The amount of exotic birds they have on the property is unbelievable — everything from small tropical birds, stunning parrots in every color, and huge, breathtaking species I’ve never seen up close before. One of my favorite parts was the peacocks roaming freely all over the grounds — they walk right past you like they own the place and it makes the whole visit feel magical and tropical. We also saw tons of iguanas (big and small) wandering around which added to the adventure feel. I highly recommend taking the tram ride as well — it lasts about 20–25 minutes and gives you a full tour around the entire property. It even takes you to a butterfly enclosed area with cactus and other unique plants which was a really beautiful side stop. But the highlight for us were definitely the birds — the many bird habitats, the pelicans hanging out near their little water park, and especially the flamingo lagoon. There are over 40 flamingos all together, and you can feed them right out of your hand! That alone made the visit unforgettable. They have restrooms onsite, souvenir shops, and even a food truck outside for snacks and drinks which makes it easy to spend a good amount of time there without rushing. Overall, this is a very peaceful, family-friendly, unique experience and I’d highly recommend Flamingo Gardens for anyone visiting Miami.
