大きなツリーハウスにはバーがあったり、時間によっては生演奏のライブが行われていたりと地元でも人気のレストランなんだそうです。
2階のテーブルを取って海からの夜風を感じながら、まずは定番のサンミゲルで乾杯！
今回のビールは「San Miguel Premium」。サンミゲルはいろいろな種類があって、コンビニやスーパーには6種類ほどのサンミゲルが並んでいました。
このプレミアムは若干苦みが強くて飲み応えもある。とはいえ暑い地域のビールですからベースは軽いのでとっても飲みやすいですね。
フィリピン料理の中でも結構名前の知れた「ルンピア」。
ひき肉と野菜の揚げ春巻きでチリソースをつけながら食べるとビールにめちゃくちゃ合う。
シーフードレストランということで海老のグリルが美味しいから食べよう！となっていたんですが、なんとこの日は入荷なし･･･かわりに牡蠣をグリルしてもらいました。
「ベイクド タラバ（タガログ語で牡蠣）」はかなり小振りな牡蠣でしたが味は濃く美味しかった。しかし小さすぎる。日本の牡蠣ってデカくて美味しいよね〜。
もう1種類違うメーカーのビールがあったので注文してみました。
地元ではこちらのほうが人気があるという「RED HORSE BEER」です。サンミゲルのアルコール度数が5%に対しこちらは8%。安くて酔えるから人気なのも分かりますね。
カリカリに揚がった豚肉は「レチョン カワリ」。醤油っぽいソースを付けて食べるとクリスピーで香ばしくビールのつまみに最高。ずっと噛んでいたい。
東南アジアだから似た料理がいろいろありますね。これはタイの「ムーグローブ」にそっくり。
「シャンハイ フライドライス」。なぜ上海なのかわからないけど普通に美味しい炒飯です。フィリピンに来て初めて美味しいと思った米でした。
「シニガン バボイ」は2日目に食べた「ニラガ」によく似た酸味の効いたスープ。
豚のバラ肉がゴロゴロと入っていてトマトや空芯菜、大根も入っている。「ニラガ」が美味しすぎたので霞んでいるけどこれはこれでハマる味付けだなぁ。
ここは本当に美味しかった！ただ、一皿の量が多い！二人でこの量は、マジでキツかった〜。

It wouldn't be as much of an issue if the Djs knew how to properly mix the songs together, but they don't. Pretty cool place to visit whether you’re a local or a tourist. We went on a Wednesday, but if you’re a female go there on a Thursday cause it females nights which has free entry and a drink card. If you go any other night before 11pm it’s free but when we came on Wednesday at 11.20pm we had to pay 100p each which gave us entry and a drink card. Upstairs is normally open but this night the owners had closed it off for themselves to dance. Downstairs was still pretty cool and even outside on the deck is quite chill to hang with mates, smoke and drink there which doesn’t cost entry. You can also buy those big containers to self pour and buckets with spirits and ice for you to pour yourself as well. The Dj we had that night was pretty cool and played music from the latest songs of that year all the way back to spice girls lol which we loved. We went with all girls and felt that there was enough security on that night to make sure no one felt unsafe, however we also noticed a lot of people had passed out on the tables they were sitting at with friends due to drinking too much but weren’t kicked out - so I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or not, but all in all we had a great night!

Saturday evening, Hayahay was too busy and ended up next door in Lab-as.... Lucky discovery because I really liked the food and the restaurant had air-conditioning.
Service wasn't very attentive, but they did have these "Service" button near the table. Felt like a teacher's pet or an airplane passenger calling a flight attendant in the night for using it though. The dining room wasn't that busy, so not sure why staff was huddled up in a corner.
The food was delicious and better than other Filipino restaurants in the city. Though the Macho Nachos (which had different prices on different menus) were a bit salty. The food was plentiful and ended up with leftovers.
Meal for two with soft drinks/ shakes was just over P1000 with service included in the total.
We'll definitely return to try other dishes.

Asked the manager to cancel it and they still keep insisting that they will serve it 😆 after telling we are no longer interested and we are leaving, they still try to insist. Third time - the waiters keep ignoring us about service water. Had to follow up with them every 30 minutes.

Only thing i could say is that Cafe Racer is more of a drinking place than it is a restaurant.

I might be bias, I frequent this place when I was in Uni back in 06. This was my first visit in over 16 years, and of course, I brought my siblings who are now studying in Dumaguete. I can't stop talking how it used to look, and my adventures back in the day.
The outside didn't change much but the interior got upgraded like 100x. My friends and I used to go hear at dawn after playing dota or drinking. This place used to be a 24/6 place, they're close on Sundays. Now it's a boutique restaurant, they open at 11 am. Of course, I got my all-time-favourite tocilog. Solbar looks like a very nice and relaxing place in the shade of tall trees. The ambiance is really nice. We were there for craft beer. There are just 2 available, firstly there is a Pilsner for 139 pesos. The other is an India Pale Ale at 199 pesos. Both beers are pleasant. Easy drinking beers. Certainly not challenging. We are 6 people in our group so we had our room for ourselves. It has its own bathroom inside and it’s clean. It was our first time to visit Balay ni Lola and we had a great time. The resto is located along Escaño Road and is very accessible. I can say that their Mojito is the BEST, it is on the sweeter side and it blends well with the alcohol. The mint was not too over powering. I love that they used calamansi instead of lime because it captures our filipino taste buds and paired together with mint creates a refreshing drink in a hot afternoon. The gin and tonic was not my personal favorite because I'm not used to tasting tonic water which makes it bland. It feels like drinking lemon water with alcohol. Their slushes were AMAZING, it is cheap and the alcohol that they mixed in will give a punch. The lychee and lemon slushes are a MUST TRY.
The ambiance in the afternoon is amazing for a chill afternoon. It gives a nice cool breeze from the ocean and the interior design is cozy. HOWEVER, during the night, the music is too loud which makes it hard to communicate. I recommend that they play a chill cafe music because their atmosphere is giving "where rich retired people chill"

I didn’t want to take away from the overall experience. It was our first time here so we had no expectations.
We ordered the following:
Sesame Peanut Noodle was good, simple clean flavors.
Popiah was salty maybe from the flavor of the shrimp or the wrapper and changed the sauce to sweet chili.
Nasi Lemak just had one too many layers of salty components, the chicken was too salty on top of fried anchovies and the sambal was quite salty as well.

I was delighted to find a Malaysian restaurant in Dumaguete a short walk from our hostel so I have to pay homage by visiting! I LOVE the Cincai lah! neon-lit wall, this is the absolute Malaysian vibe! 🙌🏻
Food wise, we ordered the Kampua Mee and Char Kway Teow. The Kampua Mee is really tasty, although I do not know how does this compare to the normal standard as I’m not East Malaysian and have not tasted enough to judge. The serving is small for the Kampua Mee. However for the Char Kway Teow, this does not compare at all to Malaysian Char Kway Teow, it isn’t bad as a dish, with a generous serving of shrimps and the portion is large, just don’t expect it to taste anywhere near to a Malaysian Char Kway Teow.
The other bummer is that we waited over 40mins for our food to be served. And the price is on the pricier side. Otherwise, good vibes.

Came here for the Kasadya Kick Off Party for Pride month hosted by the Dumaguete Drag Queens. Ive been here before for a Christmas party for the Physical Therapists of Dgte. I havent really ordered any food here so I actually cant comment about it, but the Grape Soda(?) I was recommended was good.
So far the service is good, the people are accomodating and welcoming.
The place itself is incredibly interesting to me. Its just one square block of a room with a bar at one end and a bathroom in the corner, with chairs and tables and lounges to the sides. I havent been here during actual peak clubbing/bar hours, so I cant imagine how it would be if it was actually crowded. Its minimal but also has an industrial feel. Not sure how to feel about it since its kind of restrictive. I guess its up to your tate.
Overall no negative experiences here.

My friends and i collectively had a bad week and we wanted to blow off some steam. We decided to visit Ritual. Upon arriving we were stopped by the bouncers and said that some of our friends cant enter because they were not weAring closed shoes. He said, and i quote “dili pwede and sandals”. They seemed unsure and called their manager who then told us the he would have to ask someone else. Without even talking to us she left. Feeling dismissed and for us not to ruin out night we decided to leave and transfer. Just when we were about to jump back to our car i saw a girl, already inside, wearing almost the same footwear as my friend. We circled back and asked on of the bouncers who said “KAY BAYI MAN SILA”. BTW i was with my trans friends. I called the manager again who came out but instead of talking to us talked to the bouncers again. She never gave any explanation or even apologized for what the bouncer said.
Overall, the experience was piss poor and left a very bad taste in our mouths. A manager who cant even handle a simple customer service. Its 2023, establishments like this should not have such backwards beliefs.
