This magical little restaurant was quite the surprise! If you are in Mt Dora or planning to visit, The Goblin Restaurant should be on your dining list! Walking into the restaurant, I immediately thought of Narnia. I felt like we were transported into this beautiful, secret library and fed the most delicious meal! Everything we ordered from the deviled eggs appetizer to the crème brûlée dessert was incredible! I recommend the gourmet toasted cheese, it a classy/elevated grilled cheese with caramelized onions and bacon! So delicious! Our server was very attentive, we waited for nothing and were not rushed! My wife and I dined here in the early evening of August 13, 2025 in conjunction with a camping trip at nearby Kelly Park about 12 miles away. We had read about it prior to our trip, but we neglected to make a dinner reservation. It was a little hard to find, but we stumbled upon it in a side street after asking a local for directions as we explored downtown Mount Dora in search of it. When we arrived, the hosted said they were fully booked for the evening (and it was a Wednesday night in the summer off season), but she said there were two seats at the bar upstairs. We gladly accepted her offer, and were impressed by the beautiful inside decor and atmosphere of the restaurant as we walked to the bar to be seated. The bar and adjacent high top tables were not full yet (at 6:00 pm) so we sat and chatted with the two very friendly and professional bartenders for a few minutes, then order drinks and an appetizer (Puff Pastry Escargot). The appetizer was SO GOOD, we decided to stay and eat a full dinner, so my wife ordered a salad with beef tenderloin tips, and I ordered a rolled asiago chicken and a side cesar salad. Everything was just FIRST CLASS declicious and presented like a 5-star fine dining restaurant. This is probably the finest caliber dining you can find in Mount Dora or nearby towns of Tavares and Leesburg.

Came in recently to enjoy lunch with a friend and my infant son. We were promptly greeted at the front and only had to wait a few minutes to be seated. We had a stroller with us other wise we would have been immediately sat up stairs.
We started with some apps and drinks.
I had the Irish whiskey onion soup, my friend had the crab bisque and we split the ciabatta board, these were paired with the red red wine and my boyfriend’s back. Everything was delicious! Our server Victoria was kind, attentive, and patient while we picked out our mains. To be fair everything sounded appetizing so it was difficult to pick just one!
We landed on the toasted cheese and cashew chicken sandwich. Both very good and filling. We’ve made note to come back again and possibly try dinner.
Although this was a bit of a pricey lunch, the food, the service, and time was worth it. IMO

We have been looking for a place like this for a long time. The service was professional and so kind. Our waitress Sara was so knowledgeable. She gave great recommendations and spoke so highly of the ingredients used. It was a pleasure speaking with her and very impressed with the pride she had in working at the Gobblin Market. The food did not let us down. After eating at so many disappointing places this was a gem to find. You can tell from only being there once that they are consistent. We ordered the ciabatta bread platter to start. My husband had the bacon jam burger and I had the cashew chicken sandwich. The food was hot and everything was absolutely delicious. The way food should be made and served. For dessert we had the crèmé brulé with strawberries and whipped cream. Needless to say there was nothing left on the plate. We cannot wait to come back. If you are in Mount Dora, I highly recommend visiting. It's a fun atmosphere, while being a little more upscale. We did only visit the dining room on the first floor. We visited mid-June in 2025.
We came for the whiskey irish onion soup. It was topped with fried onions, which was just ok for me. The broth was very good, but overall it wasn't what I was expecting. I ordered the sesame-garlic salmon plate. I have recently stopped eating salt, so I am tasting it quite a bit more. I felt this was a bit salty for my taste, but other than that it had good flavors. The portion was generous, and it was light enough after having the bowl of soup.
My husband had their burger, which he did enjoy.
I would definitely come back, and try something different. I loved the waiter and atmosphere.

What a cute place for a quick breakfast! My husband and I came in after having a busy morning and while the place was busy, the staff immediately acknowledged us and let us know they'd seat us soon. Now that we know this place exists, I definitely see this place as a routine stop for us from now on.

Arrived on a Monday at about 11:00am, was promptly seated by very kind staff. I went for the Philly cheesesteak—it wasn’t bad but also felt like it could’ve used a little more love. Meat felt under-seasoned however all the toppings and bread was delicious. The food came out very quickly. French fries were just shy of golden crispy, which made for a plate of floppy fries. Highland Street Cafe appears to be a house converted into a restaurant. It is a solid choice for homemade breakfast, offering traditional fluffy and delicious pancakes, omelettes, grits and breakfast burritos.
We were seated immediately on a Friday morning, and our server was prompt and polite. Food came out quickly and the coffee was fresh.
I got a breakfast sandwich with sausage on a biscuit. Although it wasn't bad - I'd recommend getting that on bread if I came back. The biscuit was so fluffy and soft, it probably wasn't meant to hold heavy, greasy sausage in between it. It surprisingly held together alright but toast would still have been a better option here.
I think my husband's pancakes were the winner of our meal today. So, I'd recommend the pancake breakfast to someone visiting.

We found this restaurant through Bringfido.com for a dog friendly atmosphere. It is an open air restaurant, basically the exterior of a converted gas station on a busy corner. However, the food is so exceptional and the staff so charming it was a hit with us. Our server, Luke, was beyond personable and attentive. I had the succulent Mt Dora Burger, oozing with flavor and cooked to perfection. The bacon potato salad was good, but the burger required my full attention and capacity. What a hidden gem! We were looking for a good spot to take my mom who's vegetarian that still offered plenty of non-vegetarian options, too, and everything my party tried was delicious! We were in town for the first time on a day trip and wanted a place to eat outside of the hustle and bustle of downtown. Found this place on Google and decided to try it out. It was worth it. Son ordered a steak medium rare and you can see from the pictures it was more than well done to say the least, order of baby backs tasted like it was out of the freezer thawed and re heated. Solid 4 star experience. We liked everything but weren't blown away. The happy hour is definitely the highlight of this place. 4-6:30 with $8 cocktail menu, $7 well drinks, and a limited appetizer menu.
We had the watermelon pickled shrimp with vegetables on toast. It was very good. For entrees we had parpadelle Bolognese made with beef, duck, and pork, and the pork ribeye on a bed of some type of beans with peppers. Both entrees were tasty and hit the spot but were they worth $40 each, eh probably not.
This restaurant does constantly change the menu so others' experiences might be a little better and some might be worse. But overall I'd say this is a great place, and probably the best happy hour in mt Dora.

I apologize that I don’t recall our servers’ names, but we were the 11 AM party on 10/11/25. The service was fantastic and very accommodating. Excellent experiences. First time at Froggers. This is a franchise business with four locations in the area. We have driven by many times and finally decided to stop for late lunch on a Thursday. It was so good that we decided to come again on Sunday. Twice in one week. Both experiences were excellent with only one draw back, the kitchen is slow. That said the food is carefully prepared, beautifully plated and delicious. Worth the wait, even for sports bar food!

We sat at a table although there are plenty of booths as well. The bar area beyond the main dining room is big as well with dining tables, high-top tables and ample seating at the bar. Beyond the bar, is the outdoor patio seating area which is big as well, with ample seating. This restaurant can accommodate ALOT of people.
The greeter and our waitress were charming and personable. Very attentive and helpful.
We both ordered bacon cheeseburgers without the bread. I had mine with double beef, double bacon and a fried egg with vegetables. My wife got the standard bacon cheeseburger with tater tots. We also got a 5 wing appetizer to sample the wings.
The food was hot and delicious. The two minor issues with the meal were tha (1) it took a long time to get the food. Twice as long as I would have expected. (2) I ordered my burger with pepper jack cheese and it came with American. We waited so long in refused to say anything and scrapped the cheese off.
It was such a great experience we decided to return in a few days and try a few more dishes. Three days later we were back.
Once again we experienced excellent service. This time we ordered the Froggers nachos, a White Pizza and 10 chicken wings. Consistent with our first visit the food was excellent. And the wait time significantly. It’s worth the wait for the food, no question. But set your expectations. The folks in the kitchen are pro’s and they take their time.

We ordered carryout while in town for the Florida Youth State Bowling Tournament. The reviews were good and other people from bowling staying in our hotel raved about it.
However, maybe their carryout game is weak compared to their dine in experience?
The woman that took the order at the counter seemed new (easily confused, didn't know dressing options, bagged a carryout order with no silverware - I had to go back and ask for it after I walked out of the building and didn't think to ask for napkins since I assumed they were in the bottom of the bag).
After getting back to the hotel my wife asked where her dressing was for her Fiesta Frog Salad. I had no idea since I assumed it came with some kind of default dressing and wasn't asked what kind I would like when I ordered it). I had to go back to the restaurant from the hotel for dressing since she couldn't eat it dry. The woman I ordered from wasn't sure about the dressing so she asked the kitchen staff and was advised the salad didn't come with dressing. Luckily, another employee came to my rescue and got me some balsamic vinaigrette.
The Chicken and Rice bowl was supposed to have the "side of salad" tossed in ranch but it was not. The attached pic makes that clear. Since it's a rice bowl, salsa and/or sour cream would have worked for me...or that ranch that was missing.
We also ordered a large tater tots. I did not include a pic of them because they're tots.
We might give it a second chance next time we're in that area but there's also a Sonny's and Golden Corral which are both hard to beat.
The corn dog nuggets were for an 8 year old and luckily 8 good ones of the 12 were enough. The other 4 looked like they were stuck in the bottom of the fryer for a week.
To top it all off, there was a piece of melted plastic in my Chicken and Rice bowl!

I already posted a review for a chilis branch in Orlando before but I couldn’t resist not writing one for Mount Dora. I couldn’t believe how different one branch can be from another! The staff are so friendly and welcoming, They never leave you hanging they are always getting you a refill and taking stuff off the table without you actually telling them to do so and the food tastes so good. What caught my eye is that this specific branch is super clean and the ambiance is so positive and energetic and it wasn’t super crowded which is a bonus. Our waitress Melinda was fabulous. The first thing she did when we sat down was to thank my 92 year old dad for his service because he had a Navy hat on. He wears one all the time and is rarely acknowledged for it, but Melinda did. The next thing she did was to interact with my 5 and 8 year olds. I wanted to share feedback about my visit to the Miller’s Ale House in Mt. Dora on 11/13 around 8:15 PM. My sisters and I came in for dinner, and unfortunately, I was very disappointed with my meal. I ordered the prime rib, and it was served cold. I asked for it to be warmed up, but when it came back, it was still only lukewarm. The texture was rubbery, the seasoning seemed off, and after only four or five bites, I stopped eating because it just didn’t taste right. My family ordered an 18" pepperoni pizza with 5 spicy garlic and 5 Jamaican jerk wings for delivery. The pizza was great and we were very pleased with how great it tasted. The wings, however, seemed undercooked, had a very rubbery texture and were chewy. We took one bite of each flavor and spit it out.
I called the store to express my dissatisfaction with the wings and requested a refund as my family would not be eating them at all. The gentlemen on the other line stated the cook their wings in the oven, not a fryer, which is why they were a different texture "than what I'm used to". I stated again that we are not eating them, and I'd be happy to personally bring them to the store to return and show a manager. The burger itself was freshly made, thin pressed, and okay. Not much seasoning on the burger so I can tell they rely on sauces to mask. As a picky eater, you cannot hide behind that for me.
I would go again if there out of convenience but would not go out of my way.

Fries are good, crispy and made when ordered. I didn't think the burger was that great. Just a basic burger, (one Patty no cheese, lettace, tomato, pickle) and fries, no drink, was just under $10. Haven't tried the shakes. I don't see very many being ordered.
