Nov2024 Arrived from Toronto Union Station by way of the VIA system just before midnight. In comparison to the station in Toronto, Gare Centrale is much aged and functionally challenging. At the main concourse it does not have a central information kiosks for assistance, the lighting is generally dim and the signs are small except for the train status board.
Although they have the more established RESS tunnel system that connects to a number of areas, it is maze like and confusing for the first time visitor and lacks accessibility for disabled people.
We also got to visit their VIA Business Lounge which was very small and pretty cramped and basic.
The general state of the whole station is outdated in terms of architecture and technology. Hopefully it gets renovated someday.

My first real visit to Montreal Central Station - taking train to Toronto. The station is located in city centre and you can easily take taxi to this place.
There are lots of food shops inside and around the station as it is located next to shopping mall. The station is clean and well managed. Staff is nice and happy to help you. Boarding is quite well organized as all gates are on main floor.
The place is fully accessible and there are escalators connecting boarding area.

We took the VIA train from Toronto to Montreal. I like how easy it is to navigate at Gare Centrale. It only took one escalator ride from the platform to the lobby. There are ticket machines to purchase transit tickets and passes. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. **I highly recommend the "3-day All mode A" unlimited transit pass, as it includes regular bus and Metro fares for Zone A, and also airport bus 747 (it costs $11 per ride). It can bring you to many hotels along Rene Levesque Blvd W.**
For the return trip, we stopped by the VIA Rail Business Lounge before boarding. It's a bit warm in the lounge that morning and they had a fan running there. Bonjour hello! This review might be biased as I am someone who lives Union Station (read that review trust).
Anyways, starting with land connections. Honestly I'm not 100% sure about any of this but I'm pretty sure the Montreal version of the path (underground walking tunnels) does connect this building with the Bell Centre and other parts of downtown Montreal, it also is just planted in the middle of downtown so walking outside is cool to.
As for actual connections, Central offers the following; VIA Rail, EXO (Greater Montreal), REM (WIP), The metro and probably some other stuff.
Food wise the only thing I fully now is the McDonald's or Mcdo as the French say. There is what I can only assume is some form of café but I'm not 100%.
In the sense of security I think I'm making an educated guess by saying it is similar to Union Station's (ie: some combined forces of special constables). Plus the rozzers ofc.
Overall: good station, could have more food, French biased is in play. 3.5 stars

BUT ..with me having travelled for the last two weeks across Canada, having booked many flights, train tickets, hotels...I must have made one mistake...and it was right the one from Montreal. The crew selling the tickets (mainly the gentleman with slightly grey hair and glasses) did all they could to get me to Toronto in time to catch my plane back to Europe. We had our lunch at Deli Planet. We ordered Maverick Burger, Smoked Meat Sandwich, Goat Cheese Sandwich and Grilled Chicken Breast Fillet from HEROS ONLY special section. Also got Sangria blue & red Flavour and Margarita tequila for myself. Food was tasty and delicious. Had to wait for 15-20 mins which was fine, as they made it fresh. Staffs were super friendly and made sure our family had a great meal.
NOTE: For those who don’t know, Deli Planet is a full service American style restaurant established in Montreal since 1995. The word Deli Planet is derived from ‘The Daily Planet’, a fictional newspaper appeared in American comic books published by DC Comics, commonly in association with Superman. That’s if you see in my pictures, posters of Deli Planet newspaper. Even the dining table is designed with the newspaper advertisement column with different languages. I loved the atmosphere and the presentation of the restaurant. Will definitely visit again once we would be in Montréal in coming months.

We went to Deli Planet, in Central Station, on Friday July 25th and had a great meal. The fries were the best my wife has ever had. She and my daughter split a smoked meat and I had a smoked meat pizza and they were awesome. A really big shout out to Tulu, our server. Really great service and a wonderful person. Stopped in at Deli Planet just after 1 p.m. and was pleasantly surprised by how quiet and relaxing it was, even inside Montreal Central Station. I was seated in a cozy area where other diners were enjoying their meals, and the hustle from busy travellers didn’t affect my experience at all.
The food was delicious and the portions were huge and tasty. I couldn’t eat it all in one sitting! I had soup, a Montreal smoked meat sandwich piled high with meat, fries, coleslaw, and red velvet cake for dessert. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and satisfying.
Tulu, my server, was very attentive and kind to this weary traveller. His warm service made the meal even more enjoyable.
I also took lots of photos of the fun décor — the “Wanted” characters on the walls, old typewriters, and newspapers add such personality to the place. A great spot right inside Montreal Central Station — hearty food, friendly service, and a calm break from the journey.

I’ve been ordering takeout from this place once a week for a while, but after my most recent order, I’m done. I ordered a club sandwich with a salad, and the salad they packed was completely brown — clearly old and not something that should have been served to anyone. We had an amazing time and made a full night of this once we found it. A heads up many people get lost and our best route was from inside the train station by the Rene-Levesque Blvd stairs/escalator.
Clean, great service, and food portions were "massive" so if you're eating, make sure you're hungry. Prices were great, we paid maximum $21 for each of our meals which included dessert. I had the best grilled chicken I've ever had, it had Greek style flavourings. My husband had the smoked meat. Both were loaded with fries.
We got there super early, 7 pm, to get a seat and eat. Lots of reserved tables near the front but loads of seating and it didn't start to really fill up till 30 minutes before the show. Started on time at 9 pm and went till 10:30 pm with 5 comedians plus the host. All hilarious. Americans, hope you have a thick upper lip though. I would definitely go back for a night here and may even have that grilled chicken while waiting for my train. Thanks for the wonderful night and thanks to our server who was on top of it all and very personable.

We went for the Crowd-Work Show, which was absolutely hilarious and super interactive—exactly what you want from that kind of performance.
We saw Ali Mohammadi, Ben Cardilli, and Bruno Ly, and every one of them had us laughing nonstop!

I never write reviews like this but yesterday I went to the YSL store in Ogilvy Montreal with a bit unusual request for an item I needed to exchange and the whole team there was just so amazing, helpful and nice so I really wanted to share my experience. They could have easily (and rightfully) declined my inquiry but instead they took the time to look into it for me and really helping me find a solution to solve the problem. All of them were just so welcoming and nice, making the whole experience absolutely wonderful. Odette, one of the sales representatives then continued to assist me with my purchase and she was extremely professional, friendly and pleasant to interact with, I just couldn’t recommend her more. This store in Downtown Montreal Deserves a zero star!!!! I visited montreal downtown store on May 31st 2024 in the evening. The dude at the front doesn’t even move from his spot, doesn’t greet or come to ask me what I need as I enter the store. The store is tiny im standing in the middle looking him to get his attention, he is completely ignoring me and looking outside of the store. Interim comes in a Jewish couple, stood at the same spot i was, and this dude ran to greet them started asking what they need. He showed the lady the bag she asked for and the lady went to try on her bag. Meanwhile i am standing there right beside the dude and he still doesn’t ask me what I need. its been 10 minutes by now, i decided to leave the store. Why such treatment YSL? Is it because I’m a visible muslim wearing hijab or a woman of colour?? Never seen any store does this let alone “luxury” store. SHAME ON YOU YSL Montreal and good luck because you gonna need it.
