This was my first visit to Thai Orchid Room, and I feel as if I lucked out getting a table on a Friday night at the dinner rush time without a reservation. A clean, welcoming space. The staff are very friendly and attentive while not being overbearing. The food was amazing, fresh, and flavorful. I ordered the salmon choo chee and goong pow and the flavors were rich and the dishes I chose were spicy but not overpowering. Great service and outstanding food.

We went for supper here and absolutely enjoyed the whole event. The food was well presented and very well seasoned. We had the Thai BBQ chicken, and the chicken was moist and tender with a wonderful seasoning. I had the good fortune to come to this restaurant with a friend. We were looking for something different than the regular food that you get at the big chain restaurants so we came here. This restaurant was a homerun for my friend who had never previously tried Thai food.
We walked in to find a beautifully decorated restaurant and welcoming staff. It was quite busy but still got us in right away.
NOTE - if you are a party of more than 6 people on a weekend you may want to consider reservations.
It was a cold evening so the large pot of Green Tea was perfect to start.
The satay chicken tasted great and had a generous portion as well as the coconut shrimp 🍤.
The Orchid Thai Salad with chicken was refreshing and had just a bit of kick to the dressing.
My friend really enjoyed the Pad Thai noodles.
We were so impressed by the service and food that we paid our compliments to the owner who took the time to cone from the kitchen and talk to us. She is such a wonderful person who truly loves her restaurant and community.

My hubby took myself and our daughter here for Mother’s Day today and it was incredible. The muscles were A+ quality, everything was prepared perfectly, portions were great, and the range in flavours was outstanding. Stumbled on this gem while driving through Medicine Hat. It is not to often one can sit down for authentic home cooked Thai food in Alberta. I must say I am very impressed with the flavour of the spices and taste of the food. You must try this place when you get the chance and you won’t be disappointed.

The food was so delicious and as someone who can't have gluten it's really nice that the menu is mainly gf. I had the yellow curry with chicken & jasmine rice - best thing I've eaten in a while.

We also got creme brulee and they added sparklers to them because it's our anniversary which genuinely made the entire experience so much better

Everything we ordered seemed a bit bland to our liking. Note: we've been to a lot of Japanese restaurant so this is me comparing it to my fave one.
Rice in their sushi is quite thick and has no flavour. I ordered my fave aburi salmon but I tasted more of the plain rice than the seared salmon. Even when I just removed the rice altogether, the salmon didn't quite taste like seared.
Also ordered tonkatsu and miso ramen. Chashu is quite thick, a bit dr, a bit tender. I wish there's more flavour on the soup as well, aste a bit lacking. Takoyaki also taste more flour-y, I didnt like it.
But overall it's still an okay restaurant. I've just been used to, and prefer, more flavour which I didn't find here.
The place is clean and cozy.

I feel a bit conflicted writing this review as I really enjoyed my tasty dinner from Tsuki last year & decided to return this Summer when I was back in Medicine Hat for a few days. I biked up the hill from down town excited to enjoy another quality dinner but sadly when I arrived at the restaurant (roughly 40-45 minutes before closing time) I was refused seating & was told they were closed. I can understand appreciate wanting to close early on a slow night but 40-45 minutes early? Business must be really good I guess!? Lucky for me there was another Japanese restaurant just a stone's throw away who seated me & had my food served in less than 10 minutes which was equally delicious. As a fellow business owners the devil is always in the details. I wish the owners no ill will however I likely won't be back. If you wish to close that early please change your hours of operation as it's misleading to customers who show up 45 minutes early only to be turned away. That said the food here is good.

The owners are both amazing and wonderful people. I had my usual vermicelli bowl with all the fixings. Spring rolls are made in house and are delicious. The crab puffs are also divine. This is our favourite place to eat in Medicine Hat. The owners are absolutely incredible and so genuine. We take all our family and friends visiting from out of town and they always love it.

JJ Kitchen is a restaurant selling authentic, tasty Korean food in little, old Medicine Hat! It’s in an older building, but it is clean and tidy and the food is delicious. The owner was super friendly and very helpful.
We had the Korean corn dog, kimchi croquettes, and the CupBap, which is a bowl of rice, lettuce, pickles, fried veggies, glass noodles and Korean soy sauce. You pick your protein; I had mine with Korean fried chicken and my wife had the spicy pork (there is beef as well). There are three different sauces to choose from, so you can mix and match. The lemonade was fantastic too!
The food was delicious and we will definitely be back! It’s always nice to have a different type of cuisine to try that’s out of the ordinary.
Ps: we came back a second time and had the sweet and spicy chicken wings and they were killer! Huge, crispy, moist chicken wings in a sticky, sweet and spicy sauce that had just had enough heat! Highly recommended! My wife had the bulgogi soup and she loved it too. I tried the pork cupbap and it was excellent as well. We will definitely bring our sons here when they are in town.

She ordered the almond chicken with gravy (which was our favourite), ginger beef, sweet and sour boneless pork, beef and broccoli, Hat’s fried rice and Singapore rice noodles. I have to admit that when I was invited to eat CHINESE food at a restaurant named HAT'S RESTAURANT and saw their logo was a COWBOY HAT, I had my doubts about what I would see inside.
I am SO GLAD that I came here! It is a buffet with fresh food and tons of variety. You won't find old food sitting here as you might in other buffets. In fact, they had a whole turkey that they allow the customers to carve up themselves.

I’ve been ordering the last few days, got their daily special, wongton soup and ginger beef.
The beef is nice and chewy, the chow mein feels like it just got made out of fresh dough.

It's 4 stars, but I'm feeling nice. The menu is simplify to match the small city pallet. It's missing some ingredients you would get else in authentic Vietnamese restaurant. No tripe, tendon or basil leaves. The food tasted okay and the older gentleman was very nice. The prices for a restaurant quality food is fantastic! Takumi’s Japanese restaurant is a tiny, super authentic restaurant that makes some of the best Japanese cuisine in Medicine Hat! This restaurant is a one man show and the chef takes a lot of pride in his food. He has cooked internationally, from Korea to Japan and I was shocked to see him working in our little town.
The restaurant is small, and has seating for around ten people, so be sure to make reservations, as he works hard and fast. He does takeout as well. But be warned that they often have to turn people away or you might have to get it as takeout instead, as it’s usually very busy. The staff is super friendly and very kind though.
The sushi is fabulous, the homemade, crispy pork gyoza are amazing, the yuzu chicken karage and poke salad are top notch! The pork schnitzel is super yummy and hubby had the Beef Short rib( he said best short rib he’s ever had at a restaurant).Parents had mushroom Alfredo and chicken Parmesan, they absolutely loved it. Another couple had the steak and prawns and Butter chicken. They can tell the chefs heart and soul went into all dishes. We came hungry and left Happy. No watered down drinks here. Our Server was very tentative to our needs and also a great sense of humour. 100% we will be back.

I can’t understand the glowing reviews of Noodlebox and I suggest that there are some fake reviews for this spot. It is definitely rated suspiciously high.
We had the spicy peanut noodle box, which I took home and had to squeeze an entire lime on it, because it tasted so flat. I was in town for a meeting and really hungry, so a buffet sounded great! Asia garden was close to my hotel. The buffet had lots of options, including ginger beef, sesame chicken and much more. The buffet was ok, pretty similar to other buffets I've been to. Asia Garden, however, has a Mongolian grill included in the buffet. I really enjoyed the Mongolian grill that was cooked fresh. I love Chinese and thought let's give this place a try. They offer the buffet and normally I just would say yes to the buffet but this time something told me to check it out first. So I walked around check to see what they had to offer. They have a good number of items but there wasn't much in each tray and what was there looked dry. So I opted for the menu and ordered the Deep Fried Wontons and Combo Fried rice and chicken balls and Ginger beef. The Wontons were pretty good but not what I am use to as they had a very light texture and not crunchy the red sauce was good and there was a lot. The fried rice was good as fried rice gets the chicken balls were ok but some what cooked long enough as it was still doughy. But the ginger beef was good. One thing that bothers me was the gentleman cooking on the grill had ear buds in while waiting on us. Here a few photos of the menu and my order. I was given a coupon to redeem a free regular combo (rice or noodles, plus TWO items & ONE POP) the two Chinese ladies were so rude when I showed them the coupon speaking to each other in their language & argued with me that they only can give me 1 item. Huge portions and fast delivery. Unfortunately, it was the worst Chinese food I've ever eaten! Correction, I've ever tasted, then threw in the garbage. The ginger beef ("Where's the Beef") was like nothing I've ever seen before (see pic) and was so hot (spicy) it was impossible to eat. And the almond chicken (see pic) was a box of deep-fried, breaded chicken with a side of roast beef gravy. Had I been in the restaurant, I would have sent it back, and walked out.
In response - I ordered ginger beef, so it's either your lack of English language skills (obvious in your reply) or your hearing needs to be checked. As this is YOUR fault, I expect to receive an order of ginger beef delivered free of charge. I hung up on you because you were laughing and your tone was disrespectful. I don't know how to prepare almond chicken; however, I DO know it's not served with beef-flavored gravy.

If I had to pick one food to eat the rest of my life, it would be sushi (if I didn't have to pay for it myself) or Blue Sky's shrimp friend rice (if it were up to me to fund.)
Their fried rice is wonderfully smokey and decently priced for the amount you receive. I wonder if their noodles are similar and am looking forward to finding out.
I called in and had their food delivered. The person I spoke with was very helpful and professional, and didn't pressure me to order more while being very respectful and personable. She had no issue going over soecific menu items with me to ensure I had all the information I needed to place my order. The ginger beef was a bit disappointing (and stomach upsetting, but worth it) however, everything was incredibly tasty.
The best restaurants don't necessarily just satisfy you, they make you look forward to eating there again. Blue Sky accomplishes that.

Really disappointing quality. Ginger beef tasted like chemical and the beef itself was odd… and it was in a strange red sauce. The other 2 dishes we ordered were very ‘soggy’ and equally tasteless. It’s like they just don’t care. Too bad as it’s close to our home. This is the 2nd time we’ve ordered, hoping it would get better… sadly no. 1 star was generous. Got delivery. Fried rice was good. Beef and brocolli was ok. The sweet and sour chicken balls and shrimp were ok but bland. The springs rolls weren't great. They were very bland. For the price, it was ok. They need to use MSG or more Chinese spices. Needs more flavour. I'd order again. Just not the spring rolls.
