The hotel area however was really disappointing, we were in room 10 where the toilet seat was broken when we arrived and the toilet continued to flush or at least release water from the cistern every 30 minutes or so throughout the night. There was a locked connecting door to the adjacent room which would be great for families but offered zero soundproofing through the night and morning. Beautifully presented and incredibly tasty, every course was a delight. We were a table for 4, with diverse preferences, and we all agreed our choices were each as fabulous looking and delicious as the others. My highlight was the gingerbread ice cream on my dessert… wow! It's a quiet place, understated, at the higher end of luxury. Expensive at £190 per head, hence my comment about it being for a special occasion.
