Gorgeous history and good amenities. We've been going to Felixstowe for a good few years now from Cambridgeshire, and it just gets better each time. Hardly any litter, hardly any mess or dog muck, lots of things to do, room for everyone, lots of people of every demographic just having a wonderful time, beautiful buildings, the best fish and chips, great place to swim, walk, or cycle...it really is a gem.

A lovely place to walk around. Very hard to park on a nice day. Everyone comes down to the beach to sit on it and tan. If your not into that like me, then you can stroll through the gardens and down the highstreet. Plenty of pubs along the way and food places. Plenty of places to sit and relax and get a nice cold breeze.
I saw plenty of bins and did not see any mess. It was quite tidy.
We stopped for a beer at Bar and Grill. Really nice drinks and food.
When we took a walk back we had to climb up the stairs to the top of the garden. But the views are amazing. Plenty of nice scenery and perfect for photographers like myself.

Great stay for family of 9 in two Platinum caravans. Site/caravans was clean. Friendly staff & the park warden was very helpful locating my lost property.
Evening entertainment was good (Bingo & Quiz) the host was very engaging and welcoming. Courtesy call after we arrived checking all was well. Small park for kids to play. For a small caravan park you have all the basics; but it’s a very short walk to the beach front where you have amusements, eateries & bars. Would recommend & book again!

Reading some of the other reviews, I'm shocked that people didn't take the time to look at a map prior to booking a holiday; and then have the audacity to leave reviews based on their own failure to think. The same sort of people that buy a house next to a popular pub and then complain about the noise!
For our own experience, I think it's fair to say it wasn't perfect but it met our expectations. The caravan was immaculate and modern, even having some games, colouring books & pencils, reading books and DVDs to watch on the modern and well sized TV. Bedding was comfy and clean.
Parking was a bit difficult - I will echo some comments that perhaps the 'vans are too close together, and as there's a good number of caravans which are privately owned, there's a large amount of more static vehicles too making parking that little more difficult.
Bingo night felt a little "cliquey" perhaps due to the high number of incumbents, but was good regardless.
Staff were attentive and friendly throughout.
Pool was a decent size and clean.
Had a phone call on the morning after our booking in to check if everything was OK, which was a nice thought. Communication excellent.
There isn't a huge amount on site; it is a small site, and it's not exactly a tourist hotspot but there was enough, and just a couple of minutes walk down to the seafront and all the amenities there.
People complained about noise - you can hear the docks in the distance but it's not anything to worry all but the lightest of sleepers; I found it rather calming!
The site itself is quite closed in, but generally tidy and felt safe. Only real difficulty we had wasn't the site's fault - a burst water main on the A154 outside the site meant driving into town meant going all the way back up to the A14!
Will happily return :)
PS: Yes it's close by, but avoid the McDonalds just up the road. Tastes like a Temu knock-off!

Do not EVER buy a caravan on this site. Stayed with my other half last week and they was moving one to a pitch, they hit two caravans with the one they was moving, so if you've recently brought a new caravan there check it very carefully for damage. It's quite a few years since I last visited Landguard Fort and it is certainly worth a couple of hours of anybody's time. The history of the place is astonishing, although the current buildings only date back to the 18th century. On a blisteringly hot June Saturday, it was the coolest place in town and I, for one, was grateful to escape the sun's rays.
In fact, my first port of call was to the tearoom, where I partook of an excellent cup of Yorkshire Tea and a couple of nice cakes, baked by a local woman. My bill - a bargain £4.60.
As I supped, two of the many elderly volunteers, without whom the place could not open, as there are only two full-time staff, told me that it had been a really quiet day, blaming problems with the Orwell Bridge and the heat.
So I virtually had the place to myself, enjoying the excellent audio guide I had downloaded to my phone as I wandered around. From minelaying to cold war control and World War 1 and 2 sea and air defences, there's a lot to take in.
My only criticism is that they need a lot more seats for folk like me to perch on for a moment or two, because it's quite a long trek with a fair few stairs. In fact, I 'abandoned ship' on the upper floor simply because I was weary and, as an English Heritage Member who lives just a 15 minute cycle ride away, I can pop in again tomorrow and the next day as well, if only for a nice cup of tea and a bit of home baking.

Not sure whether it’s policy or the volition of individual crane drivers, but moving the crane from one place to another is an anathema to these people.
The amount of time us drivers spend waiting for cranes to move to us is a joke. Had a lovely stay. Short walk to the beach and a good play park for the kids approx 20/25 min still into town. Although the site doesn't have facilities (other than Reception and laundry) it suited us to be so quiet and it's only a short drive to the main site where the swimming and Clubhouse are. It's one of those pieces of nature that sits adjacent to human industry (in this case, Felixstowe port) and is an oasis.
