Beautiful reflections over the waters can be seen 45 minutes prior to sunrise and of course as the sun sets. The access trail along the chain link fence by the treatment plant on the North side follows the dike on Union Slough. Great sunrise shots from this isolated part of Smith Island. Watch for deer,rabbits,fox,mink,otters,weasels and ferrets. Lots of Butterflies in the Summer! It is a wetland sanctuary so although it looks like a swamp but if one looks closer, there is an abundance of wildlife and natural beauty at ones feet.
