Great vibes, open air seating whether inside or outside it felt very open. The staff were very friendly and their menu was very versatile! They have all different flavors of coffee, plus matcha, & teas. Everything was delicious. The Matcha is very light and not sweet at all so I needed some simple syrup in mine. Grind House Coffee is a fantastic coffee shop with excellent coffee and friendly baristas. The atmosphere is laid-back and chill, making it a great spot to relax or get some work done. Their coffee, which I believe comes from the Northwest, is rich and flavorful, though I can’t quite recall the brand.
Seating is somewhat limited, but they offer small café tables and bar counter seating. One of my favorite things about this place is how pet-friendly they are—my Frenchie, Bella, always gets a complimentary pup cup with a little dog treat on top!

I really like this spot. It’s quaint, aesthetically quirky, and the staff is exceptional. It’s smack dab in the middle of Third Avenue, making it a great stop on your way to other events, or a nice place to chill for a while and work or chat with friends.

Update: Came by today around 3:30pm and ordered an Arnold Palmer and a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. The Arnold Palmer was your regular Arnold Palmer, but was refreshing and enjoyable. The sandwich was really nice! The bun was high-quality, the egg was thick and tasty, and the aioli on it had a nice consistency and kick. I want to come back soon and try a few other espresso drinks.

I come here every time I have an appointment somewhere in the building, and I'm so happy they're open early. I've only tried breakfast foods but they've always been good, and the Mexican Mocha 🤌 so delicious!
This last time I had the Chipotle Chilaquiles and they were so good!! The sauce was so creamy but you could still taste the chipotle, and still had a hint of spice, very balanced and tasty 😄 I'm a sucker for a good chipotle sauce! The potatoes were crispy but soft inside too. They have fresh baked cookies too, I saw them just come out the oven and they look big and delicious.
I also noticed they have a little power bank renting machine, which is so convenient.
I definitely recommend this place, if you're in the area it's worth giving it a try!

This place was so cozy and warm. Their space is small but the furniture is organized so well it feels spacious instead of overwhelming. Each place to sit has a cute little succulent(real plant) place at the center of the table. The coffee and the food were delicious and reasonably priced!! The service was very quick and exceptionally friendly. I am just passing through so I am jealous of the locals that get to frequent this location!! Despite being next to a McDonald’s, I’m glad I chose this location to grab breakfast. There’s plenty of parking and their menu is full of delicious choices. I got an egg sandwich on a cheese bagel with pesto mozzarella and spinach. I also got an iced chai with oat milk. The prices are definitely higher than fast food but well worth it. We stopped by Cool Down Coffee for breakfast, hoping for a nice start to the day, but unfortunately, it turned out to be disappointing.
We ordered two Americanos, a cream cheese bagel, and a croissant. After taking a bite of the bagel, we noticed a large hair embedded in it—an instant red flag for hygiene.
I returned it to the counter, where they replaced the bagel but only offered a very minimal apology without any other attempt to make up for the experience.
The baked goods seemed store-bought rather than freshly baked on-site, which detracted from the quality.
Additionally, I observed that one of the men working in the kitchen had noticeable long hair and wasn’t wearing a hairnet, which likely contributed to the hygiene issues.
To top it off, the prices were surprisingly high for the quality provided.
Overall, I wouldn’t recommend Cool Down Coffee due to both the hygiene concerns and the unremarkable quality for the price.

I’ll definitely come back here. We happened upon it by chance heading back up to LA, and let me say, the location is amazing. It is so peaceful there and it has a great view of the ocean and nature while you enjoy your coffee. It was easy to get there to and from the freeway, so bonus points for that.
The inside was absolutely adorable. I loved the way it looked and I definitely wanted to play the arcade games and I would have if I had more time. The whole mid century vibe works so well, especially attached to the motel. I’m especially in love with the bright colors.
The coffee was great! It wasn’t the best I’ve had, but it’s leagues better than most coffees in the area unless you head all the way down to San Diego, which is definitely not convenient for when you’re on the go. The peppermint mocha I got wasn’t super sweet, and the peppermint wasn’t overwhelming. We asked for the other coffee extra hot and to my surprise they did make it extra hot.
Lastly, the service was amazing. I tried to tip the barista but because she was a manager she couldn’t accept it. Either way. She was friendly and very helpful.

The colors and style of the Rambler Motel caught our attention and when my wife saw they had a coffee shop, she was very intrigued so we headed over. Once inside, the place seemed very clean. I really wanted to say I love this place since I’m take any alternative to Starbucks. I’ve been here several times now. The food is decent and the drinks are good. James is another popular roaster from San Diego. This spot near Little Italy is in an industrial looking warehouse which perfectly tops off the hipster coffee vibe if you’re looking for that. The coffee stand is near the back of the warehouse and the menu is decent.
I ordered the cold brew straight up and it was delicious. Smooth yet bold and not too watery. They had some cool glass jar recycling program for frequent cold brew drinkers but I didn’t ask as I was only passing by.

I’ve been here a bunch of times and will continue to do so. Parking anywhere in Little Italy is a task by itself so go early soon after they open. Service is good. There’s plenty of seating. They were both warmed up for us and delightful. The space is great with the different storefronts and several different types of seating available. I was hoping to go in the shot and pick out my own bag of fresh roasted coffee but they are closed. You can go up to the window or go through the drive through. I like flavored roasted coffees like Cinnamon roasted or coconut flavors. I got there last bag of Vanilla roast but didn't get the vanilla flavor when I brewed in my MocaMaster. I haven't been down this part of barrio logan in a decade, but I came down to eat lunch at Hayes burger then came here for a coffee. Very cool spot with lots of interesting options. Although this place does have nice decor and an overall great aesthetic to it, the coffee was okay. The cortado I got was super bitter and harsh, not very enjoyable. The milk was also not steamed very good, it was too foamy and not very silky or smooth, which is what I typically expect from an american cortado. I ordered a horchata oak milk shaken espresso and when I received it , it didn't have any milk in it and tasted like burnt coffee. I come to this Starbucks DAILY for the last 3years because I’m a manager at a store in the mall. This last month there is new staff and this experience didn’t happen to me but my mom. All staff has been so nice but these new hires have been making horrible drinks and its any request is an inconvenience. Whenever i ask for water or a bit more milk there is always an attitude. Management please do your job at getting the toxic people out before they harm your good reputation.
