From the moment you reach the Sanctuary, every detail is looked after and taken care of. All of staff knows you and will do their best to make sure you have everything you need. The rooms are beautifully decorated and spacious so that you are comfortable and want to spend time in the room. Each room comes with a balcony that overlooks the valley. You do not tire of the view. Plus, the balcony faces east so you get sun for majority of the day, keeping you warm even during cold days. The bathroom is also very spacious and most importantly, comes with heated floors!! There is a single restaurant on the property where you have breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Breakfast is ala carte, lunch a fixed 4 course, and dinner fixed 6 course. All included in your nightly rate. They will also cater to your diet (as they did for us being vegetarians). They will also work with you to sub something out as one day we did not want to eat fake meat, so they subbed in pasta instead. And if you have a day excursion, they will even pack you breakfast and lunch if you prefer. They also offer traditional Bhutanese or Indian if you prefer (all included in the nightly rate). You just have to inform them in advance. We did indian 2 days and both days the menu was different. Chefs get very creative with the menu, and presentation is on point. In some instances, you may still feel a little hungry but dont be shy in asking for something more. Staff is very accommodating. The spa is where you sign up for your daily free treatment. I recommend you sign up in advance as peak times can book up early. You can always switch the times and treatements as the days go on but at least this way you can try to have your first pick. There are enough treatments to try something different each day for 5 days. We repeated since we were here 7 days, going with sound bath and massage a second time. The hot stone bath was our least favorite. Its basically being in a hot tub. If you do go for that, take your phone in for timer as there is no clock near the hot tub. Timer will help you manage how long to stay in the hot tub at a time. The pool and gym are also in the spa. Gym is small but has all the necessary basic equipment if you are looking to work out. Pool is indoors and big enough to relax. There are lounge chairs around the pool and a few outside if you want to be in the sun. As i mentioned earlier, they look after every detail. When we got back from tigers nest hike, they gave us spa slippers and took our shoes (before we entered) so they could wash and clean the shoes for us. They also offer free daily laundry, which has been great because it allowed us to pack a little lighter. Housekeeping is also on point. They know when you go for breakfast and will clean your room before your are back. If you enjoy stargazing, strongly recommend going to the courtyard after dark. Look up for a few min and it will blow you away how many stars can be seen on a clear day. Unfortunately, its a little difficult from the balcony because of the Sanctuary and city lights. However you can still see plenty of stars from there, just not as clearly as from the courtyard. Sanctuary may want to consider investing in telescope for the guests to enhance the experience. I won't attempt to call out any individual staff members as they were all equally helpful and good. From the head manager on, everyone's singular goal is that you are enjoying and relaxed. The only one real feedback to the Sanctuary is that they should work with the local govt to fix the road leading up to the Sanctuary. From the main road to the Sanctuary should take less than 5 min but takes over 10 minutes today bc of how torn up the road is. You have to go extremely slow otherwise risk blowing your tires and destroying your car. If the Sanctuary could invest in fixing the road, it will drastically improve guest experience as they come and go from the resort.
