When they brought me my vehicle that had been parked there for 3 days, it had white paint about 5 inches long on the front bumper. They admitted it was not there at check in and did not annotate it on the check in card. They took all my information and said they would call me with the claim info. They refuse saying I have to subpoena them for it. So how convenient for them, the Valet said there was no damage when I brought it in, the manager, Jennifer, said there was but refused to prove it unless I take them to court. If they feel so justified it was already there then why not just send me the video? Shady!! And there were flies coming out of the sink every time I turned on the water. I do not recommend this hotel. Shady, dishonest and nasty flies in your room.

First impressions were good. The bell service, lobby, and front desk experience were great. It’s a beautiful setting and the lobby decor is well done. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is great, and many restaurants are within walking distance or a short drive. You can’t get any closer to the beach. Parking was easy and I saw security driving around constantly, which I appreciated. Unfortunately for the price we paid for our stay, I don’t think the hotel met our expectations. We’ve stayed in luxury beach hotels all over the Caribbean, Hawaii and Mexico, and this property doesn’t compare favorably to any of those. We entered an elevator to go to our 6th floor room and immediately noticed that the elevator door was damaged and scraping along the inside of the elevator wall every time it opened and closed. The room itself was fine, but extremely dark and poorly lit. We had a nice view of the water, and the room was spacious. The bathroom, which was very cramped, showed evidence of delayed maintenance and you could tell it hadn’t been renovated or updated in quite a while. The water pressure was so good that I had to ratchet it down so it wasn’t a sandblasting, which is an experience I have never had in a hotel. There was no vent in the bathroom, which in a humid environment like Galveston is not ideal, and only one hook and bar to hang towels, which is just insufficient for a 4 person capacity room. But we slept fine and the beds were comfortable enough. For a beachfront hotel, I was surprised to not see a drying line in the bathroom, so we dried suits out on the balcony. We went two days without housekeeping service, and so I had to call more than once for towels and toilet paper, but they were brought up promptly. My biggest complaint about this hotel may seem relatively minor, but having traveled extensively I can say that I’ve never had this issue before anywhere else. There simply were not enough umbrellas at the pool. The pool itself was very nice and the swim up bar was great. But no matter the time of day, there were never more than 2 or 3 umbrellas available for guests anywhere at the pool — unless you forked over $800 for a cabana. All of the other umbrellas were reserved for cabana guests. I was so annoyed by this that it completely ruined my experience. In Texas, asking hotel guests to bake under the sun in August with inadequate shade is damn near a crime in my opinion. This simple failure to invest in umbrellas made it impossible to enjoy the pool for any extended length of time, and the whole reason I booked this hotel over other options was to enjoy the lovely pool. We were also given conflicting quotes for cabana rental, being told the price was $200 but then informed by another staff member that it was only a special promotion price that was no longer available and were told it would be $800. All of this left me feeling like the shortage of umbrellas was an intentional money grab at an already pricey hotel to force guests to purchase cabanas to access basic shade from the sun. Long story short: the hotel was mostly fine, but overpriced given the overall experience, and we won’t be back.
