Unfortunately the pepperoni pizza wasn’t great. There was not that much flavour and tasted like an oven pizza you get from a supermarket. On top of that it took them 35mins to make one single pizza… the waiters were nice but why do they walk around you all the time? We were literally being watched lol. We then ordered the brownie and it tasted like plastic. The cherry on top was being charged 10% for tip!! They said the system does it automatically… the music and view are nice though. The Fettuccine Alfredo and Fettuccine Lasagna were delicious. Maybe we were just hungry, but they were as good as I've had back home. The sauce seems really watery when it comes out, but it is rather yummy and scoops up nicely as you go. The bread came out warm and was soft and wonderful as well! If you're really looking for some Guatamalan flavor, their Maracuyá (passion fruit) and Guanábana (soursop) drinks are absolutely worth a try. They are non alcoholic and taste like the fruits themselves. Quite possibly the best drinks we've had on the island.

My fiancé ordered the veggie burger but I made the mistake of ordering the papaya salad - the dressing had about 5 cloves of garlic and was overwhelmingly strong. The flavor was just too pungent and killed all the other ingredients' flavors. It wasn't filling at all and I left even hungrier than I was before entering the restaurant. Also, it was supposed to come with pumpkin seeds but it didn't and when I asked about them the waiter just shrugged. As others have said the whole white fish is incredible, I ordered it based on the reviews I'd seen and wasn't disappointed, it really was something special. Also honourable mention to the chips, like old fashioned chip pan chips, which are great. We went to Maracuyá about everyday we were on the island! The staff were extremely polite they had earnest smiles and friendly, welcoming energy. On top of that the food was incredible and they had plenty of options that catered to my vegan pallet. The staff never rushed us, they remembered us each time we visited, and they never got upset with our broken Spanish.

We ended up at his restaurant thanks to the women we met in the middle of the jungle(the most amazing and unexpected local guide that we never thought we'd meet on this whole trip). We crossed the river by the boat from the other side of the flores island to get to this diner. When we arrived it was about 2-3pm and still there were a lot of local people but it seems like they close early around 16pm or so. What I really liked about this restaurant is that they had great view, next to the lake, had humungous size of michelada(Where fits two bottles of cabra), I liked the smoked flavor of the costilla(pork ribs) but then they could use some salsa on the side(as an option) and a little less fat on the costilla. I mean I can´t say how their ribs usually are, but mine had too much fat. Although, I´d recommend to others who visit to Flores. Definitely worth a stop.

The machete looked unique and I always get Al pastor, but even that was pretty bad. While it had more flavor, it wasn't as strong.
To make it all worst, it's more expensive than nearby restaurants which serve more authentic, fresh food like El Sótano.
Saving grace was the friendly staff, but that's it really. They were really nice and moved the fans for us and were quick. It's a self-serve restaurant though, don't expect too much table service.

The WORST restaurant we’ve done in Flores. After reading all the great reviews, we decided to test it out.
We got to the restaurant at 9:15, the lady at the entry was about the only nice experience we had here.
We got to our table and the table cloth was disgusting. We were the last table of the night and the waitress was extremely unpleasant.

After waiting for about 20minutes without being served anything, the drinks and food came all at once.

Well this wasn’t the best possible dining experience. Not horrible, but definitely not even a good one. This restaurant is run by amateurs. The waiter is a teenage kid who is too busy to listen for clients’ orders until the end. Placed once in Spanish, once in English and the third time pointing by fingers he got it right. The kid probably tried his best, but his place would be in school and not serving in the family restaurant.
The food was poor - chicken breast dish was only a fillet cooked completely dry, seasoned with salt only, a single unpeeled boiled potato and some bean pure. No dressing, no spices, no vegetables etc. Only Q60 but not worth a penny, unfortunately.
On a top of the cake the tips were added to the bill without mentioning anything on the menu or anywhere else.
The interior was nice and beer was cold. Otherwise a lousy experience reminding not to pick the cheapest restaurant.
There are plenty of good alternatives on Flores Island and I suggest to pick one of the others.

If you can reply to a bad review in less than 20mins, you can update that your restaurant is temporarily closed just as quickly.

I love their breakfasts! They are filling without being heavy, and always include plenty of veggies. The breakfast was always vegetarian. Since I was staying at the hotel, I ate breakfast on the terrace. Lunch is available to be picked up "to go" since the restaurant isn't officially open yet, though they'll be open for dine-in soon.
For the lunch choices, there are sometimes vegetarian options and sometimes not, but I was able to request it without meat without issue. The food was fresh and tastes great and is reasonably priced - I highly recommend this place!
