I went to a wedding at Red Butte Gardens recently, and it was such a beautiful spot for it. The scenery alone makes the whole place feel lovely, so much greenery and sunlight, it felt like a secret garden.
They even had golf carts to help people with mobility issues and others get around, which I thought was such a thoughtful touch. Parking was easy and stress-free too, which made arriving smooth.
The reception space was gorgeous, the food was so good and the whole night just felt relaxed and joyful. Red Butte Gardens really is a stunning place for a wedding.

Well organized and meticulous maintained botanical garden. I liked the water conservation garden that’s gotten Utah flavor in it. My favorite part is the fragrance garden. I tried to sniff everything there and it was mesmerizing experience except got a bit hyperventilated lol. Honestly many other parts of the garden smelled so good too. Roses smelled like perfume. Smells reminds me pleasant past experiences often. Short trails lead to overlook of the city. A must visit if you are in salt lake.

I found the Red Butte Garden to be utterly charming! There are so many places to tuck away for a picnic along the winding trails and they had fantastic views or relaxing nooks. The app and map were both helpful and even this late into the season there were beautiful sights and smells. Will definitely be returning to explore the hiking trails and make use of a picnic spot.

Red Butte Garden is absolutely gorgeous and such a peaceful place to explore. The walking paths are really well kept, and there are so many different areas to wander through — from colorful flowers to shaded trails and open views of the mountains. We took a hike to the canyon overlook and it was totally worth it — such a beautiful view! The staff and volunteers are super friendly, and it’s a perfect spot for a relaxing day, a picnic, or even just a quiet walk. Definitely a must-visit in Utah!

This Museum was very fun to visit. I got a free pass. So I took me and my wife we enjoyed looking at dinosaurs.
There's a part where you had to put dinosaur bones together to recreate a skull. It was much more challenging than I initially thought.
There's a nice Sun deck where you can enjoy the good weather and have a beautiful scenic view. I also like the Ice Age exhibit that they have and the exhibit about the natives of Utah the Navajo.
I think we spent maybe around 3 hours at the Museum. It was fun and not too crowded.
It is a good place for children to learn about natural history.
Have a nice little gift shop and they also have clean bathrooms. It is a good place for families.
One thing that I like is that they had a sense so that you could smell how certain dinosaurs or certain berries or plants from the dinosaur age. You can learn how they smelled like.
They have some very large dinosaur displays and they also have like I Spy game thing throughout the museum where you have to find like little mamas that are hidden around the the whole museum.
It's a good activity for kids or if you have a membership pass it is fun to do to do something different every once in a while.

VERY VERY pretty but almost completely taken over, unfortunately, by the homeless. Three stars for the beauty but I would probably not recommend if you are a woman or walking alone. That's just me personally. They do have a TON of parking and pavilions and lots & lots of tables for picnics but just felt very unsafe. The homeless were honestly overtaking the park. They had set up their world within the park. It was like the non-homeless were invading. That said, the park was GORGEOUS. Great walking path and the sights were beautiful. Lots of water with wildlife and the beautiful SLC mountains in the back. HUGE loop with smooth, pavement. I'm glad I went - but would not go back and only visited once in my extended stay in the area.

The Salt Lake Capitol building is the first I have ever visited. I study architectural history so I was overly excited to finally see a Capitol in person. I was not disappointed. I spent 2 to 3 hours on a Sunday exploring and people watching. The state and assembly rooms were not open on Sunday but I could pee through the slits in the door The gathering/meeting room was open though. If you are into geological materials you will also love the construction, arches, granite, marble and limestone. I was fascinated by the marble relief in front with the carved fruit and vines. Definitely worth the visit and is a photographer's dream.

INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE! If you’re a bird lover, animal lover, or need something to do on your afternoon I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Tracy Aviary. We were able to spend a few hours here. The different exhibits were so exciting, especially being able to see so many birds up close and personal. There were so many different species.
We opted to do the Flamingo experience where we got to feed flamingos. Eric was extremely knowledgeable and personable. He made us feel very comfortable. He also was able to offer recommendations for the rest of our trip which was greatly appreciated.
The gift shop was great, large selection of items. I would hope for more magnet options but we were able to get one we were happy with. We definitely will be coming back next time we’re in Salt Lake City.

This hike gives you good elevation quickly. Bring adequate water & proper gear. We actually did the hike in November, and it started snowing while we hiked up to the summit. Definitely windy at the peak. If the weather is clear, it could be somewhat crowded. You can get up & down in 75 minutes if you're going at a moderate speed. I traveled from Florida to meet my long distance boyfriend and we stayed in SLC in an Airbnb and he took me on this hike. Now I’ve been on mountains before in upstate New York but only drove up them, never hiked!
So this was very exhilarating for me, easy hike, a bit steep at points, but I had so much fun running up and down. Once I reached the top of the mountain I stood as closest to the ledge as I could. To explain into words how I felt is surreal, the wind blowing wrapping around me like a hug, feeling so at peace, like I could do anything at the top of this mountain. I felt completely free of that makes sense. It was if I was levitating, it brought me to such a wistful place in my mind, that I felt with my entire being. These don’t compare to NY mountains. The trails were nicely maintained and clean. There was a few close calls when running back down but it was euphoric and so worth it haha. I felt like a kid again, my soul was healing just experiencing all these new things with him. So many first times on this trip, and that makes my heart so happy.
I really enjoyed it, and I’ll be back in November. If you ever visit SLC and you’re not used to hiking do Ensign Peak first. It’s definitely for beginners but I surprised myself at how adventurous I was, it was super easy and chill. Lots of families too, definitely worth checking out!

Parking is a little tricky at peak times like sunset. You need to park on the street in a residential area, there is no parking lot. It is approximately a half mile up to the peak. It starts out with a few steps and sidewalk up to the first viewing area, after that it is a dirt path, level in some areas and steeper in others. Came here on the 4th of July and it was breathtaking. We could see fireworks across the entire valley. It is steep, and it’s relentless so plan accordingly. Take your time, the view is worth it. There is a “lower” view that is still remarkable without having to go all the way to the top. This is maybe a 5 minute hike.

Beautiful hike to the top of Grandeur Peak, the flowers and vegetation were beautiful. The 1st mile is nice because you’re in shade meandering through trees and the small creek is running by you. It has been years since I last visited this historic site and I am pleased with the positive changes. There are several large parking areas and so many attractions including gift shops and clean restrooms. The main feature is of course the huge bigger than life statues depicting historical events and peoples who explored and developed this region. Held a wedding event at the Kimball Home. Everything was beautiful! The setting is gorgeous! Most of the staff were very helpful. We did have one on site employee during the event that was quite rude with any questions we asked her. Everyone else was phenomenal to work with and very responsive. There is plenty of parking for guests. Only gave 4 stars due to the lack of air conditioning in the kitchen (too HOT to work in for a September event, wouldn’t be able to use at all for a hotter month event) and no fridge shelves in the refrigerator. I did ask prior to the event if there was AC in the kitchen and was told there was. But there was not. We had to change plans last minute due to the extreme heat in the kitchen.

As someone who has a dynamic disability that is pretty much invisible I would recommend trying to plan this on not a flare day/high pain day
This is not really accessible for someone who relies on a wheelchair as a mobility aid. There is not much room in the trolley to store a wheelchair so transferring could be difficult and would be necessary.

The Leonardo, located in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City, seamlessly blends exhibits of technological marvels with art within its spacious walls and several floors. Also, a unique bookstore is attached to the space. The hands-on activities for kids are much like things you can do at a county library for free. Fun, but not worth paying for.
Our favorite part was an area where we could draw and color but we were told to move on after just a few minutes because a loud field trip group was coming in. It's disappointing that they can't seem to accommodate all patrons.

I visited The Leonardo Museum in Salt Lake City recently, and overall I’d say it was okay. There were definitely some interesting parts, and I appreciated the museum’s focus on the intersection of science, art, and technology, but it didn’t quite live up to the expectations I had going in.
Some of the interactive exhibits were cool, especially if you’re going with kids. There were hands-on displays and rotating exhibits that offered something different than your typical museum. I liked that they tried to blend creativity and innovation, but a few of the exhibits felt a little dated or not as engaging as they could have been.
The space itself is modern and well-located, and I thought the staff were friendly and helpful. It’s right downtown, so it’s easy to pair with other attractions in the area. I also liked that it’s family-friendly and not too expensive, which makes it a good option if you’re looking for something low-key to do.
That said, I don’t know that I’d go out of my way to return unless there was a specific new exhibit I really wanted to see. It’s a decent place to spend an hour or two, but it didn’t leave a big impression. If you’re into science museums or art installations, you might enjoy it more, but for me, it was just okay.

Fun interactive museum for families. My 10, 15 and even 17 year old enjoyed our visit here. Favorite exhibits were the flight simulator and art room. Our visit lasted about 2 hours. Not as big as a museum as others nearby (Discovery Gateway, Natural History Museum of Utah, Curiosity of Museum etc). Curious how often they change up the exhibits. Went in a school field trip and the kids had so much fun. They gave every child these lanyards and adults to so that when the kids got done with certain sections they passed them off. It was a blast. I wanted to like this, but I didn’t. I was very interested in the “Into the Mind of AI” exhibit. I went there as soon as the museum opened. The exhibit itself was good, but the sound of screaming school children ruined it. As you can hear in my video, the kids drowned out the sound of the exhibit so I could barely hear it. I purchased a shuttle ticket for my 15 year old son and his bike to come back from St. George. It was an easy experience. Cool house, slightly awkward tour guide. They lay the preaching on pretty thick about their religion and what the LDS represents which I guess given their reputation as missionaries is expected. We also missed a room because another group was in there and asked if we could go back since they weren't there anymore, they were quite apprehensive and you could tell they didn't want to which was odd we had to push them a little to take us. Couple complaints that make me do 4/5 instead of 5/5: I agree with other reviewers about the pay parking. I also think the membership options being very rigid doesn’t feel very welcoming. If you are the membership holder you always have to be the attendee and they make you show your drivers license which is really intense. I would like the flexibility to send my husband with the kids one day without me but I can’t do that unless I pay more which sucks. Finally I really don’t like having to exit through the toy store, it always turns a lovely time with my toddler into a meltdown at the end. Any improvements to these things would make me so happy!!

This children's museum is great for preschoolers and elementary school kids. My older kids have had fun but there are exhibits that don't appeal to them at all and they get bored more quickly, especially if there is a crowd at the museum making it harder to interact with the exhibits they do enjoy. There is very little for toddlers and only under 1 year-olds get in free.
There are many things to do (unless you're a toddler, see my review for that below). On the main floor there is the hive (balls and tubes for the balls to go in as well as climbing structures and a slide), the construction site (a conveyor sorting system, large foam stacking blocks, a slide, and some small cranes), water tables, a large playhouse with multiple rooms and an upstairs, a mini Macy's grocery store, a small cookie shop counter and stove, a small farm area (chickens with eggs, wooden plants to pick, a large plastic horse to sit on), a bank area, a car repair area, and an art room. On the second floor there is a pinewood Derby style car track, a dress-up area with puppets, a sensory room (I think), a new model train area that is only open for two hours a day (never made it in there), multiple small stem toys at a counter (like a small container of Lincoln logs), an indoor gross motor play area (small balance bikes, a short rock wall, a basketball hoop, large foam blocks, wind/scarf toy, a beanbag toss), an outdoor helicopter and dispatch station, and a Dino area (fossils in a lab and a fossil dig site without any sand or digging possible).
The best exhibits, in my opinion, are the hive, the construction site, Macy's, and the water tables. My kids also really enjoy the helicopter/life flight outdoor area though it is very minimal.
The worst exhibit in my opinion is the dinosaur area. My kids are always disappointed by the Dino area because there is practically nothing to do. They always hope for sand in the dig site, but there are only tools (goggles, brushes, hammers, picks) and the only things to brush at are the broken bits of the exhibit other kids have managed to break off in the dig site. I realize sand would be messy but then don't have a dig site. (Thanksgiving Point's ancient life museum successfully has a fossil dig site with sand or at least they did in the past.) The lab area has lots to look at and that's where it ends--not engaging and the only interactive elements are (1) drawers to open and close, (2) a microscope to look in, (3) lab coats to put on and hang up.
I personally would not bring a child who is between 1 and 2.5 because you pay full price and yet there is hardly anything for them to do. Most exhibits are taller so there isn't much for them to engage with. I don't feel like any of the exhibits are tailored to toddlers. Also the whole museum is very open concept (but at least the stairs have a gate at the top and bottom) so they can go everywhere easily and quickly which can be stressful if it is crowded.

One of my all time favorites in downtown Salt Lake City. It’s a must do if you’re here and want a quick walk in a very shaded (sometimes busy) place. City creek stream runs through this place. It’s a very easy hike with off shoot dirt hiking path ways through out. We stayed on the paved road and the dogs had a ton of fun. Parking is street parking in the neighborhood so that sucks and it fills up fast. There are 3 sections: lower middle top. These pictures are of the middle which has a huge green space and pond and memorials to fallen soldiers and the top. No cars allowed in these 2 sections. The lower section is a small area on the north east corner of state street and north temple. Lots of trees and sitting areas there but small. It’s worth the 2minute walk east get to the middle section. No bathrooms and no water refill stations. So carry your own and hug a tree if you need to.

I visited from Florida to meet my long distance boyfriend for the first time. After ensign peak, this is the second trail he took me on.
The park was beautiful, families having picnics, lovely memorials on the trail and so many dogs a long the trail as well. I’m from Florida so at most we have small hills, I’ve been on plenty of trails down here but nothing compares to Utah. The trails are so clean and well maintained. It made me appreciate Mother Nature so much more. There was a bunch of creeks with little waterfalls and even though they were tiny, I’d never seen a waterfall in my life so I was just in awe taking in all the gorgeous views. Saw many dogs jumping in the water, and running along the trail. Such divine nature, kind people, and the prettiest dogs of all different breeds. If you ever visit Utah I recommend this trail a long with ensign peak because they are definitely beginner trails.
I’ll be back in November though and I am so ready to take on the harder trails and hikes.

My family decided to go try axe throwing. We got there around 8:30 on a Wednesday night and we got right in. There were four of us throwing, you sign a waiver online and then they go through all the rules and safety procedures (no open toed shoes). Then they teach two different techniques.
First was the two hand over the head throw, then the single handed throw. It seemed a lot easier for the girls to throw straighter and have better control using both hands. Eventually they were able to do single-handed throws.
They had you start with 50 points and work your way down to zero. There were circles on the board with numbers from 1 to 5 and a center dot for 6. There were two blue dots, one in each top corner worth 10 points. Each person got two throws each.
My kids picked it up pretty quickly, but my son struggled til about halfway through. He finally asked one of the guys for help and within 2 minutes he was hitting every throw with 3+ points each throw. If you're struggling, definitely ask for help they are very good at teaching you the right technique.
We had a blast. It was $15 per person for 1 hour for up to five people on one lane. 6+ are on two lanes $30 each for 2 hours.
On the way out we were talking to one of the guys and he told us that if you come on Mondays it's $7.50 per person. We will definitely be going back.

This place is awesome. Perfect place to let your dogs have some fun. Nice trail to get to the creek at the end.. There is a smaller water hole in the first half of the trail with calm water and then a larger one with strong running water at the end. The rushing water is ice cold even though it was super hot outside.. These guys are the best! Very reliable and their product is excellent. We had used them in previous years but had added on to our house. We notified them when we scheduled. Jason brought plenty of extra lights and had us set up in no time. He was very friendly and had a good suggestion for how far to run our lights to keep a good look from the street. We also love the option of having them store our lights so we don’t have to use much needed space for 11 months of the year. I would recommend them to anyone who is tired of doing their own Christmas lights!!!!

AMAZING service!!! Such a great experience from the first phone call for a quote, to the scheduling to the install. Jesse and Emily were so great and so fast! They were professional, courteous and super efficient. The communication was excellent. We live in an area of new construction and they checked in with us early this morning well ahead of their scheduled time in to make sure they were here on time without complication. With the expectation this climb (3000ft vert within two and a half mile) was going to suck, it was actually not that bad because it really didn’t take that long(about 1.5 hrs), if you are not going back down this way. I did the loop (going down via the valley instead and connect to pipeline trail back to parking) totally 11 miles and took me about 4.5 hrs. The first mile of climb was a bit painful since it’s steep and full of small loose gravels, plus the cold morning wind. But nothing really technical as long as your shoes have some grip (if you are going back down this way it’s totally another story I guess). I didn’t need poles or spikes at this time(Nov 1st). No snow on trail. Parking wasn’t stressful.

Awesome trail and and awesome view. If you are looking for a peak with a great view this is a good one. It is also a good peak to warm up with if you are planning on doing others down along the wasatch front. This trail head is more difficult then doing it from the Millcreek side. This trail is practically straight up hill and on a hot day you can get cooked. If you come early and come ready for leg day you can summit this peak in no time. There is a ridiculous amount of cars parked along the road every morning, afternoon, and evening I've tried finding a spot in the parking lot. Tickets are given so follow the signs when they make sense. The only good thing about the trail is the view and the fact it's steep. Awesome place to hike with your dog, trail run, or watch sunsets year round. There is much more accessible from this trailhead than the climb to Grandeur Peak. There are miles and miles of trails in gulleys, ridgelines, and along the shoreline. People of all hiking abilities can find something they like from this trailhead. It's also a great place to access the Bonneville shoreline bike road that can take you to foothill, tanner park, or Sugarhouse Park. The actual climb up the ridge to Grandeur Peak is about as steep as it gets. Once you leave the shoreline trail it's about 3000+ feet of elevation gain in just over 2 miles. It's exposed virtually the entire way so it's best done in the early morning when the weather is warm. The top also has snow generally from December-April and can get VERY icy so if you hike it during the winter spikes and/or trekking poles are recommended.

Exhausting trail! One of the hikers we came across said the East side is easier. We were on the West side and it is insanely steep. Quite a few hikers, joggers, and even mountain bikers on the trail. Great place to go ride or attend and participate in events that are hosted at this location. Staff there is great and does an amazing job of maintaining the main track! They also have multiple options and areas for buffet style riding including freestyle ramps and a rut track plus a few other tracks I haven’t been over too yet! Really nice state ran park. We just went to watch some people air out there bikes and we weren't disappointed. The park seems to have two large courses with a beautiful mountain back drop. Everyone seemed to be having lots of fun.

A beautiful evening. 59 degrees Friday 1/3/2025, unbelievably warm. Music Film of John Williams were sold out both evenings. Conductor, David Robertson, has style and grace. He was entertaining with a sense of humor and kept the audience laughing; he was well liked and well received.

Schindler's List, a tragic theme coordinating with the movie, beautifully played by the lead violinist; a sorrowful soundtrack the way of emotions in that the music forces you to imagine the same situation that the performer was in.
The beat goes on, next up was everyone's favorite music...."Star Wars" and other familiar movie music film soundtracks.

This was my first hike in Utah a few years ago. This trail is where I fell in love with hiking. The trail is moderately difficult.
The scenery along this trail is wonderful. There is a stream with a wooden bridge, fields of wildflowers and the views of the lake and Bountiful are incredible!

Great trail for anyone looking for a simple but longer hike out with Mother Nature. It’s ~7 miles and took 2.5 hrs to complete.
