I feel so lucky to have experienced the magic of the Gourmet Food Kitchen in Fargo Village, Coventry. My visit in March was a belated birthday treat, and what an unforgettable gift it turned out to be! I have food allergies, which can sometimes make eating out a little daunting, but Tony took the time to accommodate my needs without compromising on flavor or the experience. It was clear he genuinely cares about his guests and wants everyone to enjoy the meal to its fullest.
The tasting menu we enjoyed that evening was absolutely stunning. From the creamy Celeriac Veloute paired with Lincolnshire Poacher Rarebit to the tender Duck Breast with Cherry Sauce and the most divine White Chocolate and Vanilla Cheesecake paired with a tangy rhubarb sorbet, every bite was a revelation. Tony’s creativity and expertise shone through in every dish, blending flavors with confidence and flair.
One of the most refreshing aspects of the evening was how relaxed and welcoming the atmosphere was. It’s rare to find fine dining that doesn’t feel intimidating, but Tony’s passion for great food comes through in such an honest, friendly way. Unique dining experience unlike other establishments- you’re actually sat in a long table with other guests. You can bring your own booze/ drinks. But they do offer coffee/ tea with our last course- petit fours (chocolate made in-house by the chef). There’s lots of shops around the corner that sells liquor- so you can easily get them before your meal.
Added a few more new photos from other visits. Again, the food was equally amazing!
You’ll never be bored of their menu as Tony manages to come up with new menu every month!
They also started bagels for morning/ brunch. The fish fingers and beef bagels were to die for! Freshly made in house!

Fabulous evening at Coventrys Gourmet Food Kitchen with Chef Tony & his wife Debs.
It's a tasting menu with a maximum of 12 people sat a one large table. You get to chat with the other guests & with the hosts as the restaurant is lovely & intimate - like being invited to a dinner party, where you have a view of the kitchen.
Bring your own booze as it's not able to provide bar facilities. This is great, as it keeps down the cost & you know you are going to enjoy the drinks - you brought them! Glasses, bottle opener & water are provided.
Now to the food, each dish was delicious but I'll let the photos do most of the talking. So many processes & so much work goes into each one. As an example, the Home smoked Duck- smoked in a aged oak whisky barrel. The Duck croquettes- Confit leg of Duck with a Duck reduction.
Portion sizes are generous for fine dining but luckily my son was there to help out as my appetite couldn't finish every dish. When it came to the dessert - sublime Lemon tart, with just the right amount of sharp to sweet for me, I had to concede & took home some of the Lemon tart with the Honey Tuelle & the petite fours. Far to scrumptious to let my son have, besides, he was pretty full by then too.
This was my 2nd visit & I will definitely return again for the fine dining. Haven't tried the other menu's - Such as Breakfast & Fish & Chips but fully intend too.

If there was any justice this place would be rammed with a waiting list on top. I'm not given to hyperbole, but this was the best burger I've ever had.
Everything is made fresh on the premises including the bagels, and it shows.
Fargo Village is one of my favorite places to visit and I genuinely feel as though I've been missing out by not calling in here.
There's a few places to eat here and I wouldn't want to say not to eat at any of the others but if you don't try the GFK you really are missing out.

There’s a wide selection of sweet and savoury snacks, coffee is delicious and there’s an impressive choice of alternative milk. If you are looking for a real life Karen’s coffee shop, THIS is the place for you. They do not need to act rude or deliver the worst service I've ever experienced, it appeared to come naturally to them. Their excuse…”they were very busy”…Too busy to be polite? Obviously. Attitude was spectacularly offensive and arrogant. Coffee was mildly warm, arrived 5 minutes apart and food despite tasting ok arrived long after we finished our drinks.
On payment they blamed my card for not working and that was my fault…until it worked perfectly on the other payment machine (go figure).

One of the few places in Leamington Spa that sells authentic artisan coffee. Their selection of cakes and pastries was excellent and fresh. Although we didn’t eat, they also a a good looking lunch menu too.

This place has such stunningly beautiful food! So tasty and full of flavour. The menu has a real Middle Eastern vibe which I wasn’t expecting from the previous pictures, and it was glorious. Owen, Emily and the team hosted my sister’s baby shower at the weekend, the service was excellent, the food was incredible (vegan, GF and vegetarian food included) and I couldn’t recommend Time for Tea enough! The downturn to it was the food 😩 Pancakes were mediocre, however the hot chocolate was disastrous. All I wanted was a good mug of hot chocolate on a cold autumn morning, but to my dismay I got the complete opposite. It was extremely diluted, the cocoa powder wasn’t mixed well and it was EXTREMELY BITTER (I added multiple packets of white sugar yet the bitterness couldn’t be undone). It’s really a shame that the food and beverage here is below par because I believe there’s so much potential for them to improve given the stunning surrounding and number of tourists around the area 😔

Dropped into coffee number 1 whilst in Leamington Spa on our way home from Duxford in Cambridgeshire. We usually use this chain of coffee shops as we find them nice places to visit. This was NOT the case in Leamington, it is, by far, the dirtiest, poorly run coffee number 1 that I have had the misfortune to visit. The teapot,milk jug and glass we received were all quite filthy, even the replacements I requested were equally dirty. If we hadn't already paid I would have left in disgust. Avoid!

Regularly they are understaffed and its very common that the majority of tables are dirty and not yet cleared away. Stumbled across this when wandering around on the way to get some breakfast, and noticed they did a fry-up, so stopped off there. And glad we did!
It's a comfortable spacious cafe with free-standing chairs/tables, popular with the older crowd and a perfect place to take a load off for a cuppa plus cake, as they have a great assortment in the display racks.
I was happy with the small breakfast which came with toast (that was delivered sooner so cooled off by the time the main dish arrived) and a pot of tea. It wasn't a large plate, but contained all the right ingredients. Although brown sauce and ketchup are available, I didn't see any mustard.

Often used as a place for Christians to hang out because of the connection to St. Mark's Church, but all are welcome and inevitably the staff are very pleasant indeed. I work for an environmental charity, and we were planting 1000s of trees all around Coventry. And The Pod has been our official food partners through all the events. I went to them with a request for food that can be easily eaten by really muddy volunteers, who have been planting trees, and I came back to this amazingly luxurious platter of falafels and wraps, with tantalising herb dips and sauces. The food was just amazing. They were fresh, felt so homemade, comforting and delicious. They even delivered it to all our tree planting sites. And did I mention, our volunteers absolutely loved!! There are a few coffee places here, each with its own personality. This one just has a nice energy to it, with various seating options: stools & high table, normal tables and sofas, staffed by people of different ages, music playing at a nice ‘background’ level. A place you could easily spend an hour or two. Lots of cake & slice options.
I had the lemon and blueberry cake. For me, Miss Fussy Pants, the cake was a little dry and the icing too sweet, but I’m not marking the place down from 4 star because this is just my personal preference for non-sweet icing.
I would recommend the owner / baker goes to Time for Tea on Castle Hill and tries their Lemon & Cherry cake for comparison of a moist, fluffy cake and an icing that isn’t overpowered by sweetness.

Very nice cafe with excellent tea and coffee. The food i had, toasted brioche with poached eggs, hollandaise and bacon was very nice. The egg yolks were very pale, not the lovely vibrant yellow which is nice to see, but it tasted good. When we visit new areas we always try to support local independent businesses. Cafe on the Corner looked interesting so we popped in for tea and cake. The decor is lovely and the staff helpful. Orders are taken and paid for at the table.
I ordered the vegan/gluten free chocolate cake-it was very dry/stale ; the waitress changed it for a blueberry cake which was delicious.
At first glance the selection of cakes was amazing and it was good to see a few gluten-free cakes available, however, the gluten free cakes were in the same space as other cakes so high possibility of cross contamination.

I went there for the 1st time since the upgrade, and whereas before the cafe was packed and very popular it now seems very quiet with hardly any customers (Sunday early afternoon). The food choice didn't seem as varied, but what I had was very good, well presented and swiftly served. The prices are also pretty moderate. I’m a regular at this costa which normally has a good and friendly service but today (17th Jan) the staff were dreadful. I didn’t get my drink of coffee served in a mug just a paper cup even though I came in the middle of the afternoon and to drink on site. Very disappointing drop in quality from previous visits
We have eaten at this place many times over the last 2 years and always loved it but this time there was just problem after problem. We arrived with only 1 other table occupied and waited over 20 mins to get our drinks, when the coffee came we had to send it back due to mug being covered in previous persons lipstick we then waited a further hour to get a burger and eggs Benedict. The burger was ordered with extra bacon which did not come, the buns were dried and rock hard and the most ridiculous part was the eggs Benedict that came with so much hollandaise sauce that you can’t even see the food beneath it, the dish was literally swimming in it making the meal inedible without getting a mouthful of sauce every time. The waiter did not seem to care at all when we pointed out that egg Benedict is awful and it put us off for a long time. When we asked for a bill she forgot the bill even though we complained and we were the last two people at the cafe. When we went to pay the staff member that we complained to was quite indifferent about the problem and only offered a small discount.
It is a shame because this used to be a favorite place for us and now it’s unlikely we will go back.

This was lovely place to stop and have brunch before heading to Kenilworth Castle. I had the stack of pancakes with berries, maple syrup and crispy bacon and my friend had the tiger bread toastie with ham and cheese. Found this little gem of a cafe on our way home from Coventry. The staff were amazing, more than happy for us to switch tables when another became free. We had the large full english, which was incredible! So tasty.
The homemade cakes were fantastic, even catering for gluten free requirements if you have an intolerance. Wish we had bought more as it was the best millionaire shortbread I've ever had.
If we are ever back in the area we will definitely be going back

Nice to discover this cafe. We had gone to one in the old town to start with, but were not served or acknowledged when we went in, also the atmosphere was very quiet and the menu dull. Deli on the hill felt a much nicer cafe to enter. They also had a wide menu with lots of good sounding meals and drink choices.
I had a chunky fish finger sandwich on tiger bread, which sounded delicious. Whilst tasting good, my vision of chunky fish fingers and door stop tiger bread was, unfortunately not reality. Shame as this could have been excellent.
The waiting staff were friendly and polite and the cafe allowed dogs inside, so bonus if you have a dog.
Overall, I would go again as the atmosphere was good, it was busy but not overcr6and the food tasted good.

We feel very Lucky to live in Kenilworth & would definitely recommend Deli on the Hill to anyone visiting our beautiful town. I did believe my breakfast and pot of tea at £7.85 was quite reasonable and the only negative I had to say was that the teacup and plate was a bit tiny.

We have visited this cafe a few times now and always found it pleasant enough. Today, after having spent the best part of £20 on a toastie, a very dry fruit scone and two coffees, our plates were swiftly cleared away and we were just finishing our daily Quordle game. Visited for (early!) lunch, we ordered a ciabatta and panini. Both were freshly prepared and served hot, very tasty and washed down with a San pellegrino. Also ordered a hot chocolate and double espresso, and bought some cannoli (lemon for my other half, pistachio for myself).
Lots of delicious looking desserts including gelato available. Also sells pasta, jars of pasta sauce, various Italian snacks and cakes.

A nice little cafe on the high street serving a small range of goodies.
We had a nice stop here on 8/6/24. I had a scone with jam and cream and a smoothie. The scone was lovely. The smoothie wasn't smooth. It was very lumpy and huge chunks of fruit or ice wouldn't go up the straw. It tasted nice and I enjoyed it but it could have done with a few more spins in the blender.
The service was pretty quick and they got everything right. We sat outwide and some of the metal chairs could have done with a good clean. The little flowers and things outside gave a really nice effect and sitting on the high street was actually really nice.

I was truly disappointed with this place we went today on a Sunday, it wasn't particularly busy and had a handful of empty tables.
Having ordered a flat white and a lemon cake l, as awell as my group ordering food and coffee.

This wasn't the worst part, the lemon cake that I had ordered and paid for was sold and served to another customer while I was waiting 20 mins for my poor coffee the staff advised that the cake was not available when I asked it was there when I paid for it they just said sorry you can have an alternative or your money back. I took the refund as nothing else was vegan.
A friend had ordered a croissant with brie and cranberry jam only to get a bacon croissant!
I wouldn't go back to be honest and I'm not really a complaining person but this was bad.

Nice coffee house, went there after lunch time on a Sunday. The inside was quite busy but there are some outdoor seatings as well which were all available. It was lovely sitting under the sun in mid September when it's neither hot nor cold .
We had red velvet cake with coffee and a chocolate orange muffin with hot chocolate.
