The moment you enter through the grand gate, you’re surrounded by a mix of Roman and Islamic history that’s simply breathtaking. 2024年11月ツアー来訪。
世界遺産のハッサン塔（1195年ー1199年）。本来はもっと高い塔にするはずだったのですが、建築主の当時のムワッヒド朝の3代君主ヤアクーブ・マンスールが死んでから残り半分は建てられず、今の状態になったといいます。
この建築もイベリア半島の一部を征服したムワッヒド朝ならではで、マラケシュのモスク同様、ムーア様式の建築でアンダルシアの香りが漂っています。
ムハンマド5世廟と同じ敷地内にある途中で建設が中止されたミナレットです。
完成していれば三大と呼ばれるのも納得ですが、半分ではねって感じです。
ミナレットの中には入れませんでしたが、前面の柱と共に独特の雰囲気が有ります。
ハッサンの搭は、1195年にムハッヒド朝のヤクークブ・マンスールが巨大なモスクの建設に着手しが、建設中の1199年にマンスールが亡くなったため未完のまま残るムーア様式のミナレットである。高さは88mの予定であったが、44mの状態で未完成のままである。予定の半分の高さであるが世界最大級の高さを誇る歴史的建造物であり、セルビアのヒラルダの塔、マラケシュのクトゥビアと並ぶ世界三大の塔の一つである。ムハマンド5世の霊廟と同じ敷地内にある。

Visiting this museum was one of the highlights of my time in Rabat. It feels like stepping into the pulse of modern Moroccan art.
Inside, the collection spans from early 20th-century works up to today, with paintings, sculptures, photography, and new media. I loved seeing how the museum balances local talent and global influence. Each gallery moves you through Morocco’s evolving art story, and the lighting and layout let each piece breathe.
It’s quiet, contemplative, and I had space to take my time. The plaques are informative, and you get enough context without it feeling like a textbook. I appreciated that the museum also hosts temporary shows and events. It felt alive.
If you go, try to set aside at least an hour or more. Don’t skip the outdoor areas and the architecture itself. And if there’s a workshop or lecture happening, join it, those give extra depth to what you see on the walls.

The waiters are super friendly and the menu is so diverse, they have steaks, fish, seafood, salads and deserts. I particularly like their superb wine selections, you can find the finest wine here.
