The beach access was great with steps up to the dunes and down from the dunes. We were able to manage all that one brings to the beach easily with the steps. We absolutely loved the location of this one bedroom condo as it was unexpectedly quiet though conveniently located near an elevator and stair well. This bright and cheery unit was well equipped with everything we needed to make our own breakfasts and lunches. Every dish, pot and pan, and appliance were clean and in working order. It even had the coveted Keurig coffee maker (at no extra charge). The furniture was comfy, the 55" TV nicely mounted on the wall was viewable from everywhere but the bedroom - which had it's own TV. The furnished Wi-Fi was appreciated. Even though we were on 'vacation' the occasional emergency work email needed to be addressed. If there was an issue, we had trouble with both the Wi-Fi and cable disconnecting, but after a message left at the First Flight Rental office (two separate occasions) , the problem was either called in to the service provider or reset from their offices. I cannot answer definitively because we didn't receive a call back. One suggestion I would make to potential renters...bring your own pillows. There were many to be had in the unit, but they were all flat. We are side sleepers and the provided pillow didn't work for us. The king bed is a little worn as well and we found ourselves sliding into the 'ruts' during the night. Overall, we absolutely loved our stay, loved the unit and will be back next year. First Flight Rentals was great to work with, providing us with all we needed to know via email prior to arrival. As humid as it was outside, we were thrilled that the A/C cooled so well that we often had to turn it up a couple degrees. The pool and hot tub were always clean and never got too crowded, and the ocean is a short walk from the pool. Parking is underneath the condo, so car stays shaded. We'd never been to the Outer Banks and were very happy that though we chose a more commercialized area of the OBX, it was far less crowded than most of our other beach vacations. Croatan Surf Club looked to be at capacity but it never was noisy--though this says more about the other families staying there at the same time. There was so much to do, which kept our teenage, adventuresome boys happy. The Wright Bros Memorial is walking distance from the condo. We also enjoyed an aerial biplane tour, deep sea fishing out of Hatteras (a 1.5 hour drive from the condo), hiking the dunes at Jockey's Ridge, lighthouse tours at Bodie Island and Cape Hatteras, jet ski on the sound at Kitty Hawk Watersports, pier fishing at Avalon, putt putt, and many hours enjoying the beach and pool. Be sure to grab at least a dozen of donuts at Duck's Donuts while you're there....amazing! We highly recommend First Flight as well as this condo.
