So it is hard to get a park. The hotel itself is good, plenty of staff to serve you and clean considering the muddy mess out side. After another 20 minutes (meals had arrived, yet still no drink), I queried as to its whereabouts with the bar lady. It had been forgotten about. Thankfully it only took another 10 minutes to be remade as the jug version of the drink (pictured). Now we had 1.5L of mocktail to drink with our meals 😂 ...would have been nice earlier, but it is what it is! The food (3x parmi's + an entree garlic bread, also pictured) was nice, 4/5... though there was a bit of chaos going on in the kitchen by the sounds of it. Bowls being dropped occasionally, bit of loud talking. During our wait for the food, we did see another gentleman get a little terse after waiting 50 minutes for his lemon meringue pie dessert. And the family next to us sent a seafood feast back for some reason (unsure why) - so we weren't the only ones having issues with things. So to wrap up, the wait staff were all doing their best and were very apologetic - pretty much constantly apologising to patrons for something... The food, the wait, an incorrect order - whatever it was. However, it sounds as though this venue needs a few more staff (at least 1, maybe 2?) to assist around the place to keep the wheels turning, improve service and communication and provide a better experience overall. Of course, I realise staff may have been rostered off, away or sick unexpectedly the night we went - but that old adage "set the expectation from the start" rings true. If you're down crew or if the wait times are going to be long, just say that right from the beginning. Then we're cool - because we know what to expect. Sadly, there are major works happening right outside this spot in Mission Beach making the vibe here a little off what it could be.
