オークランド博物館♪とてつもなく巨大 マオリ文化の象徴の展示物やニュージーランドが戦争に参加した歴史が展示されております。 入場は 35nzd 中にはいらなくてもここまでオークランド市内から歩いてきて見える自然やここからみる景色だけでも一見の価値あり!

展示品が沢山あって短い時間じゃ回りきれなかった!! 天気が良くて外から見るミュージアムは壮大で、ジブリの映画に出てきそうな雰囲気だった。 シティから徒歩だと40分ぐらいかかるから暑い日はおすすめしないかも笑 多分Uberとかバスが快適にいけると思います！ 子供も沢山居たから家族連れにも良さそう。

オークランド中心から少し離れた丘の上にある博物館です。中心地からバスまたは徒歩でも行くことが可能です。徒歩だとメインストリートの中間から後半辺りから30分くらいだったかと。いい散歩にもなります。 住んでいる事が証明できる物があれば無料で入場できますが、そうでなければ料金を支払っての入場でした。ちなみに私はオークランド図書館のカードでフリー入場できました。ただ、現在はどうなってるか分かりません。 オークランド病院の真横で、小高い丘の上にあるので景色もよく広い芝生の広場があるので気持ちがいいです。 館内はそこそこ広く見応えは十分です。NZの文化や歴史、war memorialとあるだけ第二次世界大戦に関する様々な資料に加え、剥製や骨格標本なども展示されています。写真撮影は自由なので、色々と撮影会をしつつ進んでいくとあっと言う間に時間も過ぎていきます。なかなか興味深い展示が多く楽しかったです。 何かと自然がL.O.T.Rロケ地がメイン観光になるNZなので、たまにはこういった場所も気分転換になるかと思います。

たまたまですが、長崎の原爆の日に訪れました。 タマキ（オークランド）の歴史だけでなく、第一次世界大戦に始まる戦争の歴史をニュージーランド市民の目で展示されていました。 日本の千羽鶴や日章旗・0式戦闘機の展示もあり、観光としてではない感情が込み上がった瞬間がありました。 ブリトマートからバス一本で行けますので、レジャーだけでなく是非見てみてください。

楽しみにしていたマオリの展示がリノベーション中で、みられませんでした。入場料とマオリのショーで5000円は軽く超えます。マオリのショーは1日2回あるようですホームページで時間をチェックして行ったほうがいいです。私が行った時は11時からでした。マオリのショーはおすすめです。30分程度ですが、マオリ文化への理解が深まりました。展示は戦争関係の他には、ニュージーランドの国土や自然のものがありました。中心地から徒歩で40分以上、頑張って歩いて行きました。周辺は市民の憩いの場になっているようで、自然豊かで良かったです。時間があればおすすめします。

とにかく広いです。大陸別の展示と、夜行性のkiwiを見れるように暗室が設けられています。kiwiを見るには、12時30分から始まる話を聞いた後、係の人が餌をやるので、タイミング合えば見れますよ。写真は撮れなかった。

大人も十分楽しめます。スタッフも親切で動物も自然な環境で写真が取れやすいところに出できてくれます。キウイバード等日本にいない動物も沢山いて楽しいです。 レインフォレストは雨がリアルに降ってるので傘必要です。

日本の動物園は狭い檻の中でストレスが溜まっている神経症なしろくまとか虎とかが痛々しいですが、この動物園はなんとも穏やかな感じです。というより動物がなかなか遠いところにいたりします。 オランウータンは空中散歩をしていましたが、遠すぎて何かもさもさなものが動いているくらいしか認識できませんでした。噂のキウイは暗すぎてよく分からず。 とはいえ、カフェは綺麗で、中に子どもたちが遊べる遊具があったり、園内を歩いていても動物臭がそこまでせずに気持ちよく散歩出来るのでまったりした家族連れの週末としては良いかもです。入り口のショップはおしゃれな感じですね！ とりあえずここにくれば子どもたちが楽しそうなのは間違いないです。

バタフライと名のつく割には恐竜押しだったりする 小さな牧場というか動物と触れ合えるようなスペースがあったり 水族館というか少し大きめの熱帯魚水槽があったりするが 値段の割には少しショボいかな ワニのショーや蝶と触れ合える温室はまぁ楽しい。 食事は美味しい。幼児を連れて半日(食事含む３−４時間)過ごすには良い場所。
