do. It truly is like living at the country club. The tennis courts, workout facility and pool are steps away. The grounds are immaculately kept in an idyllic setting. It is a $7 cab ride to downtown Saratoga Springs so you don't have to worry about giving up your nightlife to reside in the country. There are convenient shopping centers a mile down the road and access to organic food at Healthy Living Market! The Paddocks has it all!

My wife and I moved into the Paddocks just over one year ago. It’s the best decision we ever made. The apartments are immaculate. The grounds are well-kept. And there is so many amenities to enjoy.
Any concerns that we have had. Were addressed in a timely manner. The office staff and the maintenance crew are always there for us.
If you look at all the other reviews regarding the Paddocks. 95% of the people only give negative reviews to anything or any place they have ever been.

This is a great place to live if you have cars you need to store. There’s no parking policy here, so you can leave them in front of the building for months on end without moving them. Even if you call the leasing office, the most they can do is send an email that will politely suggest that maybe, if they find it in their heart, they won’t leave their extra car in place for months on end. And you can leave as many cars in front as you want. Got 1, 2, or even 3 vehicles you’re paying storage fees on? Just get a lease here and you can take up half of the 6 spots in front of ever building. It’s a really great value.

The Good:
The apartment was nice enough. Was quiet, aside from hearing the garage doors opening/closing under my bedroom. Very dog friendly, and good location. Aside for pigeon "waste" (see The Bad), the grounds were well kept. Learned more about pigeon habits than I ever cared to. Maintenance was good if you have an issue. Nice "dog park" area for your dog to run around, dog waste bags and bins all around, which makes walking your nice. They did pretty good at keeping things clear of snow. Overall living there, wasn't bad, and if not for "The Ugly", I'd recommend it.
The Bad:
The complex is basically located in what I'd call a "Pigeon Preserve". They live in the eaves, under the patios, and they do their "business" everywhere. The property management DOES NOT clean this, so when you walk out your door you're greeted with bird feces. And, not just a little. I asked that they put up screening to keep the birds from nesting under my deck, so I didn't hear/smell them, which they did NOT do.
I lived in the Travers model. There is no heating vent on the downstairs entryway, which means it's just slightly warmer down there than it is outside. In fact, the garage was warmer than the entry to the apartment. You have to get dressed upstairs to go down the stairs in the Winter, unless you want to get cold. And, that cold comes up the stairs, chilling the apartment.
Management isn't the most responsive to initial emails. I'd have to usually send follow-ups, or call.
The Ugly:
They violate NYS State Law and don't return security deposits when they should, and really don't seem to care about it. For this fact alone, I wouldn't advise moving here if you value your money and don't want to have to chase it down after you move out. If I hadn't been so persistent, my guess is I still wouldn't have received it back.
