This was my first time to this coffee shop. My second time to La Jolla. This was a very good find. I didn’t try any of the pastries or food although they did look very yummy. However, I did have the very best cold brew that I’ve ever had. It was a cinnamon cold brew that I know wasn’t a skinny version and may have had quite a bit of sugar, but it was worth every sip if I ever get back to La Jolla this is a must stop.

What a great little spot for breakfast/brunch. Had their breakfast wrap, and it was delicious. It had everything that you would want for breakfast in a wrap. A little under seasoned, but there's a self-serve station with condiments, salt and pepper. Outdoor seating by a not-so-busy street. Visited this coffee shop today while hanging in La Jolla. Order caramel
Machiatto iced and they our whip cream which was treat. It was delicious. Then I order the chipotle turkey sandwich which was also good. The ladies working there were very nice and attended to me right away when I walked it. I sat on the patio and read for a little while which was nice. Great place to pop in for a coffee, pastry or sandwich.

Stopped in for a cup of coffee and was surprised at how efficient these people are. I ordered my coffee and the only question they had was light roast or dark roast (I hate when people ask me if I want it iced, if I did, I would’ve ordered an iced coffee). I replied with dark roast and before I could pay another employee had poured my coffee, and was handing it to me.

I had a Monkey Bite espresso and the coffee had excellent body and sweetness. This time, we got the Party Animal pizza and it was also very good with good presentation. The service was fast and kind. It's great to have this style of pizza so close to UCSD.

I tried Bird Rock Coffee for the first time today and really enjoyed my “Left Coast Latte”, which is a delicious salted caramel flavor. I ordered online and it gave me so many options to customize my drink exactly how I wanted it. Very good coffee shop. The atmosphere is nice and it’s a great place to hang out and talk. At this moment (June 2025) it’s not the best spot for meetings, video calls, classes, or even studying or reading, at least outside, since there’s construction going on right in front of it. My partner chose this place for breakfast, one morning in La Jolla, as we attempted to pass a little time, hoping the all-encompassing gray clouds would burn off, at the beach.
Harry's Coffee Shop is like walking into a Time Warp, of pure Americana. It has that perfect diner vibe. Vintage pictures line the walls here. My favorite, was of the owner, standing alongside Willie Mays. It was a huge booth to ceiling black & white photo, which reminded an old timer like me, of my days of listening to baseball on the radio.
Now on to the food. I loved my breakfast here! The hash browns were amazingly crisp-both sides, and had that strived-for golden brown color. My chicken-fried steak was a decently-sized portion, with a nice floured & fried coating, plus it was smothered in a distinctly different & delicious white gravy, with hints of rosemary. My scrambled eggs arrived to my table hot, & had a creamy texture, with buttery flavor.
Our server was attentive, & friendly, bringing me a stainless steel carafe of coffee, after I plowed through my first cup. Near the end of our visit here, service lagged, & our server was slow to get our check, & to-go boxes. For this reason, I gave 4 stars for service. Everything else about our time here, was perfect.
This place has been here, since 1960, & after eating here, I can certainly see why. The prices are decent, & the menu choices, abundant.
My partner loved her Veggie Omelette, & she chose a Pancake, for her choice of bread, which was delicious, as well.
The bathroom at Harry's, is located down a long narrow hallway, & out the back door of the restaurant, then just to your right. I thought it a bit odd, the location of it, but the restroom was tidy & clean.
I loved this quaint coffee shop, which serves old timey vibes, & excellent food.

Let me preface this by saying I’m not one to leave one star reviews without a good reason. My family has worked in the service industry and it can be a tough gig for sure. But wow…the level of service we received today was low. The person working just could not make eye contact with my friend as she ordered, and actually ignored her for about the first fifteen seconds before a blunt “What do you want” while facing away from her. He also didn’t make eye contact with her while handing out her order or giving her drink suggestions. Which—you know, some people are just like that. Except the worker had no problem making eye contact and small talk with either men who ordered before and after us. We love playing casual volleyball games at La Jolla Shores Beach, and I looked up nearby food spots, perfect find! This place is great. Just a heads-up: there’s usually a long line if you’re dining in. But if you’re ordering to-go, the line is much shorter, which worked better for us since we wanted to head back, relax, and enjoy the beach with friends and family.

Dog friendly place and wheelchair friendly. There’a about 9 tables outside that seat 2-4 each and a couple inside as well. The lines are pretty long but definitely worth it! We got the lobster roll and the honey bee blueberry smoothie. Both were pricey but they do not skimp out on the lobster. It was so delicious. I’m not a big fan of lobster rolls but this one was hands down my favorite! Even though it was more of a sandwich than a roll, the bread was perfectly buttered and toasted. I’ll be coming back to try out the rest of the menu!

My boyfriend and I were excited to try this place, but the service left us feeling uncomfortable and disrespected.
When we walked in the staff member at the counter didn’t greet us. She just stared silently and looked unhappy to be there, but that’s okay really. I said hi, but still got no response, which was awkward. As customers, we don’t expect over the top friendliness, but basic courtesy is the bare minimum. Hoping the management sees this and addresses the service since no one should feel like a burden just for placing an order.
Needless to say we won’t be back. The food was good but not worth that experience. I recommend The Cottage.

We had a delicious and breezy Sunday brunch on the patio today and it felt so good!! We arrived at 9:30am - the line moved quick and we were able to find a table with no wait. The drinks were not overly sweet and we both loved our dishes.

Yesterday, I stopped by Coffee Cycle (the new OB location 4856 Voltaire between Cable and Sunset Cliffs Blvd) for the first time, and it was an experience that completely exceeded my expectations. We got the molletes and to drink I got the Mexican mocha, both were excellent flavor! 2 of those dishes plus my mocha, my bf got a coke, no free water (it was $2) and tip was just over $50. The reason they didn't get 5 stars is just the price and portion size, the normal bolillos are generally much bigger. Also no free water was kind of a bummer.

Rating this on coffee/ espresso not very good. Very weak and does not taste great. Food is good though except for the pastries and croissant which offer no originality or great taste and are from a mass produced fancy bakery that seems to be standard in most places. Unfortunately I have to rate the new food menu a 3 because the online ordering menu is not user friendly and you don’t have an option to select which bread for your sandwich. Breakfast sandwich I ordered yesterday was delish but very little chipotle. No other dressing like mayo etc so your sandwich comes dry if the dressing isn’t coating the bun.
I ordered the spicy turkey sandwich today that’s $12.95 with chips. Unfortunately they were out of chips. And the sandwich had a lot more chipotle to make it a lil wet and there was no arugula in my sandwich.

A hidden gem in San Diego, Dripz Coffee is a vegan café in the heart of La Jolla with distinct Asian flavours. I discovered it while looking for cafes in the area to do some work and was very glad I did. The most prominently featured menu item is the Vietnamese coffee, with a pandan or ube cream topping. The cream adds a unique Asian taste without overpowering the strong Vietnamese coffee underneath. While I slightly preferred the pandan over the ube, I thought both flavours paired well together with the coffee and made for a great combination.

I had a chance to speak personally with the owner Sylvia and her colleague Janet who were incredibly kind, hard working and wonderful to chat with! They even made my experience here all the more welcoming by taking me behind the scenes and showing me how the cookie making process comes together.
Overall, this is a must-go-place! There are some more traditional options on the menu for the unconverted, but I highly recommend getting the pandan or ube Vietnamese coffee. Dripz also shares the space with its vegan restaurant sister establishment Sipz, although their hours are different. Definitely worth stopping by the next time you're in La Jolla!
