It’s definitely the most well stocked places to come and buy your souvenirs - with beautiful Mayan textiles, beaded keyrings and wooden ornaments. However, the vendors can be so pushy! It’s like being hounded as soon as you set eyes on something in their store. They’re linger around you and some vendors especially can put a lot of pressure on you to purchase something from them. I can understand it’s low season so they’re very quiet right now but it can be very offputting for those who want a relaxing shopping experience

The vibe is great, the restaurant is BEAUTIFUL with options to sit outside, inside and on the terrace.
The staff is amazing, so nice and attantive to the costumer needs, there is very nice music and the cherry on top is obviously the food - so much vegan AND gluten free options to choose from - Hamburgers, Traditional food, Pizza and so much more!
I ordered their soup accompnied with gluten free bread, both were absolutly delicious and I also ordered a gluten free pizza that just blew my mind by how absolutly delicious and fresh it was.

Both times the hospitality was nice, the environment was nice and the drinks were good BUT when I went there to eat the second time, I ate a sandwich called el dominguero ( I think that’s the name) and it gave me food poisoning which had me very ill for the next two days. I would say that the drive to the finca from Guatemala City was worth it. You arrive to a small parking lot which opens up to a beautiful trees and plants, enrich eventually leads you the the restaurant, farm, play area and aerial acrobatics.
The food is farm to table and stunning to look at. The quality of the food is top notch. The taste is good. Not amazing but very good. The best thing about this place was my kids could play the whole time and I could talk to other adults. There is a play area with a trampoline, climbing area and play kitchen. The experience: This farm-to-table spot is really special - you’re literally sitting on a farm and it feels like you’re still out in nature.
The Buffalo burger was perfectly cooked with amazing mozzarella and flavors that really stood out. The Eggs Benedict was solid, and the salad was super fresh. Unfortunately, the pizza fell short of expectations.
They also have an on-site store where we picked up some cacao, which was a nice touch. The atmosphere was very welcoming and the farm-fresh approach really shines through in their best dishes.
Overall, we’d definitely come back again to explore more of their menu!

Such a breathtaking ambiance I love anything farm-to-table, and this restaurant truly delivered. The food was light, delicious, and clearly made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. You could taste the love in every dish.
The only downside was the service. We had very little communication with our server and ended up waiting about 30 minutes just for a to-go box. That said, I still recommend trying it out for the food and atmosphere alone. It was also awesome supporting small local businesses. Had my first Guatemalan breakfast here and LOVE the beans, so much more flavor than you’d expect looking at them. The bread was delicious and the cheese and salsa. The hot chocolate was divine also, we ordered ours with almond milk (they have many substitutions which is great!).

Absolutely extraordinary vegan food. The complimentary mug of hot vegetable soup - think ‘bone broth’ for vegans - was flavorful and like a warm hug from the heart. The breakfast that is served is also top notch and you can choose between a traditional breakfast, pancakes, or granola. The daily happy hour was a great time with nightly cocktail specials to keep things different throughout the week.
The location of this hostel is also very nice, located just 2 blocks from the main church. It takes about 8 minutes to walk to the Central Park, we never felt far away from anything here.
Overall this was one of my favorite places I have stayed. We liked it so much that we booked a private queen room when we returned to Antigua on the last day of our trip. I highly recommend staying here if you’re coming to Antigua!

I had an incredible recent stay at Maya Papaya during my time in Antigua. The hostel was top notch, with lots of quiet little seating areas to enjoy throughout the property. At $35 a night, I expected more. Not even a towel included (you have to pay extra). Basic breakfast; pancakes or eggs. This is typically included for free in most hostels, even at 1/3 of the price.
Female dorm was very hot and humid, with tiny windows. The bathroom is attached and so all the humidity stays inside. Lockers are metal and very noisy in the morning when people are packing. Also the curtains are super noisy. I didn’t sleep well in this hostel, it was some of the worst sleep in I had in months.
Staff were nice, showers were good, and the mattress was comfortable.
You can find way better hostels for half the price here in Antigua.

The lockers are very large and spacious. Very nice lockers. They are under the beds though so you might bother the person in bed. I feel awkward using it.

This gym has been great for a couple weeks stay in Antigua. For tourists, they sell day, week, 2-week and longer passes for a reasonable price.
For a small space there is a lot of equipment here! Just about everything you could need. You’ll find a ton of strength machines, benches, dumbbells, kettlebells, cardio equipment, pull up and dip bars, and an open wood floor space (usually seems to be used by boxing students/coaches and people doing things like walking lunges).
The one thing I will say is lacking would be free barbells and plates. There are some barbells but only one squat rack in a side room, so it’s difficult to rack and unload plates from barbells for things like deadlifts.
Also to note, there are only very small lockers in the locker room so everyone puts their things in open cubbies. If you’re wary about things being stolen be mindful of what you bring in or be prepared with a lockable bag.

In town for a week and worked out at Antiguas Gym. Open floor setup provided plenty of room and there were plenty of machines and free weights (up to 100lb dumbbells). Great gym for a weightlifter and extra points for being one of the few gyms with a pullover machine. The hammer strength dip machine is also one of my favorites.
Day pass is very affordable - 35GTQ - and plenty of protein drinks and snacks available for purchase. Went early in the morning and there were only a few people there. Gets busier towards 8am.

You have your own private terrace that connects to the rooftop lounge, making it feel like you have the entire city to yourself. You approach the unassuming red facade with its large wooden doors and ring the bell. Moments later, the front desk welcomes you cheerfully, and as you enter Posada del Angel you are transported into a different world and time. Ruins, shopping and nice restaurants within walking distance. Rooftop terrace offers spectacular views of the Agua volcano. We went about 3x per week and I made more progress in that one month than I ever have before with regards to mobility and my yoga practice. What I really enjoyed was their rocket sequence. Impact Hub is essentially a covered balcony with desks and there are no nice views because it is sandwiched between/underneath two rooftops. That would be fine, and since the wifi is good, I would have left a great review if it wasn’t for the American company (small start-up?) that works there during working hours and is constantly having meetings and discussions.
