I was very excited to come here and try the food. After placing our orders my chicken fried steak had this weird taste and the green beans were soggy and just didn't taste right. My server was okay until I walked up and returned my food and apologized but something just doesn't taste right. All the food was fresh and the tables and countertops were diligently cleaned. I’d give the breakfast area at least an A-. Definitely a cut above most other hotel buffet breakfasts I’ve had. If I were to return to Lake Chelan I would happily book a room at the Lakeside Lodge (I’d definitely ask for a room on the 3rd or 4th floor with a north view looking across the lake toward Mason. Those large double rooms are worth any increased cost.) The Lodge is about a 7-minute (2.5 mile) drive from downtown Chelan, so not within an easy walking distance. But that also means you don’t hear the car traffic in Chelan downtown on a Friday or Saturday night, which can get busy in the summer.
