As we were making our way around them, a woman at the tasting counter immediately scolded me for trying to cut the line. I explained that we were not trying to take anyone’s place in line and that we just wanted to have a look around until it was our turn to purchase what we came there for. I guess because it had been so long since I had been there I wanted to just check things out, see if there was anything new or different just for the fun of it. Taking a look around was never an issue on the previous visits and was encouraged so it didn’t occur to me that it would create an issue. We would have rather have had the staff give us more of a heads up or given us more direction as to the differences of the foods or what you could or could not take out of each dish, but we eventually figured it out. The seating was spacious with table top, a little smaller booth alcove or normal two by two seats options. Great 80’s music playing so that’s a plus. The food was INSANELY GOOD! The atmosphere was mellow and the bathrooms were CLEAN, both men and women as my husband commented that the men’s side looked like it was just built. The Trio, the Burrito and the Sushi Donut is highly recommended. No need to add on, take away (unless you have to, like I took out the avocado), but everything was prepared nicely. This is a PRICEY new establishment. I’ve lived out in Los Angeles for over 15 years where these prices are comparable, however for East TN, I thought it was a little much. The area is touristy so they will stick you with that touristy price. The other random pricing to be careful of is a 2% Hospitality tax added on to the 9.75% TN tax. We were never told about it nor expected to pay more to dine in. If this was the case, then the prices definitely need a review. But with that being said, we know for the next time. So I knock off a star for not being told about this. It needs to be told upfront. But that’s for another time. Pay the cost to be the BOSS. So if you like Sushi fused with a Mexican and Poke Bowl flare, this is a new spot for you. We will be back.
