The campsite itself was fine, but the owner’s attitude was rude, unwelcoming, and at times openly racist. I would NOT recommend this site to anyone looking for a relaxed and respectful camping experience.

I paid £520 for three nights in one of the cabins. There were some good: Quirky feel to the experience There are a couple of pigs on site that are friendly The outside seating is pretty comfortable The bad: -There was no one there to welcome us/check us in. We were just kind of left to it and not told any rules/restrictions. - We were not given keys to lock our accomodation or the 'private wash facilities' that came with it - Curtains covering the totally clear windows to the bathrooms weren't actually big enough to cover the window. - About 30 seconds into a shower the water just cut off. Apparently this happens when the owners are using there water (running bath etc) -The ad said the cabins were heated - they weren't - The 'outdoor kitchen' is actually a kitchen sink with only cold water and a single gas hob (little camping stove running from the small butane bottles) - No hot water to the kitchen sink to the sink in the bathroom - Doors to the cabin and bathroom cabin didn't close properly meaning there were large gaps. - Furnishings (both hard and soft) in the cabins were old and worn. I would've gotten over all this if we hadn't encountered an amaxingly rude/agressive man who works there/owns the place on our last night. We arrived back at the site at approx 2215hrs. The email I recieved before arriving didn't mentioned this was frowned upon, it only stated no noise after 2230. No one was there to meet us when we first arrived so we obviously weren't told then either. The man shouted at us for my car lights being too bright (its a modern car with modern lights), he kept addressing his comments to my 15yo daughter rather than myself sat behind the steering wheel with my window open to discuss his issues. My daughter had got out of the car to open the site gate (like every other time we returned), it was dark and she was understandly shocked by a man appearing from the darkness. We spoke to us like we had a combined IQ of 4. I explained we hadn't been told this was an issue he replied in a patronising tone 'we make it very clear'. I still can't see where I should have got this information from. The site would benefit from adding signage around the site to inform customers of what is and isn't allowed/expected. I would've discussed my issues with someone at the site but unfortunately the only time we saw anyone was the above instance.
