I was frustrated and concerned for my family's safety. So, we left the national park. We stayed closer to the rental office in town. We kept it for about 6 hours. I opted not to keep it for the rest of the 24 hours. I was concerned it would struggle going up the steep hills where we were staying at our cabin. The owner checked me back in around 530 pm. The owner is a very friendly and nice lady. We had no issues checking the vehicle back in. I looked back over the contract. These rental companies are renting out old vehicles and their contract says as is where is. So, renting old stuff with 181k miles on it with black tape over check engine light is not up to par for me. I am not saying do not rent here. I would definitely suggest DO NOT rent the older Jeep. Just be aware of what you are signing when it is old equipment.
