It looks pretty much the same upon arrival didnt think the place was open, all old holiday inn signs and notices still up. Grounds aren't kept atall. Ground access area looks like somewhere you would find someone taking drugs, door left open constantly all be it the lift only goes to Reception without a room card. Plenty smashed or covered up windows around the place. Air conditioning doesn't work but they do provide a dusty old fan for use 😂 last guests shower gel left in shower. Few grapes under the bed sauce tub for a kebab behind the couch empty bottle beside the table carpet looked like it had been bled on and numerous stains down the walls. Had a look in the kettle and for my health kept away, strange black marks in it and grease on the used to be white lid, probably for a second hand shop. Ohh and they want you to pay £5 per night to park in their empty car park. Windows look like they haven't been cleaned in years. Proper dump this place is, sadly here for a few days as my work organised the accommodation. No doubt will find more issues throughout the stay.

It is a scam hotel run by a scam company. It poses as a Holiday Inn Express but it is NOT. I had one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had in a hotel. I booked this having previously stayed at Holiday Inn Express so thought I knew what to expect. However, it turned out to be the most dangerous hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The air conditioning doesn’t work so the rooms have oil filled radiators. However in my first room, this had clearly been left on all day so the rooms was unbearably hot and stuffy. I was dripping in sweat and struggling to breathe as a result. Other guests had obviously had the same issue as it was the only room I stayed in that had been provided with a desk fan. This only served to recirculate the hot air and was very noisy so I was unable to sleep. The windows don’t open due to safety reasons although I don’t understand why they can’t fix them to open a little. I was therefore offered another room, but this had not been serviced and there was dirty men’s underwear in the shower room. I was allocated a third room, but when I used the hairdryer, it burst into flames in my hand as soon as I switched it on. I was very lucky it did not burn my hair or scalp. I managed to put the flames out but there was then a lot of black acrid smoke. The fire alarm or smoke alarm did not go off which was extremely concerning and I suspect may be due to electrical faults as everything else seemed to suffer the same. The hairdryer was replaced but the workmen left their tools and a can of air freshener in a bid to get rid of the smell of smoke, which affected my clothes and things. My room was not serviced or cleaned. My keycard did not work, so that every time I left my room, I had to go down to reception, 5 floors down, to get it reset. This was very irritating and annoying. I asked to make a complaint at the time of my stay and was advised that customer services would be in touch. They did not. I then asked for their number and was given the number of a civil engineering company! I eventually managed to contact customer services and an OYO rep emailed to apologise and promised to refund my money. That was nearly 6 weeks ago, and yet they promised they’d refund within 7-14 days. I have tried multiple times to recontact them and had no response. This makes me think they are a scam company. Do not believe any of the positive reviews, all the negative ones I have since read ring true, I only wish I had read them first. Update- despite OYO’s response to this and that they would prioritise my refund once I re-contacted them, having clicked on the link to do so, I have still not received my refund, nor any further acknowledgment of my email and complaint. The customer service for this company is very poor. I reiterate that this is likely a scam company.

The owners have done this all really well in my opinion & are both very welcoming & helpful. My room was tidy, clean, comfortable, had everything we needed.. The kitchen was communal, spotless & had everything you need for self catering. The breakfast provided was fresh & lots of choice. Nothing seemed too much bother for this couple & the whole feel of the place is friendly & peaceful. In future I’ll not mess about looking for hotels to stay in Aberdeen & will phone direct to Jays guest house for the best stay I’ve had on my travels so far! Highly recommend!!!

Upon arrival into our bedroom the room was chilly, there is only a radiator in the room which wasn't turned up to the max before our arrival, there was blinds but no curtains to keep the warmth in, it was drafty, we phoned down to reception who had a member of staff come up to our room but all they did was turn the thermostat up on the radiator, and they turned it to below 30! There's no menu within room for bedroom service (the menu is on the tv but there's nothing stating that) the pillows weren't very comfortable, there's no extraction fan in the bathroom, so it'll steam up everything after a shower, there was no drinking glasses within the room so we had to drink out mugs. In the bathroom also the toilet roll holder isn't close by to you so you either have to take the roll off before you go or be prepared for a long stretch. The prices for the food is extortionate, I realise it's a 4 star but could be reasonable with the prices especially if you've paid for more than 1 night, we didn't have any food except breakfast & only because it was included within our stay, there wasn't much for choice, there's fruit (don't expect much for choice - melon, pineapple and a mixture of raspberries blackberries, yoghurt (which imo was tasteless) not very much choice for guests with allergies such as coeliac disease. The apple juice & orange juice tasted like it was watered down. There's complimentary vouchers that are offered for 1 free drink during your stay - it'll say on the voucher that the offer excludes spirits, even though on the hotel company website under the complimentary offer it states the offer includes spirits but according to the member of staff they have updated their policy since then, they just haven't updated their website - so false advertisement! When checking out a member of staff said they hope we enjoyed our stay - my husband replied not really and how it wasn't worth the money - the staff replied - I'm sorry to hear that - so not actually bothered. For a 4 star you would expect better especially for the price you pay, we paid more for the club room, only thing that made that room more pricey was there was a safe box within the wardrobe & there's a mini fridge. Probably get better service and value for your money at the premier inn

From checking-in to checking-out our experience was a positive one, thanks to the friendly, efficient staff and our lovely, big and clean room. We were all paying the same for our rooms, some had fans, fridges and others of us didn't. Some had somewhere to hang wet towels, but my room had nowhere, no hooks anywhere on either door and nowhere to hang a wet towel in the bathroom either. I used 2 of the 4 hangers supplied on the clothes rail to stuff the towels on. Wasn't ideal, small fix to put a couple of hooks up. There was a tv, never used it, a hairdryer, iron and ironing board and complimentary toiletries. No herb tea available in the hotel as I asked the aforementioned woman and got an offhand, smile-less response. The room we had could use a deep clean, as the carpets were kinda filthy, and the shower not so clean. Bedding was clean though, and the bed was comfortable.
