Fast forward to 2025 and this time im going to Litchfield NH for Spooky World. The location is amazing it brings back that old school Spooky World feeling from the 90s and the Berlin Massachusetts days. Mels Funpark is great and with the vip passes although pricy at 87 dollars a piece I felt it was worth it. You get two times through the haunts and unlimited fun at Mels Funpark. This is a place you can go and spend an evening (4 plus hours) with entertainment and for those that drink there's a beer garden and numerous spiked cocktails for your enjoyment. Now onto the haunt reviews: Haunted Hayride: A 20 minute tour covering about a mile of woods with some nicely themed set pieces. Its hard to make a hayride scary so the sets are were it counts and Spooky World nails it as I beleive they perfected and were the first in the business with a haunted hayride attraction in the 90s. Now on to the negative. I felt the tractors moved through the trail way to fast and I wasn't able to take in all of the set in the amount of time allowed. I remember back during the old hayride that the tractor would stop and a small show on certain sets would take place. This needs to happen again. I understand that pacing would be an issue but I'd rather wait the extra time to get this hayride feature back. The colony: My personal favorite, its a 10 minute or so walk through the woods with some nice set pieces and that backwoods feeling. This trail provided two of my favorite animatronics on display at Spooky World and overall the little shacks and winding pathways really had a spooky feeling to it. I have no negatives about this walk at all and like I said this was my personal favorite. Asylum 47: This haunt is one of two set indoors. Its new years and the patients are running the show. Winding hallways lead to the facade of an asylum where you enter and realize that this place is incredibly built for being inside. You go through reception to patient rooms and finally getting a scare from my favorite anamatronic in this haunt upon exiting. Oh and have your best smile on as this haunt takes your picture and for a small fee you can purchase it afterwards while exiting Spooky World. Again no negatives here. Nightmare 3D: This haunt is the last stop and its a fun one, its also the second haunt indoors. Really good 3D paint covers the walls, one of the best clown animatronic scares ive ever seen resides in this haunt and all in all its a fun little walk. Although it is bright inside, the actors made it fun and seemed to be having a good time with this. Once you leave Nightmare 3D you are put into the midway with Zombie paintball, axe throwing, numerous concessions ( try the apple crisp, its amazing). Now a couple questions for the owners: What happened to the horror movie themed haunts? (We need a haunt to bring back freddy, jason,pinhead and all the classics). Where is the old movie museum? Why the decision to go with one continuous que line instead of the pick your own haunt as you feel? I've operated and built haunts in the past and frequent many per season.
