Maple Ridge finally has Dim Sum! We decided to stop in for lunch dim sum as reviews say the regular menu items were good. Well it didn't disappoint as we usually drive to Vancouver's Western Lake for good dim sum, we weren't going this late that way. Tried the staples like Shumai, Haw Gao, and they even had Xiao Long Bao (XLB's). All made in-house and only for the weekend dim sum menu. You can taste the freshness from it being made in-house, the sizes of the dumplings were slightly above decent (frozen kind ping-pong ball size, these were about the size of a small squash ball). The XLB's were pretty good, soup inside has lots of flavor, ask for the pink vinegar which needed the thinly sliced ginger strips to really make it take off. But pretty decent dim sum for Maple Ridge, enough to come back and try other items. We also ordered some of the small dim sum menu items like the Beef Rice Noodle with mixed veggies and deep fried squid with spicy salt. These were very generous portions for what you get and the taste was really good. If you don't want to drive out of the Ridge for dim sum I'd give this place a try, only complaint which is not about the good is it's cold inside so the food gets cold quick so eat quickly.
