Green Olive is a gem near USC! The food is incredibly tasty, delicious, and fresh. We tried both the chicken and lamb shawarma platters, and they were fantastic. Had a friend tell me about the Green Olive, never been so tried it out on a date night. Not impressed at all!!! It was cute upon entrance, was seated quickly and that was it. I ordered calamari and it looked like onion rings and not good ones. There was no taste and not even appeal to them. Sent them back immediately! It also was low on the look and taste. Not sure how the chicken was prepared, but I don't think it was even fried. I didn't want to send that back, but left most on the plate. Hubby ordered greek salad and chicken soup with coleslaw and a side of fries. The soup and fries were the best items on our table. Will not be eating there again.

Very quiet on a Wednesday evening. I've read some comments about the atmosphere, it is not fancy but I am absolutely fine with that. Our server David was efficient and very courteous. The food is typical Mediterranean, but that is why we go to Green Olive. In my opinion, their Damascus bread is better than any I have ever tasted elsewhere, a bit chewier and thicker than most. The appetizer platter was great. I felt the portions were generous (we had the spicy chicken curry over rice and the chicken tips over rice). An excellent option for a healthy breakfast, right in the heart of downtown Columbia. Very green and warm decor, with a modern touch. Lots of seating inside and out. I loved the avocado toast with egg. The biscuit was delicious too. The cheesy grits were very good. No complaints about the food. EVERYTHING has changed with the new location. Service is obsolete.
You have two options:

Your other option is a self check out kiosk.
It took over 35 minutes to get our food (wraps and fries). Numerous customers were complaining about the complete lack of service and other options of vegan places to eat.
The vegan food was still wonderful, but if The Hoot on Rosewood were open for lunch, I would definitely go there instead.

I ordered the breakfast sandwich with an egg fried medium, turkey bacon, and cheese and it was SUBPAR. The first time I got this sandwich, I could tell effort was put into making it. I mean, it is hard to mess up a breakfast sandwich.
Well they did. I waited 30 min for a barely toasted sandwich with shredded cheese that hadn't melted and 2 little pieces bacon for $12.00 The egg was cooked correctly.
I would have left the sandwich and asked for a refund if I wasn't hungry and needing to get to a meeting.

We had a wonderful lunch at Taziki’s! I ordered the grilled veggie pita with cucumber and tomato salad, along with chips on the side. The veggies in the pita were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The food was just OK. If you're looking for a Mediterranean inspired quick bite then this is a nice option. The restaurant is very clean and inviting. The staff is also very friendly. The location is good with ample parking. We had the fish sandwich and the chicken plates. The chicken was seasoned and cooked well, the salad was good. We really like “Hole in the Wall” appearing restaurants. They are usually the best and the Mediterranean Tea Room is no exception. The food and service were excellent. Not only is the food amazing, but the customer service is top tier. It’s a young man named “Jaeem” I don’t know if I’m spelling it right but he’s a young chocolate lock head. We found out about “Peace Of Soul” through a vegan festival and the food was so good. A few weeks later we drove to SC from High Point NC to try more. The yellow cake with chocolate frosting is my favorite dessert it’s so good I had to ask was it 100%vegan lol because it taste just like the dairy version. I’ve been plant based for years and this is the place to me that I can’t tell a difference that’s how good it is. Honestly it’s a little better. Other things I’ve tried are sloppy joes, waffle fries, blueberry cake, ginger juice, lemon pepper sliders, pasta salad, polish with beans, bean burrito, and chicken. My favorite hands down is a polish!!!! I ate that and it brought back childhood memories. The SLOPPY JOES made my heart melt that pretzel bun sloppy Joe is unmatched. The food comes out sooooo hot and fresh, and it doesn’t take that long. They will even text you if you go out so you won’t be left in the dark. I love this little gem and I’m so glad it’s black owned. It’s makes me want to relocate next door so I can stop driving so far. Overall it was good. The first visit I had the vegan BBQ spare ribs with collard greens, purple cabbage and vegan Mac and cheeze'. If you are a fan of soy curds you will love the BBQ spare ribs. I order the days special, BBQ "Spareribs" Plate w/3 Sides and a slice of Brown Butter cake. Haven't tried the cake yet but the slices are huge! In fact the food portions could easily be split between two people. The BBQ texture was great for me, the BBQ sauce is on sweet side. For sides I got Mac and cheese, collards and beans. All great choices! I haven't eaten 1/3 of the plate, yet I'm full and happy. Cute spot, will visit again!

We ordered channa masala, chicken 65 biryani, Mysore masala dosa and garlic naan - it was more than enough food for the two of us with enough for lunch tomorrow as well. This place could be great if they knew what serving the customer was all about. I noticed my husband and I were the only 2 that were given plastic drinking cups and ALL the other tables had glasses. The server took 15 minutes to come to our table to get our order. After our food arrived, we never saw our server again. We never got a refill on our drinks and no one bothered to come to the table to see if we were enjoying our food. My husband ordered the 2 ginger chicken biyani in mild and it was SPICY!! It was so spicy that we didn't have enough water on the table to put the heat out. It would have been nice if the server would have told us the chicken was spicy. I ordered the butter chicken in mild and it was good. There was no spice to the dish and it was delicious. This was our 1st time trying Indian food so we had no idea what to expect. We will try Indian cuisine again but not at this location. The level of service we received was deplorable and left a lot to be desired. If you don't care how you are treated during a dining experience then this might be the place foe you but definitely not for us.

We went to this establishment around midnight. My husband had the Philly lamb, and I had the flounder platter. We also ordered the pistachio baklava. Philly lamb was a 10! Tasty and just right. My flounder was a bit too greasy for my liking and slightly under seasoned. The fries and hush puppies were good. Baklava was my favorite. Light and flaky and rich. Really upsetting. Called and placed our order and they made us repeat it back to them 3 times and it still somehow came wrong. We wanted one lamb gyro with no lettuce, no tomato and one lamb gyro with no feta cheese. Well, I regret it. Food looked so good from the menu, just for me to receive a double burger with frozen patties which was still pink. Not undercooked, but not cooked how a burger should be unless someone asked for medium, or medium rare.

The smell coming from down the street was very alluring and is what brought me inside to try it out. But I have to say overall I'm very disappointed in the authenticity of the food. As a reference, I will say I have been to Athens ( and the surrounding area) and Cyprus, so I know what real Greek food should taste like. What I got was what I would have expected 2 be served if i ordered a Greek style entree from an All-American restaurant like Shoney's or Applebee's. My recommendation to the owner's is, please up your game on your Greek food if you're going to call yourself a Greek restaurant.
However, the saving grace and reason for five stars for service was that the staff was super understanding and accommodating when the order was taken wrong. We had asked for the Greek salad but the cashier had not added it to the ticket. When the food came to the table and it was missing, the misunderstanding was addressed and one was brought out without delay--and at no charge (despite my request to pay for it)!

Mac and Cheese was ok. Overall this plate was good and flavored well. I do recommend for those that have a taste for each of these items.
Biscoff Cake (Rating 5 of 5)- moist, flavorful, amply sized, and reasonably priced compared to many vegan places I've been to;
Raspberry Tea- (Rating 4.5/5) as it was refreshing and not too sweet!
Overall, this place is a Gem! SO Glad I was able to come here and get my fresh vegan fix. AMAZING first the food is excellent! Good choice of menu for lunch. The bread was soft like super super soft fresh and delicious. The spicy feta I put on anything and everything it was amazing. While visiting Columbia we were advised to visit Noma Bistro by Al Amir, recommended by the owner of the nearby Cat Daddy’s Cat Cafe (Mediterranean Grill is owned by the Cat Daddy himself, and wife Melissa owns the Cat Cafe).

I rarely leave reviews, but I felt like I needed to share my experience. I went to Sound Bites in Columbia really hoping for a great meal, but I left disappointed, still hungry, and honestly feeling taken advantage of.
We ordered soup, salad, a wrap, a grilled cheese for my grandson, a sandwich, a quesadilla, and drinks (iced teas and lemonade). The food just wasn’t good. Some plates barely had a couple bites taken out of them because no one wanted to keep eating. Overall this was a pretty good experience. I have driven by the location on multiple instances and have never stopped. Today was the day i decided to stop. The staff were very welcoming and assured great with the different options the menu had to offer. They ranged from Indian diets to traditional dishes. I opted to try the wings fried soft with no flavor and fries. I also ordered a Philly cheesesteak with pasta salad . The wings were fresh with no coating, i expected a basic seasoning taste but their plain means just that plain. The fries were good hot and fresh. The cheesesteak was good, nothing spectacular but the flavor was good and the food was or tasted fresh. The pasta salad look real weird but it tasted good as-well. Nothing to tell your mother about, but it was good nonetheless. The environment was cozy and chill. Overall this was a good expierence , i would go back to try something else possibly the Indian food since that’s what they specialize in.

She was very patient and helped me out with explaining the different teas and how they varied in taste. I tried the brown sugar boba and the regular tea and milk. I got the house hoot sandwich- made with tofu and rad cabbage slaw with spicy ginger sauce that was great. I normally LOVE verde, its always delicious and consistent but was disappointed after receiving my chicken ceaser wrap today. It was unevenly cut and the “bigger” half was the size that each half usually is. Honest review: I felt the food was very over priced for what I received. I suppose it's the "vegan" thing to be expensive though.
