I couldn't get into the pot pie. The way it's served is challenging to eat without making a huge mess. The flavor wasn't my personal favorite.

We went here and ordered the fish and chips and open brisket sandwich.
The food was quick and portions really hearty. The fish was beer battered and fried which was really great in terms of texture. You will need to flavour it alot on your own though.
The curly fries were fried and seasoned well - fresh and not stale or soggy. They also gave you a decent amount for the side salad as well.
For the brisket, the portion was good - the meat could have had a little more seasoning but overall it was good.
Lastly‼️ there is a really GOOD amount of vege options for vegetarians!!! And theres items for vegans as well - we assumed there wouldn’t be because it is a pub but we were pleasantly surprised when we got here in person :)

Shifted to kuirau park unknowing since last week we heard! So the winds were blowing cold in the evening so load up on the clothes! Near the playground so it’s good for the kids to burn while we take turns to buy food and eat together. ガイドさんがずっと丁寧に説明してくれて、楽しかったです。
後期高齢者の父を連れて行きましたが、帰りはトラムで帰れたのでいろいろとちょうどよかったです。
「モアナと伝説の海」が大好きで、欲しかったマオリグッズをたくさん買うことができました。ここに限ったことではないですが、スタッフさんはとてもフレンドリーです。
カフェでサンドとサラダ、コーヒーのセットを利用しましたが、15ドル程度でした。ツアーも80ドルぐらいだったので、旅行中では割と良心的な価格設定だと思いました。

マオリ族のショー、キーウィ、地獄温泉？が見れ盛りだくさんの施設です。キーウィは本物に会え、ちょうど食事中のところで感激しました！実物キーウィコーナーは撮影禁止です。お昼はビッフェも行きましたが美味しかったです。ビールを値段を見ずにオーダーしましたが、12.5NZ$と少しあ高め。でもIPAのビールはフルーティで美味しかったです！！一日中楽しめる施設です。

人が少ない時期に行きましたが色んな国の方が来ていて賑わっていました。
ガイドは全て英語なので、ある程度の英語力がないと付いていくのは難しい印象です。
ですが、スタッフは英語がわからない人にも優しく接してくれて日本が好きで嬉しそうに日本語で対応してくれる方もいました(笑)
間欠泉はもちろん、ショーや料理も素晴らしくオススメします！

ビュッフェディナーに始まり、マオリの歌とハカのショー、間欠泉見学と、短時間に詰め込まれていてなかなか楽しめますよ。

The pilsner I've had there was awesome, lager for my missus was perfect too. Beer is a high quality drink and the chips we had with it was perfectly fried and crispy.
Very well treated staff, the guy with beard is very cool and friendly. Well ordered seats and nice atmosphere to enjoy meal and chat.
And for the burger, im lost for words. It was unearthly, super thick, juicy with a perfect sauce and yummy nz cheese.

Came in with a big group of people last night we got orders taken just after 7pm and then 30mins later waitress came back and had to retake our orders as they didn't go through to the kitchen we didn't receive our starters until 8pm and then mains didn't come out until closer to 9pm wasn't overly busy last night. Some of our table their food wasn't cooked properly or how they ordered it to be. Some plates were messy plated and couple of waitresses were quite rude. For the price we paid each last night the food and service could of been a lot better. There was also food being brought out that wasn't even ordered to our table as well but was put on our tables bill. Some orders even got mixed up as well. We had high hopes for this place but unfortunately it wasn't the case. Really disappointed overall

すごく硫黄の匂い！日本みたい！日本ほどの熱さではありませんがその分長く浸かれます！団体客が来る時があるのでその時間を避けられればベスト！

お湯は硫黄の匂いがしてぬるぬるで、温泉という感じでしたが、日本の温泉のようにきれいではないです・・・。ゴミや髪の毛が結構浮いています。
そして30分くらいしか利用できないにもかかわらず高い・・・。30ドル～40ドルぐらいしました。
海外で温泉に浸かったことがなかったのでいい経験と思いましたが、ちょっと割高なアクティビティですね。

吊り橋は思いの外長かったです。単に吊り橋を渡るだけでなく、redwoodがニュージーランドで育てられる歴史の勉強にもなります。
専用のベビーカーでも行けるのがすごいなぁと思いました。
5歳児と3歳児もとても楽しめました！最初は吊り橋なんて怖がるかなと思ったのですが、全然問題なくさくさく進んでいき楽しんでました。
夜8:10からライトアップということですが、その30分より前に入ってゆっくり進んでライトアップを待っていました。結構そういう人が多い印象。
おかげでちょうど夜に変わっていく変化と美しいライトアップを楽しめました。帰る時には入り口にびっくりするほどの行列ができていました。ライトアップを狙う人は、とにかく早めについてゆっくり歩くがおすすめかも。
途中で高いエリアを歩く吊り橋コーナーがありますが、これは足元から下がよく見えて、子どもたちはとにかく怖がっていました。小さな子ども連れの方は高い方のルートは避けた方がいいかもです。
自然の中で遊ぶというと、相当ワイルドで運動神経や体力が求められる印象を持ちがちですが、こういう老若男女にオープンな自然の中を楽しめるアクティビティもいいですね！

Was just passing through town for an evening and decided to give Hennesy's a try. I was not disappointed! They were fully booked (due to the rugby) and still accommodated me. Hennessy’s appealed to us at first sight, about 11 in the morning on our only day of leisure in Rotorua as part of our rather frenetic tour of New Zealand. We came here the other day while staying at the Prince's Gates hotel. We had the early bird three course menu. The entree was kumara soup and the camembert wedges. The kumara soup is quite yum, pairs well with the bread and the portion was generous. Compare to the soup, the wedges was just ok. I think it is lacking some component, maybe needing a salad with it. It doesn't make sense how much you get with the soup option and the cheese wedge option being only 4 cubes of it. The mains we had was the rib eye steak and the chicken. Both options was the highlight of the meal, very well cooked, every components of the dish was excellent. Love the mash potato, roasted veges together. For dessert we had the caramelised custard and the brownie. The custard was too well-done, as it actually gone past the creaminess and become eggy. The orange citrus taste was not bad, the shortbread was just average and could be better. The brownie was good, but could be better pair with a lighter flavour ice cream like vanilla as chocolate kind of overlaps and becomes flavour fatigue after a strong flavoured meal. All in all, the early bird three course meal was still very enjoyable and will highly recommend it to others.

One of the best places to dine in Rotorua. We had our dinner here the first night arriving to Rotorua and it was such a wonderful experience ! The staff was very nice, polite and professional. What a great night. Arrived at the lake and had a safety briefing followed by putting on life jackets and any warm clothing we needed. Set off from the shore under a beautiful bright moon which lit up the water and bays. After kayaking for a few minutes we arrived at a series of caves full of glow worms with hues of blue and green that felt like you were looking up at the night sky, a fantastic close up experience. Absolutely amazing experience. Tom was a fabulous guide and really ensured had a great time while also being super informative about the glow worms and local area. Was the highlight of our trip, kayaking on the lake in the dark was a surreal experience and the caves were like entering another world. Stunning scenery and plenty of things to do up there. It really is a beautiful view and a great family dining experience. With that said, for the price of the buffet, I expected the food to be nicer. The food was excellent, risotto mozzarella balls were crispy and full of flavour, pork belly was melting in the mouth and the salad it came with was outstanding. Where things went wrong was the service, we were asked about our drinks orders before we even set down, the waiter literally stood by our table while I was looking at food menu to take our order. It was two of us (my son and I), we ordered beef sliders from the kids menu and mozzarella balls and pork belly for me. The sliders arrived and my son finished his dinner before my entree even arrived. As soon as an empty glass was put on the table it was picked up and we were asked if we wanted another drink. I was still chewing my last mouthful when the table was cleared and a dessert menu was placed in front of us. 2 min later we were asked if we wanted anything else, when we answered no the bill was promptly brought to our table. We had our dinner and got ushered out within 35 minutes of getting there. It’s not a fast food place, it’s not a cheap place, it wasn’t busy. It was our last night of holidays and we wanted something special, well… it wasn’t.

We got the lamb ribs. They were so delicate they fell right off the bone, and beautifully coated in chimichurri that elevated the natural flavour of the lamb. The sticky pork bites were succulent and tender, with perfectly rendered fat and a nice tangy apple-garlic glaze.

Their 2 person shared platter for $65 was phenomenal value, steak cooked perfectly, chowder was amazing and sides were excellently seasoned. Only minor improvement would be to take the lobster tail off the grill a tad earlier. Bone marrow also delicious but bit pricey.

A five-star experience. The view alone is five stars, but our server, Carmen, curated a delightful experience from start to finish! Carmen clearly knew her wines; she was patient, and her smile radiated genuine warmth.
I lived in San Francisco for many years and we frequented the wine country. I am now trying to lean into the Australian and Zealand wines (whites, Pinots and other offerings) rather than the big bold Cabernets of California that defined the wine education in my youth.
Carmen and I had a big discussion about Chardonnay oak and stainless, and again, it was clear that she knew her wines and especially the Volcanic Hills wines that she was serving. We also overheard her at the other tables educating other patrons and even trying to navigate some language barriers. She remained unflappable. All tables received a great deal of attention from her. This was no mere “pour and go” tasting. Carmen really took the time to educate every table about her wines. Kudos Carmen for such an incredible experience!
We ended up taking home a few bottles. One of them never quite made it back to the states, because we still had a few days in New Zealand, and I opened it up in Wellington!
Our next excursion after the tasting was at one of the Maori cultural centers, and Carmen told us a bit of history of the folks there and how she was related. What a great way to prep for our next experience and dinner. I was also really enchanted by one of Volcanic Hills whites, which is unusual. Those bottles make it home to the states!

I went for the luge rides with my partner in August and we just spontaneously decided to walk into Volcanic Hills Winery Tasting room. Oh my gosh this is the best place I've eaten in New Zealand yet. We ordered the meat platter and a pizza for a group of 4 and it was soo much food.
Usually platter food has like 1 or 2 like good things and a bunch of filler but everything on the board was fantastic! Best chicken wings, best potato wedges, AND best onion rings we've EVER had. The brisket and ribs were also so good. And I liked the pizza we ordered too (Thai chicken).

Unable to use toilet facilities as the smell was truly terrible. To clarify.. This smell was not of the general sulphur smell that Rotorua is famous for. This smell rivalled that of Glastonbury festival toilet by end of the fesival weekend. I would go so far to say that it was a health hazard.
Secondly the bar staff were thieves... 1st round of drinks - thought we may have been short changed but, as we weren't sure, we didn't bring it up. 2nd round of drinks - we were v careful about the amount handed over, politely asked for our $10 change when the barman did not automatically give it to us, barman had his manager throw us out! No change, no drinks. And I would like to point out that at no point were we rude or threatened violence. The manager even said as we left peacefully that she knew we had done nothing wrong!
This place was not just bad. It was horrible and I was glad to leave. I hope people who do decide to visit in the future take great care

I saw a review complaining about bunny poop: dude, what did you expect with giant rabbits running around?! I certainly didn’t notice it, the course felt surprisingly clean to me.

This glow worm experience with Real Rotorua was, well, REAL! Stephen took a small group of us way out into the country and into the forest at night for an amazing, personalized walk with flashlights to explore NZ plant life as well as glow worms. He has perfected places and (flash)lighting for special photo opportunities. Stephen's knowledge of NZ plants, animals, and geology is stunning, but his knowledge of glow worms is that of a biologist!
We were shown not just the sparkle of glow worms in the forest when we turned off our flashlights, but Stephen let us examine glow worms up close where we could see their tiny twig-like bodies (1/2" long) and even the nearly invisible threads that the extend down along their bodies with sticky droplets to trap their tiny prey. He later sent us photos of what we saw as well as our own "glowing" portraits in the darkness. It was our favorite NZ tour!
Real Rotorua is an extensive and fascinating experience that you can access from downtown Rotorua instead of driving for hours to zip through a darkened cave. Stephen was very knowledgeable and shared all kinds of information plus had fun stories about how he formed this ideal tour (so many torches he went through). We went on the Nocturnal Glow Worm tour with Stephen mid-November. It is a small group night hike through a little known forest outside of Rotorua. Steve will pick you up and return you to any centrally located lodging or the Visitor Center. On the drive out of town, he stops first at a viewpoint for a stunning sunset. As the drive continues, once off the highway, he stops to point out unique trees to New Zealand as well as a couple creatures we happened upon along the way. When we reach our destination, he passes out a couple torches to each participant, one with white light and one with red. The night hike proceeds along a forest trail which eventually winds along a creek and ends at a waterfall before circling back. It should be noted the trail is not paved, has an uneven surface with numerous tree roots crossing it. It drops off into the creek in places. I mention this as you need to wear good shoes and consider if you have balance issues. With the two torches in hand, you cannot use hiking poles. Steve stops several places to show us the flora and fauna and when we get to the areas where there are gow worms, to explain just how they glow etc. It is AMAZING. Steve has a wonderful talent for explaining some fairly complex Glow Worm nuances as well as a wealth of knowledge about the area, the Maori culture and just about anything participants asked. As the group exited the forest, he pointed out constellations and even starlinks! Rotorua is known for over commercialized attractions. This tour is like the company's name 'Real Rotorua'. Such an amazing experience
Real cultur, real experience.
So friendly staff, they tell a lot about the maori culture and their history.
So intresting dance haka show and all the expressions are amazing.
At the end they invite the people for a traditionell lunch or dinner with wonderfull traditionell food like roast lamm chicken and potatoes and wonderfull sweet desserts.
We definitly would recommand it to anyone near rotorua.

The service was exceptional in the hotel. We had one of the designer rooms was a medley of patterns for the eyes and on the ground floor (which i recommend). Everything you needed was in the room. The dark-out curtains were a blessing. Parking was good but first come first served style so not guaranteed.
