We called in advance as we wanted to have dinner to celebrate our 31st wedding anniversary. From the minute we arrived, we had 5 star service! From a thoughtful table set-up to the attentiveness of our wonderful server KT, we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. The Moroccan scallops were divine, as were our entrées. I have been waiting years to visit this wonderful gem of a restaurant, but was always passing through with no time in the schedule. I'm so glad that I finally made it happen!
The first thing that stood out was the service - a wonderfully professional and smiling hostess checked our reservation and ensured our table was ready, and we were led to our table by none other than the owner herself who seated us and shared a few ancedotes while we got comfortable. The waitstaff was on point, and we really enjoyed the excellent wine menu to choose from. We enjoyed a delicious calamari appetizer that was original and quite tasty, and then we were off and running with the entrees.
We were a group of four, and everyone enjoyed their dinner choices immensely! I will speak specifically about the lamb, because it was without a doubt - the best lamb I have had. Very flavorful, perfectly cooked, and a wonderfully subtle sauce that complemented the dish seamlessly!
No desserts for us, just great conversation and a lovely bottle of Zinfandel.
Highly recommend, and will return!

Quite possibly the best deviled eggs I've had in my life! I also enjoyed the Wellington sandwich, and the Japanese sweet potato cheesecake. The presentation of the menu items was amazing on all three, but the cheesecake presentation was another level! I've been to some of the finer restaurants around the country, but have yet to find something as spectacular as Meta & Rose in Wasilla, AK. Me and my Fiancee John were coming from Anchorage, AK to visit Wasilla, AK for a fun road trip the day before Labor Day. At first they were closed to prepare for dinner at 4pm, so we walked around the clock tower mall and and visited a couple shops before arriving back to Meta and Rose Restaurant. We went back at around 4pm and waited to be seated. It did take about 5 minutes to get seated, but we were greatly greeted by the Owner of the restaurant who gave us a tour of his foods and drinks menu.
My Fiancee was intrigued to hear how the old fashioned drink was a signature drink from the owner. We didn't expect much from the drink, but it was such an experience we've never had. I was totally surprised with the foods that were brought to us, in such a beautiful matter and each bite was exquisite. We've been to many, many restaurants and by far this is the fanciest and best restaurant we've ever been too. We normally don't like to go far for a restaurant, but for Meta and Rose Restaurant, we will visit 💯. Thank you for giving us such a wonderful experience and delightful food. Meta and Rose will be our favorite Restaurant in all of Alaska.

My first experience was to-go and the food was so excellent that I was excited to come back and actually dine in. The food was beyond excellent, honestly the best meal I’ve had since living in Nashville. Kelsey our waitress was lovely and very helpful. Wonderful atmosphere. Food is priced appropriately I think, we had the Meta Salad and the French Wellington sandwich (to die for).

Stumbled onto this place just passing through town. I'm from Kansas and was looking forward to some good food. Customer service, 5 stars. The waitress and another gentleman were excellent, kind and prompt with everything. We ordered the Beer battered mushrooms as an appetizer, with the "Don't Kiss Me" Burger and Fish Tacos. Both had fries. The mushrooms were very good! The blue cheese and green onion sprinkles added some great texture and taste. The burger wasn't terrible. The pattie had no seasoning at all but was cooked as ordered. It was a bit of a let down for the price. The fish tacos had, surprisingly, cheddar cheese and black beans which didn't really work with it. The tacos were also swimming in sauce which became the only flavor that was detectable. The fries were the rockstar of the meal. Perfect temp, crunch and salting. Overall it wasn't a bad experience at all, but some changes and training would really do well for them to justify menu pricing.

We had lunch at Last Frontier Brewing Co. in Wasilla after scoping out a couple breweries—this one won out since the other spot only had pizza and the reviews here looked promising. The draft list leaned heavily toward IPAs, which aren’t our thing, so we went with iced tea. I ordered the elk burger (medium rare), and wife went for the Italian Sub. Both came with fries. Great place definitely worth the stop. I had their version of a mushroom Swiss burger and thought it was well seasoned and tasted great. The lightly breaded fries were good too. And to top off the great meal, the service was very good.

Came in on a Saturday afternoon, immediately and warmly greeted and seated by the hostess Hillary, our server Andrew was very friendly and attentive. The food came out fast and fresh. I will not be eating here again.
We have ate her several times for breakfast and generally were pleased with the service and food.
Tonight we decided to come in for dinner. This was around 4:30 and they were not busy. Maybe 10 people. I seen 3 waitress and at least 3 cooks. While waiting for our order I noticed 3 other people that came in after us had already received their food.
We received 3 out of 4 meals and were told they missed my kids meal so it was being prepared ( finally got it when we were half done eating)
Two of my kids ordered breakfast. Over all it was OK other than the sausage gravy tasted wierd.
My other kid ordered the "kids spaghetti and meat sauce" Now I understand prices are going up but seriously $13 for a small plate of mostly noodles and some tomato sauce is crazy!
I ordered a chicken fried steak meal with mashed potatoes and soup ($19)
The potatoes were cold so I asked for a replacment and the waitress brought me out mashed potatoes with sausage gravy ( which should have been regular country gravy)
The chicken fried steak was a pre cooked frozen patty from the taste of it.
Over all I was very disappointed with the food and service.

So disappointed with Tailgaters today. The service was terrific, but not the food. I felt a heavy sense of greed in there. Caesar salads aren't ever worth $20 or more. All salads were over priced even tho it's a stack of lettuce with premade frozen ck fingers on top. Eewww.
I couldn't eat a reg hamburger so I ordered from child/sr menu. I love Coleslaw, which comes with that special dressing. They think they're making extra money leaving it dry and gross. No! Went in January 2019 for lunch on a Friday. The place was about half full with an older crowd on their lunch break. My husband and I shared an onion ring appetizer ($10) and I had the buffalo chicken sandwich with fries (pictured). The onion rings were good but weren't homemade. They came with ranch. I said we were celebrating our 2nd wedding anniversary and didn’t think much more about it, but they took it seriously! Me and my wife ordered the prime rib to share, we asked for it to be cooked medium and when brought out it was heavy on the raw side with pink all the way to the edge. My friend has been raving about Tacos Cancun for months. I finally joined him for a meal.
When we arrived, the line was out the door on a Saturday evening. No one complained. The food must be worth it.
So many choices. It was hard to settle on one. I knew I wasn't going to have room for dessert based on the sizes of the plates coming out of the kitchen.

The food was delicious. I've never found beans to be great. I'll eat them but never rave about them. These beans with cheese were filling. The rice was nice and fluffy. I got so stuffed that I barely made a dent in my enchilada. But I was excited to have leftovers for the next two meals.
The drinks were very good too. I'm picky about margaritas since I know what great ones taste like when I lived in New Mexico. These were pretty good. I didn't order the "rub a dub tub" margarita but it looked interesting if you and a friend are thirsty.
The staff from the cashier, the food runners, the cooks, and bussers were all top notch. It was a well oiled machine. Great job!
Highly recommend this restaurant in Wasilla. You will have leftovers.

Undercooked eggs x3. Pictures attached. Decided not to eat them and just enjoyed the rest of the food- I don't need any salmonella in my life. It was obvious to me that the cook had the grill too high and wasn't cooking the food long enough. Hashbrowns were extra crispy on the edges but barely cooked in the middle. It took over a half hour in drive thru i waited for about 5 min to order after being told to wait when I got to the window there was a female taking orders very hurriedly and short with hardly any politeness, I saw some walk by in plain clothes inside and heard laughing the whole time coming from in the restaurant like a party was going on. Apparently they dont prepare for breakfast because you cant order any of the drinks on the menu other than soda. Person taking my order just kept saying no when i would order a drink until i asked what they did have and was told only soda which did not sound very good at 6:30 am. Fantastic burger and fries! I got the classic burger with bacon, and I asked them to remove the mayo but add their jalapeño and cranberry infused cream cheese, and it elevated the burger even more! The bacon was real, and it was not that microwave store bought bacon. The fries were crispy and seasoned well.

I got a coffee cup with what appeared to be a regular coffee with whip cream and caramel. I asked for extra caramel pretty sure I didn't get that either. There was no ice cream in my cup. Not sure what happened with item. A small is actually two scoops and was a bit more ice cream than my two younger kiddos could handle but I'm not complaining about it especially for the 5$ price tag. Just wasn't really impressed with the burger. The burger reminded me too much of a frozen patty (unfortunately have lots of experience with those) and it didn't seem like there was really any seasoning in the meat. The rest was put together well and I loved the melted cheese. Fries were good, probably the best part, but crinkle cut is the lower end of fries. Over all the price is just too much for the quality or lack there of. I wish them the best. Will likely go try their desserts. Maybe that's where the 5 stars are at.
