We were met by a pleasant young man who showed us to our table. The food was really well cooked and flavoursome, and the yorkshire puddings were really tasty, light and fluffy. Breakfast options are continental buffet and differing variations of traditional full english fare. All cooked food was prepared to order and super tasty. All the staff were extremely polite, helpful and professional but I'd like to give special mention to Becky on reception for going above and beyond. Bland pub food which is overpriced, compared to many of the other places to eat in the local area. Where it was went wrong was the service. We paid for all food and drinks at the bar and were charged a 10% discretionary service charge. Had we have known how awful the service was we would not have paid it. Staff at the bar appeared uninterested, spent most of the time chatting to each other and did not know what was available on the menu. Our food order was wrong and after some awkward shuffling and mumbling from the wait staff the correct meal arrived but without an apology. After the meal no one cleared our plates and we had to move them to another table, the restaurant and bar were not busy. After some time a different wait staff member was sent to clean the dirty plates away. We could hear them moaning to themselves about clearing the plates from where we sitting. I would avoid this establishment and go somewhere where you are met with a warm welcome. Where the staff know the menu and know how to treat customers spending their hard earned cash.
