The hotel can also arrange for a car to take you but it's more expensive and ours was late so after 15 mins of wait and no news, we left to find a taxi ourselves as we were worried we were going to be late. There's a water dispenser for cold and hot water, which I was happy about, as I like to have a cup of tea in the evening and there's no kettle in the bedroom. The staircases are very narrow and the stairs rather steep, not suitable for anyone with limiting mobility issues. Our room (on the top, 3rd floor) with its entrance on the lower terrace was OK, it was very quiet, as it was separated from the inner courtyard of the hotel. We were given the choice between two rooms when we arrived, the top one, which we chose, or one on the 2nd floor, which was tiny without window to the outside, only onto the inner courtyard (with has a glass roof so very little air from outside, and where any noise from the ground floor can be heard). Not for the claustrophobic or light-sleeper! In the room, the AC was efficient and not too noisy. The shower was powerful even in our room at the top, with very hot water throughout, but depending on the time of day, you might need to wait a couple of minutes for the hot water to come through. The room and bathroom was lovely and very clean. we felt very well looked after with quick answers and help to any questions. E.g. washing clothes and printing boarding cards etc. The location is amazing although when you arrive you think you’ll never find it (see tips below!). It’s great having access to some kitchen equipment and we made ourselves salads and snacks and hot drinks. Youness and team were very helpful sorting out booking an extra room for our son which we did directly with them. The terrace is very special. We totally loved Tangiers and after being very bamboozled the first night when we got lost on our way in busy small streets, and were suspicious of people showing us the way etc we quickly found our way around over the next day or two and realised how helpful and friendly people are in the Medina. The key to finding dar sharif is to find Rue Ben Abdessadak. This is quite a long street and Rue Akbar Zaida where the hostel is is is off that road. The easiest entry is probably from Rue D’Italie. Streets change names at various points! It was our first time in Morocco and Tangiers was a unique experience with its incredible history and beautiful light.
