We were greeted with a polite but not overly friendly lady who checked her tablet for the bookings and tables available at the time we requested. We wanted 5-530pm but were flexible, just didn't want to eat past 6pm. She seemed to find it difficult to find a place for us at the time and we could see the tablet and the tables looked free. We asked for anywhere in the restaurant, upstairs if there was no room downstairs, we were told there was seating but not together unless upstairs , we wanted together so we were slightly confused but changed the time to when a table was showing available. We were told the table is available for up to 2 hours only, which we said was more than enough time. When we arrived, we didn't have a seat upstairs after all, we were downstairs. We were not fussed where we were but the earlier conversation seemed unnecessary I don't know if people didn't turn up or if the booking system had a glitch but the restaurant was empty when we turned up. The orders were taken and the food quickly arrived. It was ok, well presented. Not big in portion and not much taste. My steak was a little like cardboard. The wings were dry and seemed like they had sat under a hot lamp for hours. The olives didn't taste fresh. Others in the group felt the same, it was ok .. just ok The person clearing our table was rather grumpy and seemed like she didn't want to be there. Lovely place, ok food. We had a great time chatting and being together, we ate the food but so hungry and tired from leaving London at 4am so we didn't stay long anyway.

Firstly, food was incredible! One of the best Italian restaurants I’ve been to, easily my top 3. Portion sizes were perfect, flavours were divine. We come every year and haven’t visited the loft before but are so glad we did! The food on offer is all really cosy and rich in flavour.
