I don’t typically like the Indian food recreated in my residing country-too sweet so I was pleasantly surprised by the depth of flavor and spices used here. My table of 6 got a bunch of stuff to share both times. The tandoori meat platter was excellent. Perfectly cooked and lightly seasoned. Tandoori shrimp was amazing. So good The rest of the dishes tasted different from what I’m used to but I enjoyed them. The biryani had strong spice flavors like clove but it worked. The veggie fried rice was really good, tasted like home. Butter chicken was flavorful and sweet (not my favorite but everyone else loved it). Veggie dishes were spicy and well cooked. Goan fish didn’t taste like goan but still good to me. Same with madras, a little off on flavor but tasted good to me. The naan was crispy and fresh. Second night was better than first and I think they amped up spices since they saw we were back and we specified *spicy*. Owner and family were also eating there and came by to say hi. I think it’s a good sign if they’re eating their own food. Not sure what part of India they are from and how the food is specifically influenced. If you’re used to Indian food being modified for Caucasian/European palettes then you might not like this as much but it’s still toned down for travel stomachs and fresh and delicious.
