The Resturant had taken the time to acknowledge our Anniversary and we were greeted with 2 free glasses of prosecco and a plate with specialist chocolates and a lovely message. So far so good, but sadly it all went down hill from here. We ordered our meal and bottle of fizzy, which the waiter said he would open when we had finished our complimentary prosecco, sadly as the resturant filled up and the waiter was very busy serving the other Christmas party's I ended up opening and pouring my own wine ( to be honest this wasn't a problem) my issue was the food. I ordered the Chicken escalopes, with capers, anchovies and Lyonnaise potatoes , all I can say is the only edible part of the meal was the anchovies. The 5 capers with the meal were inedible, the chicken in the escalopes was dry and over cooked and I ended up only eating 1/2 of the 2 escalopes. When a waitress turned up at our table to remove the plates and asked if I enjoyed my meal , I told her no, for which she apologised, she did not ask me what was wrong with my meal but she did ask me if I wanted dessert or to pay the bill.On checking out of the hotel I again raised the fact that our resturant visit had marred our stay, but again no one seemed bothered.

The venue is beautiful in the old building of the evening telegraph, and the styling inside is very tastefully done. Unfortunately, this is the only good thing I can say about the restaurant. When the food finally arrived, the steak wasn't medium rare, the fish was a bite-sized chunk (I've seen larger fish fingers), but the lamb did at least look like a meal.
